  • how in the freakin world can i get my hair like that???

  • Virgin Coconut Oil has anti virus, anti fungus and anti natural parasites characteristics. It helps to control and overcome a variety of diseases and ailments

Dr. John J. Kabara University Michigan-USA

  • Coconut oil is the best! I use it for my hair and cooking. :)

  • @alankvaldez wow :/

  • Hi! we got various product benefited from virgin coconut oil. Do take time to view our product at - w w w . b i o - a s l i . c o m / ? i d = SULHAN (THIS IS NOT A SPAM)

  • USAD is a joke

  • @ayjntghost YOU ARE SOOOO RIGHT!! IF EVERYTHING USDA CERTIFIED WAS SO GOOD, PEOPLE WOULDNT HAVE SO MANY DISEASES DERIVED FROM FOODS AND OTHER USDA CERTIFIED PRODUCTS IN AMERICA!

  • Be careful with organic, a lot of companies claim to be natural/organic, but since there is no certification for cosmetics, they still have a lot of toxins. I found a great line of products and they ARE USDA certified organic like food. Soo, you can be sure that you are getting TRULY Organic products on you skin. Check out my channel to find out more ;-)

  • @TopOrganicTeam BUT ALOT OF THINGS CERTIFIED BY THE USDA IS BAD FOR YOU TOO!

  • @TopOrganicTeam ....

Whatever you sound like you're just pushing your own products. And she did not advertise a cosmetic product she's talking about plain old coconut oil that you find in food stores. You can get coconut oil at any grocery store and it's amazing. Better than any cosmetic you're trying to sell.

  • Ford needs to get away rom the stick figures

  • ~herYTvids addition

  • she is from costa rica, but she kinda sounds jamacian or barbadian to me...

  • something wrong wid your ears??? no sign of either twang there

  • @g4ready She lives in New York and likely has friends from those islands...

  • i was thinkin d same thing

  • @g4ready lol i know, i was thinking the same thing..she sounds more basian than jamaican though. haha

  • South America is pretty multi racial you twats

  • GOTTTTDAMN SHANA.. HOLLA AT ME!!

  • ~~~true perfection

  • I love her hair

  • I got mine at an Asian Foods store for $3. It is very economical. Only coconut oil becomes solid at room temperature, so it's best to keep it in a shallow open-mouthed jar.

  • Make sure its organic and expeller or centrifuged but not heated or chemically extracted, big difference in flavor and its positive or detrimental effects on the body as a result of being natural and pure or chemically processed and toxic. May look good but be toxic in fact. Look into the processing AND growing of it. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides go on the palms and will be in the oil as well of course. Organic is always best.

  • i love her hair

  • Coconut oil is NOT a sunscreeen, use it as a sunscreen and you'll just BURN! I know: I tried. I was young and silly and fortunately I only tried it on a little spot... It took years for my skin to recover :(

  • i agree, for fair skinned peeps it's not good in the sun, but IS an excellent, non-toxic skin moisturizer. makes colored tattoos SHINE and POP

  • @pyogazel IMO if it takes years for one spot of your skin to recover you SERIOUSLY need to go to a doctor. =/

  • @ NoahideCamel, thank you for your concern, it took so long because it's a very fragile spot : the space between my breasts. It's healed now but I learned my lesson.

  • @pyogazel she never said it was a sunscreen she said it helps you get a good tan you know like a tanning oil..?..sun screen is a good sun screen..

  • lol

  • She is so unique-looking, I love it!

  • i with someone would of told me that coconut oil was sold at drug/health stores. i went to like 6 different hair supply stores and couldn't find it. but i got some yesterday at Vitamin Shoppe :)

  • yeah it's a whole food and indian stores

  • I was just about to comment on how I love her hair

  • Yep, Beauty indeed

  • marry me

  • how the hell is it a sunscreen if it helps u tan? sry but that rly doesnt make any sense at all.

  • hahaha i was wondering the same thing!

