I grew up in Wimbledon. I don't remember seeing any litter on the common so wombles must exist but I never saw one

Bernard Cribbins, one of the greats. I always thought it was him singing the theme tune, and didn't realise it was Mike Batt until much more recently. I always remember that seemingly dodgy edit where the music misses a beat when the vocal finishes just after 0:40 !
