We have to rename these reactors. Call them "Nuclean Reactor" instead, why? because people are dumb as fuck. This is fact, people will hear "Nuclear" and think "omg what if that thing explodes? our whole town will blow up! omg!" No, it won't. It will NOT explode in that manner. The odds of a reactor blowing up now is just as likely as you flying a plane up into the clouds and seeing god sitting there waving.
In Bushehr, VVER-1000 reactors are going to be used, these light-water-moderated light-water-cooled reactors cannot be used for plutonium production due laws of physics. We are using these reactors in the NPP Temelin - does one suspect also Czech Republic on WMD ownership?
Your statement is wrong. All reactors fueled by uranium create plutonium-239. Irradiated, or used, fuel from light water moderated reactors is 'proliferation resistant' because it is more difficult to get enough weapons-grade plutonium to make weapons. But it is unlikely that the used fuel will ever be used for weapons, because Russia and Iran have agreed that it will be shipped back to Russia. However, it will give Iranian scientists valuable experience and a reason to enrich uranium.
you guys are dumbasses, chernobyl failed because of a major design flaw, it didn't blow up like a nuclear bomb dumbass. It blew its top off due to low coolant levels and massive steam pressure, so no, it is impossible for a nuclear reactor to blow up like a nuclear bomb, they were running a test and the control room manager was being "conservative" and lowered the power causing the disaster so no, its not chernobyl
you're so STUPID. Just because the reactor is run on a nuclear reaction, doesn't mean it can wipe out and disintegrate a whole town like a nuclear bomb. If a reactor were to explode, (highly impossible now), it would only spray radioactive dust and ash and radon everywhere.
# 1 I was being Scarcastic, # 2 Have YOu EVEr Heard of Chernobyl! It was one of the Worst man Made Disasters Ever! Far Worse that Hiroshema & Nagasaki in the ammount of Property Damage & Pppl it Displaced Permenantly!
It really didn't do property damage at all. It just damaged Reactor #4. It was far worst than Hiroshima and all that is because of all the radioactive material that was set off in the explosion, and that will remain there for thousands upon thousands of years.
@ILOVELEGO123 me to I was so sad when I heard my dad had died in the explosion he was the chief engineer there!!

Technology is a sin against nature.
But that looks cool though.

nuclear weapons should be destroyed before the terrorists get their hands on.

@ethanswish123 CHERNOBYL!! IM FROM THERE!!!
ILUVLEGO123 1 year ago
@ethanswish123 There is actually practically no Rn in reactor fuel, all is removed by the enrichment process.