  • just because something has sunscreen in it doesn't mean it prevents you from tanning. SPF protects agains damage but it will still allow you to get darker. coconut oil has natural spf properties but if you put it on and go in the sun you'll get dark,

  • emphasis on the "very good" sunscreen. It has to be non tanning to be "very good" at screening, everyone knows spf has grades genius.

  • Um first off I didn't say it was "very good" it's in fact a low spf in coconut oil. You asked how is it a sunscreen and Im just letting you know it does have SPF genius. Thirdly no it does not have to be non tanning to be 'very good' You can get tan with even spf 30 or more because some uva/uvb radiation will penetrate your skin TANNING IT just more slowly. Genius. I was just answering your question but since you wanna result to name calling it is what it is.

  • She says "very good", not u, why so self centered? Ridiculous the way u patheticly try teaching lessons in spf to a person whos highly sun sensitive and has used many brands and grades of sunscreen over 15 years. Spf purpose is to stop tanning, sun protection hello? Yes lower spf will let some sun through, that is why good sunscreen is higher grade and stops the tanning, grow a brain please and realize how stupid your argument is.

  • Aargh you are brain dead. Just coz you have sensitive skin doesn't mean you know more about UVA radiation. You can look it up if you don't believe me. You can still get a tan with a high SPF it will just take longer. I live in California and go to the beach all the time it's possible to get a tan with a high SPF coz the sun's radiation is powerful. If you have sensitive skin you should know this. Don't take my word for it LOOK IT UP!

  • 1. abbreviating words doesn't make me illiterate.

    2. I understand well enough. Im a Biology major but even Paris Hilton knows she can get a tan with sunblock.

    3. I'm Chill

    4. I don't even know why I argue with you obviously you're pretty dense. Im just stating facts. FACT: One can indeed get a gradual tan with a high SPF.

you can give me all the thumbs downs you want hun, it doesn't really matter. n_n

  • You are failing to see I do accept the fact that yes u can get a tan with a suncreen, please, just try to calm down for a second, read slowly, and repeat. Process, understand. Seriously...calling me dense wont make u win this argument, and I didnt say anything about abbreviations, I use em too. See another point u completely missed out on. Im patient, I ll wait, take your time.

  • Patronizing me wont make you win either, hun." But this was never my intention to argue anyone down. I don't spend my evenings on youtube looking for ppl to debate. I probably would've never responded if not for the 'genius' and 'grow a brain' comments. Afterall it;s okay if you didn't realize you can get tan with even a high spf coz with sensitive skin u probably dont lay out too long in the sun. It's one of the only ways to tan from the sun w/out burning. Have a nice day. n_n

  • @breakbeatghost... sunscreen doesn't keep you from tanning. Prolonged sun exposure regardless will cause darkening of the sun regardless of they type or intensity of sunscreen. If you're sensitive to sun exposure, it's because you have fair skin and low levels of melanin so you shouldn't be in the sun for long periods anyway. The woman in the video is naturally darker and the browner your skin is naturally the more sun protection you have to begin with.

  • @prutyladyd07 Yeah, i already have dark brown skin, but still come home with tanned outlines from my bathing suit. HAHA!

  • @prutyladyd07

I am an African American (med- dark skin). I can't use sunscreen because it breaks my skin out, and 20-30mins of exposure to the sun makes me blister like a redhead! Would coconut oil be a good enough alternative of a sunscreen for me?

  • @olivers64 mix shea butter, some beeswax and coconut oil.

  • damn, i wanna be a ford model so i can do these little promo/commercial things! I can take all day telling my beauty secrets/products to the world.

But hey, I'm only a model in my OWN mind, and I act accordingly, y a dig?

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE her hair!

  • I love being triple black!!!!

  • In the 14th century African king Mansa Musa would bring juggs of pressed coconut oil,as well as tons of gold to

what is known today as Egypt on his pilgrimages to mecca to the glee of

    everyone.

