Excellent video. I'd love to see him demonstrate this animal style in controlled sparring--that might clear up whatever misconceptions people have about the efficacy. It strikes me that a skillful fighter with these low, powerful stances and slashing transverse strikes would be a real challenge for someone who used a muay thai/BJJ hybrid, because he'd be difficult to get off balance or hurt with a leg kick, and his counter attacks would be coming from unfamiliar angles and planes.
@sethers200 lol it's kung fu, not supposed to be effective. it's a gymnastics display. you want effective try muay thai, brazilian jiu jitsu, mixed martial arts...you won't get and fancy, acrobatic forms there.
@CriterionCoIIection ok clearly you haven't been trained in martial arts. the point of these forms are to instill discipline and focus into the student. these forms aren't meant to be used in a real fight, they just give the student the chance to practice different blocks/strikes.
@BlazingKicks Yup, my reflexes are already increasing and I've barely scratched the surface! Also I noticed my muscles swelling over time, making it look like I've been lifting weights recently! An unexpected bonus! =D
its diferent from tiger style?
