Although I completely agree that the bands you listed are excellent, I must disagree just as entirely about your statement on hip-hop. Who are we to judge, and to decide what can and cannot be music? In south america, tribal people listen to their shamanic drumming. In Africa a variety of instruments are utilized. In the technologically advanced world, people make music with whatever instruments they choose- whether it's a guitar or a computer, or even gameboy colors (8-bit music, look it up).

I like most the bands you listed but to tell you the truth, today the Aquabats have synth in their music, especially after their brass players left their band. But the vocals don't sound electronic, I hate that electronic robot voice sound, it takes no talent to do that and it sounds crappy to me.
Other people can like that shit, but I'm pretty close minded about music, can't help it