  • yepyup.

  • That's mine at Meijer's ! $10.00 a jar! She's lovely and thin isn't she?

  • Meijer Thrifty Acres, yo! Mad respect, Midwest stand up!

  • I use coconut oil when I deep condition and also in my daily hair spritz. It is an amazing oil. And it is one of the only ones proven to penetrate the hair shaft. My natural, kinky hair loves it!

  • Coconut oil is amazing! I buy the big tubs from the health food store, and I use it on my face, skin, and hair. And I have to try cooking with it sometime!

  • I have that EXACT same brand oil ;-D

  • I like to use it as a moisturizer before I go to bed at night.

  • i love her hair!

is there a video on how she does it?

  • shes fineeee

  • Que hermosas que somos las ticas. :)

  • most african americans look west africans

  • this is so true.

our country is full of coconut back in sri lanka we use 'king coconut' oil (tender coconut variety) for hair scalp massage, everyday before

shower. majority are blessed with beautiful thick black hair.

also we drink king coconut water, which taste great and very healthy too.

  • she has very healthy radiant nice skin tone.

  • I use that for my hair too same brand it works great in my natural hair

  • Its because many Costa Rican ancestors were Native to Jamaica, thats why most darker complected Costa Ricans have an accent when speaking english.

  • COOL

  • Drinking Coconut Water is also very good for you too :)

  • I LOVE COCONUT OIL

Seriously you can use it for anything, hair etc etc

It even made those ugly red age spots disapper

  • Its not a continent either, go study:)

  • europe is a continent genius

  • eurasia is not a continent..that's two continents combined..europe+asia..

  • LMAO , whatta idiot

    Europe is a continent.

  • coconut oil is y all indian women have shiny healthy hair

  • Bitter much MissLoveMakeup?

  • uh ooooh. some one hates being referred to as black

  • You realize most "Black" people in America arent 100% African right? Know which words to use.

  • I agree one hundred percent. When someone asks me what race I am, I say "Black." All it is to me is a way to identify my race: It doesn't define who I am.

  • What the hell r u talkin' about??? You don't know the real texture of her hair and furthermore coconut oil is for all textures of hair from lily white hair to kinky kunta kintae hair.

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahah

  • does anyone know what brand it is she has?

  • Spectrum organic coconut oil, you can get it at walmart in the grocery part

  • She is stunning. I love a girl who is completely confident with everything that's different about her... yes even her big curly hair. Wow!

  • where can i buy that oil in canada?

  • you can try a health food store, or a west-indian food store. either of those should have it ^^

  • Beautiful! Great tip!

  • Europe is NOT a country. if you are going to make comments make sure they are factual..

  • Besides that, it's nonsense to claim there are not groups that are more closely related to each other, than others. Don't you have a family? Expand on that concept. A white person in, say, Sweden, is probably more closely related to someone from Africa than they are to someone from Peru. It's just geography.

Not that "race" really means anything scientifically, anyway, which was my point to begin with...

WTF, why does everything have to be a fucking fight?

  • O_O ...I'm going to explain this carefully for you:

I said: "[...] whites and blacks have the most in common, genetically [...]"

You said: "i disagree completely, europe is a small country that tried to bite off more than it could chew."

    I said: LOL, WUT?

    You said: I WIN!!

No. You didn't. In fact, you did NOT even disagree with me, to begin with. The key word in my original phrase was GENETICALLY.

I was NOT talking about history. That's why I used the word GENETICALLY. Crazy.

  • Its women like this that make the average girl feel ugly. But, shana is sooo gorgeous.

  • You still didn't answer what your comment had to do with genetics. Do you disagree that whites and blacks are closely genetically related? Do you disagree that all humans originated from Africa? Which is it?

Besides that, WHAT does either question have to do with the past policies of the United Kingdom?

I'm not being a smartass; you're refusing to account for your half-baked comments.

