The screw farthest forward on my stock (the one with the shorter screw) won't screw in

I used these guides to take apart my CYMA Thompson M1A1 and clean out the gearbox. I put everything back together and shot it, it works but after the shot it sounds like the gearbox whines like it's pushing something back after each shot on semi and after each burst on auto. Does anyone know what it is and if I should worry about it?

@TheAirsoftgroup I did. I just took it apart again and checked everything then put it back together and it was fine again.
