Skins is hands down my favourite TV show, they've portrayed things to a large mass of audience like no other show has before. I could get into detail but then I'd write novel. S4 may have been dark and deep but it had so much raw truth and realism in it (some of the storylines anyway) that I was completely moved time and time again.

this show taught me a lot... everyone in it's fucked up somehow but they get on with things and and show love in the ways they know how instead of just taking the easy route and shutting the world out. it's actually a really clear potrayal of British teens; yea we're rowdy and get drunk far too often but we're the first generation to accept people as they are. i'm not trying to insult any yanks but skins is a lot deeper then most of the teen shows that come from the US of A.

The school is somehow overthrown by a student and slowly deteriorates into chaos, a boy is beaten to death with a baseball bat by his girlfriends psychotic psychiatrist. Basically there aren't any logical plot lines that tie together in a good way.
Being perfectly honest, the best plot line was the naomily one. Pretty much the only reason I watched season 3 and then they somehow managed to ruin that plot line in season 4. Also, you cant really say that this cast have really been "put to bed" and thats to anyone who saw the season 4 finale.. please tell me you understand that the fans weren't given closure and dont even think about saying its some sort of plot device to keep us on the edge of our seats. it was wank end of

this show taught me a lot... everyone in it's fucked up somehow but they get on with things and and show love in the ways they know how instead of just taking the easy route and shutting the world out. it's actually a really clear potrayal of British teens; yea we're rowdy and get drunk far too often but we're the first generation to accept people as they are. i'm not trying to insult any yanks but skins is a lot deeper then most of the teen shows that come from the US of A.

@rainydaysSPARKLE Not like America has a say on what the media puts on t.v. anyways. I wish teens would learn from the world around them. Having a show mold you is not so deep. Just the toughts and Ideas of what "they" want you to believe.

@rainydaysSPARKLE You might have been able to say that about the first 2 seasons of skins but, you've got to accept that season 3 and 4 are nothing like real life I could list so many reasons why but, i'll just say these.. The school is somehow overthrown by a student and slowly deteriorates into chaos, a boy is beaten to death with a baseball bat by his girlfriends psychotic psychiatrist. Basically there aren't any logical plot lines that tie together in a good way.

Being perfectly honest, the best plot line was the naomily one. Pretty much the only reason I watched season 3 and then they somehow managed to ruin that plot line in season 4. Also, you cant really say that this cast have really been "put to bed" and thats to anyone who saw the season 4 finale.. please tell me you understand that the fans weren't given closure and dont even think about saying its some sort of plot device to keep us on the edge of our seats. it was wank end of

@superdarlow On the E4 website they admitted to it being a shit ending and that they'll be "closure" in the film.

i love skins. american teens are more like the ones portrayed in skins than the american shows. by far.

@Ben1607 The teens of Brittan no, but Teens across the world yes. Most people before our (my) generation have a set way of life, theres no difference, Adults all expect us to have short hair, wear regular jeans, polos, etc. Our generation is the first to do whatever the fuck we want, when we want to. More teens end up living lives more adventurous and exciting than most adults their whole life, and this is during highschool yo. You should go to a school, and see the diversity

This is the most boring generation since the pre-world-war-period, teens sitting in front of their pcs, PS, tvs and so on, the places u travel to are perfectly set up for u, the places u party in at night as well. This generation is doing everthing commercials want. This generation eats everything u put on the plate well-behaved + they dont even understand it and are made thinking they were "rebels"..there hasnt been anything innovative recent years, except of social networks...how adventurous.

@soNervig Generalisation is for the illeducated. IMO, Innovation grows at an exponential rate. Look at the first 50 years of the 20th century there is LSD and jet engines. Now look at the last 10 years. Hadron colliders, nano technology, real time brain reading devices. Technology is getting superseded faster than ever before and for the first time, a generation has the earths condition in its hands, and will hopefully enter the books as the 1st to vear off the destructive path of its preasesors

my comment was as generalising as the 1 i answered to. Sure its not the whole picture.
No generation will evr "enter the books as the 1st to....blabla" and we DONT have the earth conditions in our hands. And I was talking about innovations that change ur everyday life and have a huge cultural impact, such as cars, computers, mobile phones, the internet... Though I have 2 admit, usually u dont get aware of an innovation from the beginning, u realise its innovative effect looking back in time.

@soNervig It's not our fault we were born into a digital age, we're nothing but a product of our predecessors. In order for society to progress it's our job to embrace new advancements, it's the only way we can evolve. Take Portishead for example, they're a constant through generation's X & Y, they combine old instruments with new ones, which in turn results in innovative music. Innovation is everywhere, it exists in all shapes and forms. Fuck your couch