  • What on earth does your comment have to do with genetics? Did you even understand my comment?

  • LOL, fail.

  • Europe is continent.

  • I'd always heard that whites and blacks have the most in common, genetically, despite the drastic differences in outward appearances. (Think how close Europe is to Africa.) Besides, all humans originally came from Africa.

Of course, all humans are closer to each other than most dogs are. Think about how different a Pug is from a English Sheepdog, for example. That's not just skin or coat color--that's a completely different body shape. Yet, they're both still dogs.

  • I agree. I've stopped using lotions and I use coconut oil some times mixed with a little jojoba oil. My skin feels so great and looks pretty. I also use it in my hair (: ...and I consume it too. Nice video your hair is very pretty.

  • how do ou get her hair style and what is it called ive been trying since forever and i cant get it im puerto rican so so i know i have the right hair for it but i cant figure out what cut i need or how to do it

  • Hah, I used this yesterday for my hair, and its great! It is the best hairmask that u can get. Just remember to rinse it out well!

  • she is gorgeous ;)

  • I like her hair ! (so much ö) x

  • so pretty...you will probably like mixed chicks hair products, too.

  • science has found that on a genetic level, people of different ethnic backwrounds have more in common geneticly that people from the same ethnicity. its quite interesting. you should read up on it. race is all in our minds. all the race problems are really people problems.

  • i think the idea of races of humans starts in the european colonial period. when european countries started colonizing other lands. they noticed that the people were totally different from them it the was skin tone, facial features and language, custom and tecnology. they thought, these people look like humans but they're diff. from us. a diff. type of people. races came to be. but nowadays we know that a "black person has more in common with an asian person than another black person.

  • but those boundries dont exsist. i mean, really, there is no such thing as black, or white. its just something we make up in our minds. there is ethnicity. that excist, but not race. thats just made up.

  • gosh, i love all these international beauty secrets! i want to start a natural skin/hair care/ make line that incorporates these and other beauty ideas and secrets...can i get some support?! lol, peace!

  • omg, her hair is gorgeous! I have curly hair too, and I can't stand my hair. but when I saw this vid it's the first time I've actually looked at someone with curly hair and loved it. how beautiful. Hey I have curly hair and I will take any tip I can get, tomorrow morning am definitely purchasing some coconut oil!

  • You're so cuttttttttttttte! lol

  • who cares? I just wanna know how i get to meet Shana.....fordmodels over to you :)

  • THERE'S MORE BLACK LATINO'S THAN BLACK AMERICAN'S.millions more.read a freaking history book and learn about slavery down there.i'm black,not mixed race,but i'm puerto rican,dominican,& brazilian(and egyptian and moroccan,but not arab-pure african).

does it even matter what race she is??okay, she's not black so is it the end of the world?if she is black(which i believe she is)is it the end of the world???no so get over yourselves...btw she is gorgeous and i LOVEE her hair and coco oil.

  • Her hair is GORGEOUS! A lot more interesting than straight, boring hair.

  • I agree!

  • Keep it moving. You obviously are a part of the boring 'stick-straight hair' club.

  • No doubt. Blow it out, yo!

  • shes not black shes from Costa Rica

and if she brushes it out it will only frizz more

i think u might be thinking it will look more under control. no. it will look crazier

i like her hair the way it is

  • just cause she from costa rica don't mean she isn't black.... Thats the dumbest comment I've ever heard. Anyway I don't like her hair! That's my opinion if you don't like it then don't read my comment anymore! :D

  • I'm black and my family is from Cuba! She is black, haven't you heard of Black Hispanics? lol

  • Thank you! It's so simple, I don't understand how people are so dense about this.

  • Yes, the slave ships didn't just take Afrikans to North America.

It's sad how little North American schools educate its students about the world and diversity.

  • Exactly! and then tourism ads do NOTHING to correct the image of an all white/mezcla island. They instead propagate the stereotype with white to light-skinned actors/actresses.

