@simplycrazytube The is about Jorge da Capadócia, one very important character of the Catholicism, with a lot os other variations for other religions, specially those with african origins, where he is called Ogun. The song also repeats a king of pray that is made for asking for protection, and is it quite pretty even for me (I´m not neither catholic nor from umbanda or candomblé.)
Perseverança, ganhou do sórdido fingimento E disso tudo nasceu o amor Perseverança, ganhou do sórdido fingimento E disso tudo nasceu o amor
@skynetF1 Yes. Actually there's a sort of an "MTV Unplugged" DVD. I have it at home and I guess it's still purchaseable in many websites. If you want more information about it, send me a PM. Btw, nice to see someone from so far away interested in Brazilian music :)
mixed up with ugly, untalented, racist whites and non black ppl is a genocide and death of different cultures!! why original african-black jazz and rock n roll are dead, only because impudent, untalented, racist whites have raped and stealing this beautiful and talented type of negro's music/cultures! RIP BLACK BRAZIL!
@realblackxxxx you are the racist here! And just an historical fact you ignore: the first "slave masters" were tribe leaders in Africa, who created this market by selling their captured enemies (as you say, black brothers and sistas) as slaves to american settlers. In Brazil the discrimination is not determined by the skin color, rather by social class. Almost no Brazilian can say he or she has none-black or none-white ancestry. And that is what makes Brazilian culture so happy and beautiful!
real classy black african-brazilian music right here! original by real chocolate/brown black brohers and sistas, and not all this fake azz mixed/white european emigrant's bullsh't by slave masters who have raped and stealing real african-brazilian culture!! rip to real dark skin black brazil. so sad!
Beautiful!!!
One of the greatest living vocals!

@simplycrazytube It goes kind of like this (1):
George enlisted in the cavalry
And I'm happy because I am also from his company.
I'm wearing the clothes and weapons of Jorge
So my enemies will have feet, but won´t reach me,
So my enemies will have hands, but will not catch me or touch me
So my enemies will have eyes, but they won´t see me
And even in their thoughts, they may not make me any bad.

@simplycrazytube (2)
Firearms, they wont reach my body
Knives, lances, they shall break without touching my body
Ropes, chains, they will split without tying my body
Cause I'm dressed with the clothes and weapons of Jorge.
