todays mass market junk from best buy is no comparison to the brand names of the mid 70's, 80's and some 90's stuff, the only way to get decent quality now is to buy high end and even some of that equipment is questionable.
i had an orange cat back in 90 that loved pink floyd when i would get stoned with the cat, those were the days, still jammin today, but with parasound and anthem and bryston instead of yamaha, own a sansui tu 717, sansui was good stuff, lookin for a au 717 for a zone amp to run off of anthem proc/preamp, had a lot of trouble with yamaha separates back then.
You might want to try a different pre-amp,that will really increase sound quality drastically. The tone contols have parameters on the knobs, kinda tedious.I thought my B2102 was lacking, sure enough it was when compared to my SX1280 with same speaker set-up.Getting rid of the pre-amp fixed this.Go with a nice analog late seventies pre-amp 78-82.Whoa,sorry just giving my own two cents, your speakers have somuch more to offer.
Wow Awesome I wish I could see the components, I love that EQ, amp the whole setup! Can you tell me what they are? Model #'s Thanks. I have the same cat, he's about 23 lbs solid. FLOYD Rules!

Terrific Onkyo Scepter 1001 speakers! Are you in Japan? From what I can see, these were Japan local market only. :-(

how do i connect the equalizer to the amplifier??
tallalziad 3 years ago
By hooking the equalizer between the preamp's output and the power amp's input.