Then when people see me and ask what am I, and I tell them my mom is Cuban they are always like: "no way!, you are black. impossible"....it used to piss me off, but I'm just so used to the ignorance and I just shake my head, and tell them to go read a book on the slave trade.

  • I know exactly what u r talking about.

  • i am so jealous of her hair

mine is curly like that too.. but it just frizzes!

    tips anyone??

  • use the coconut oil to prevent frizzies! lol or try a little biosilk. Do this while the hair is still wet.

  • How can it be a good sunscreen and yet give a great tan?

  • You can still get a tan with sunscreen. Sunscreen prevents burning, not tanning.

  • Dude.. Sunscreen prevents UV-radiation to get to your skin. And that's what tans you..

So it can't do both things. It can protect you from some of it, and then the remaining amount of radiation will tan you.

Sorry, if my wordchoice isn't the best, but.. I hope you all get the point.

  • add pigments or something i guess.. i dunno, sounded quite weird to me too. to good to be true kinda

  • She has a weird accent(not in a bad way), it just sounds jamaican but puerto rican, and also a little american at the same time lol!

I would kill for her curls and accent too=D

  • Very beautiful naturally beautiful Lady.

  • I love coconut oil, tastes great, is healthy, and can give the morning smoothy a real creamy kick.

  • Question: what is the best way to use coconut oil in a smoothie; should it be melted first or added as is?

  • whoever you are need to come to seattle

  • Shana could you give us some hair tips too. I think you are stunning!

  • OMG my hair is exactly like that just longer, soooo hard to put up!!

  • OMG, my hair is exactly like that! I'm Cuban, so I suppose it would.

  • that's how my haor grows out, but my curls are a little smaller. . .

  • her hair looks like my baby sisters

  • ur baby sister is rele lucky. lol, i would kill for hair tht beautiful!

  • i learned something new today

  • THIS WAS NOT A VID ABOUT HER HERITAGE.... it was simply a video about her hair. not to mention that whenever you become famous you are asigned a pr firm that builds your story... and believe me if it gets her paid im sure she will call herself what ever they want, besides what difference does it make? you might just have a bit of hatorade in your system

  • my comment was a simple response to a previous comment and it has nothing to do with her been famous or not, sorry if I ofended you , am not racist I love black women and thats why I got to this page

  • @Marlon, i'm curious, how did the white people get to Costa Rica, since Europeans are not native to south america? ARe the white people descendants of slaveowners?

  • first of all your lying, you dont know her,cuz i dont know you and im her husband. shes not part jamaican, and there are plenty of black, brown costa ricans, there not all piled in limon thats a lie.

  • It's as though if you have great hair and great skin it's not possible that you are a pure black person, you have to be mixed because blacks are not considered beautiful. Honestly, they get on my last nerve.

I am black have long hair and am said to be pretty. It is possible!

  • i also use coconot oil but without hair mouse my hair won't look as good as you have it

  • she looks like myamee from lavor of love 3....

  • Wow she's stunning! Her accent is pretty also!

  • OMFG I LOVE HER HAIR!!!! So much body, texture, and all together fab. I saw her in a HSN commercial I think. Anyway I just put on some organic virgin coconut oil and my curls pop so well. p.s. I love her accent :D

  • Yeah it's great for you internally and externally.. I have the organic unrefined virgin coconut oil just like she showed but virgin..Purchased from Whole Foods.. I cook with it and I drink 2 tspns a day and use on my body.. It is GREAT, gives me energy and keeps my skin clear.. I also mix it with a little sea salt and black soap to wash my face..

  • Now that's a KEEPER!!!

  • I luv to lust her face.

    She is btful indeed

  • where do they sell coconut oil? Other than health store?

  • all i know is they sell them in like asian, indian shops in london. thats where i got my coconut oil from and they dont make your hair dry at all. or you can order them onine if possible.

  • Wal-Mart! Go to the oil aisle and it's sitting right there.
