What I dont get about you femenist, black activist, communist, anything leftist, etc. is you act like that just because white men have more money, build and invent more things, etc. That some how where holding you back? Just because one excels further doesn't mean anyone's holding you back...
I think you guys dont like to see people progress because it bruises your ego.
You're trying to tag a name onto this rather common place piece of police brutality in those times when at the same time men were dying in their frigging 1000's in the trenches? My God!!
@ZimbaZumba You have a highly valid point, there is a lot of injustices and horrible things in the world, and things could always be worst. This even was not even close to some of the horrors history has presented to us. At the same time just because someone has it harder somewhere else, or things could be worst does not mean you neglect the issues that are right in your back yard. If we as humans do not tolerate smaller injustices then we will certainly not tolerate larger ones.
@MacraeCain You are correct. But there is also the question of over emphasis of a problem relative to to others. Especially by trying to tag a name onto this event ie "Night of Terror" which is for politically self serving purposes.
There were over a 1000 nights of terror in WW1. 30,000 men Allied died on the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme, most were conscripted and did not have the vote.
Problems in our own back yard should not be ignored but it is question of degree.
@ZimbaZumba Yeah I agree with you on the over emphasis. Just for the record I did not label this event, it was already labeled in the research we did for the project.
@ZimbaZumba Are you freakin' kidding ME? You're going to hold up a few thousand MEN who died in ONE war against the GENERATIONS of WOMEN who've been denied everything, including the right to have a say in their own fate? Get a clue, dude. If you wanna go number to number, I'll do it, because I will win. No one has faced more hardship throughout the ages than women.
No need to get hysterical. The discussion is about the attribution of a name to a particular evening, when in fact thousands of men also died under appalling conditions on the same day. An FYI it was a few million not thousand that died in WW1, they had no conrtol of their destiny either.
The death of men seems to be of little consequence to you though. Also social class is more of an indication of quality of life and control of ones destiny not gender.
@PeacocksandLilies Has it ever occurred to you that women faced "hardships" not because of men. But because they dont hold the physical and mental ability to hunt and farm which has been the primary job for all of humanity from 10,000BC - 1880AD???
Not to mention how men would hunt a sabour-tooth tiger drag it back 5 miles over mountains to the tribe, wife and family because he "oppressed women"???
@fargonbastedge Gawd, you're so right! I completely overlooked the fact that women didn't even have the strength or stamina to shovel dirt for thousands of years and were too stupid to plot rows. My bad. Moron.
@PeacocksandLilies Its not that simple princess. You also have to keep food fresh in sub zero temperatures during the long winters, build a fire, work in the hot sun in the summer for 12 hrs, etc.
Its not as simple as "planting rows". I can tell you never hunted or farmed in your life. Probably some uppity bitch from the suburbs...
Do you think that Narcissist plan what they will do to their victims and how they are going to manipulate and control her. I believe that every con artist always has a plan and a scheme of how he is going to get what he wants. I imagine that when a narcissist meets a new potential supply, he spents an enormous of amount of time planning how to ensnare, control, dominate and ultimately destroy his victim....
And men today still want to do these things to women.
We must wake up, sisters. WE MUST. Because they WILL do this again, and they have much worse weapons now, not to mention torture movies and violent porn for inspiration.
Shocking!! It is usual for us to romanticize history, or isolate ourselves from it; this really brought it into focus, and shows how tyranny exists over all eras and locations.
Concerning November 14 1917, it should also be noted that on that day 3,500 Allied men died and 7000 were wounded, (using average figures for WW1).
The conditions of their suffering and deaths are beyond description. Almost all of them did not have the vote either. It was these men and others who fought and died to ensure that the vote actually existed. They demanded the vote on return which in turn paved the way for women.
i am forever grateful to these women for fighting for my right to vote.we are human beings and have just as much right to vote as men. when im in line to vote in the next election i will think of all that these women did so i could be there.
To those who are skeptical of the validity of the facts herein, know that snopes.comhas determined the validity of these facts. Thank you so much, MacreaCain, for this excellent presentation! If any woman did not go out and vote today, and you were not severely disabled, then shame on you for wasting the incredible efforts of these women who suffered so severely so we have the right to vote!
Absolutely send this to definitely all women. But also to men as well. We should never forget the reasons we have the rights we have and those who sacrificed to earn those rights for us. God bless them! Amen!
I think given the opportunity, the powers that be would be happy to try this again. Male anger against women hasn't disappeared. Also people in power---police have been racheting up discrimination against journalists, bicyclists, people of color- anyone who seems like the "weaker sex- or less powerful. I had a dear friend- Kamaladevi Chattyopadhyay- in India- who was doing the same thing around this time in India, Worked with Mahatma Gandhi. She was jailed for 5 years.
not only was Wilson a racist and destroyed years of progress in race relations but this scum (who is burning in hell now)didn’t like women either and this clown has schools named after him what a travesty ---we should start a movement to change all schools named after him to these women who fought for the right to vote
@OOPS4U2CNOW Sadly I do not believe that this type of mindset has actually been eliminated, its like an undercurrent that runs deep inside our society as well as others. I do believe these woman were much stronger than this generation, its almost like give us the right to vote but then burden them with other baggage . I'm watching several generations of young woman who believe that a male is nothing more than a support system for them. my thought has always been educate yourself .....
@OOPS4U2CNOW Yeah right, since we have no other problems that are radically more important to resolve right now. Lets start an anti-dead president school name movement, for pete's sake, so we can apologize for history. Yikes!
Nothing but respect and tears for the women who endured and still endure these atrocities and I also wanted to share my thoughts, these women and many fight to this day for womens voting rights which to me means they are fighting for equality and choice, the choice as to wether or not we as women act or not in an equal way to men without force, expectation or prejudice. just my own thoughts and no disrespect intended. thank you for putting the video together
I was initially skeptical of this video's historical accuracy, apparently only due to my own ignorance. After a little research, I'm saddened to report that this video is probably an accurate accounting of what these women had to endure, and the prejudices afforded these "second class" citizens.
@bfairbroth Thanks for your comments, I was skeptical at first when i was approached to do this video, I did some research on the subject and came to the same conclusion. Thanks for watching & commenting.
@bfairbroth pfff second class citizenry my ass. Men fight and die, build buildings, sail around the world, land on the moon, pass laws, protect society, etc
Dont you get it? Men are civilization. And its rude for women to not do any of these things, but yet try to bombard there way in the decession making process.
The problem is everyone wants to demand "equality" but noone wants to prove it.
I can only wonder if I am willing, as these women were,to stand up against "common" belief for what is right. The least I can do is vote. Thanks MacraeCain

It is forgotten that many men did not have the vote in the UK either. Some facts:-
Reform Act 1832:- Resulted in 15% males having the vote.
Representation of the People Act 1884:- Increased suffrage but still 40% of males did not have the vote.
Representation of the People Act 1918:- Universal suffrage for males over 21, females over 30.
Representation of the People Act 1928 - Votes for all over 21.
In photos the policemen arresting the suffragettes did not have the vote either.
