i wanted to leand how to make ur bootie for a adult can u gife a vidoe with me...... my name is lizzzette ................ this is my email lizzette_morales2001@yahoo.com in facebook
i was wondering how many chains should you start with if you have a 7 1/2 - 8 size foot. i was also wondering if you could maybe even email me the pattern or something. i tend to understand it better if i can see it written (especially since your using black yarn which is sometimes a hassle to understand what your doing in the tutorial) but thank you for posting the video :)
Hello nequibah, i love the slippers you did in the video for your friend, I would like to know it you could send me the instructions please, they look quite easy as you said. and i would love to make them myself.
When you make the pattern the sole comes out with one side higher than the other, near the toes. What I did was make two, and before I crocheted the top on, I just flipped the 2nd sole around, then you will have one left and one right foot.
@LANENADETHOR I have never used one strand but it can be done you have to add more even stiches. so to answer question they will not be as thick and you add more crochet stitches but it can be done. Thanks
@rainorchids Yes, your feet shapes the slipper and they wear best if you use foam inserts and and a slip grip. Go to my playlist for adding a slip grip to the bottom or rubber silicome. Thanks
@SunnieGURL425 Sorry I didn't respond correctly....and the answer is you make the exactly the same. You feet or the person that wears them feet will shape it.
for a womans 10/11 mens 8-9 chain 20 with J hook and break down Nequibah's math for the half double placement etc..need extra width ? justsingle crochet around sole twice k works too but I prefer less hole factor and a firmer sole so willing to do extra stitches.Working single st twice around whole sole has a tiny bit of curl factor but not enough to deteriorate the integrity of the sole we are a big foot yeti family with wide feet and have to amend most patterns ;)
@pheadrasfall I'm just seeing this post and what I do is weave in extra yarn after completing the slipper for the extra. But true enough the extra single round does give it a better firmness. Hey Baby it what ever works, thanks for sharing that tip with everyone. See all my tutorials are just guides lines for those creative minds. I've notice in my first 2 parts of a tut has 1000's of hit and the last couple segments have far few hits. I assume that people figure out something different! Ta ta
I have just a short question if I wanted to make a sole for a slipper for a man's size 11 how many would I need to chain i'm a little confusted about that part. I know that it deponds on the size of hook you use. Thanks for all your vids they are just great I love to watch them I think I'm a bit addicated to learn more and more. Thanks again for all you do.
@montanamom406 Size 11, I will admit I haven't made that size but a size k hook and chain 22 sound about like it. I will post the tutorial for a ladies size. Though I suggest you purchase the written pattern for the brown and green slippers and follow the stitch count for the largest size on it using a K hook. When I post the tutorial pay attention to how I will reinforce the sole because using a size k will have more spaces. Keep me posted on how it' working out!
@Blackoreanfemale Hmmmm I am a bit confusing about this question! But to get a particular size depends on the size of the crochet hook. The sole for slippers on this video was for a small ladies or girls size 5-6 I use an H hook. Now to answer somewhat of your question, designing the sole and to obtain a certain size. I started with even numbers and obtain sizes using visual estimates and drawing a graph diapgram when I first design the soles. Basically that is how most designers start a design
@nequibah Its best to start with simple projects when first learning, like straight lines like scarfs or joined chains that create hats! That way you get the understanding what stitch measurements create. Now, each hook size makes a certain size stitch. I use certain hooks for a size measure. What size are you trying to make? From there you figure out that a larger size would be a larger hook and etc. For the count, you can either use my measures or a graph. Confusing huh?
sorry I am just getting or seeing this comment. If you have other questions send me a email. I get them faster! Anyway the soles are made with even numbers, and the half double is the halfway point. and the the 5 dc are made in the last loop of the chain. So if you make a size bigger you can use a one size larger hook and use the same number or use the H hook and add to loops in the chain. I hope this makes sense!
Hi I am so happy I found your video for making the soles, do you have a pattern for the boot that is in the video

@rainorchids Also they wear best with sole inserts you can purchase for about a $1.00 which also help share right from left.

Ok this might be a silly question and hopefully it hasn't been asked here yet.Are these soles made for both the left and the right foot?

@rainorchids No question is silly and thanks for asking.

how much would I need to chain for a size 7 sole?
kristinel4christ 1 year ago
@EightAwesomeGirls they would be smaller and not as thick...but you can use one strand and you have to add stitches for the desired width.

If you made more chains to make the size bigger would you still crochet in the same places as you would if you were making the size 5-6 sole?
