  • betting patterns, ever thought of that!

  • personally i wish everyone would just keep their secrets to themselves. i mean who are you helping. it's like when the media mocks terrorists by telling us and them how they should have exploited our gaping security flaws to cause maximum carnage. So putting everyone on level pegging with poker - we may as well play noughts n crosses, or dice tourneys...That aside, I Did look this up, obviously

  • SORRY BUT THIS IS BULLSHIT,ONE CAN ONLY LOSE THE PERK OF THE TIME BANK..FAST CHECK RAISE LOOKS LIKE A MONSTER HAND.AND POT SIZE BET MADE IN SPLIT SECOND LOOKS LIKE A BLUFF.IN ALOT OF HANDS TAKING MUCH TIME WILL KILL THE ACTION.IF U HOLD TRIPS AFTER THE FLOP AND U ARE HEADS UP AGAINST GUY WHO THINKS TO MUCH(THINKING HOW TO GET THE BEST VALUE) U KNOW HE HAS 2 PAIR OR TOP PAIR TOP KICKER+DRAW.IN THIS SITUATION THE FASTER U RAISE AFTER HIS BET THE SMALLER CHENCE HE WOULD SENSE THE DANGER

  • dude i am jerking off hardcore my aa looks so good, but i cum in 29 seconds and it took you 40 seconds to act, i am now no longer confident in my hand i am folding u have changed my decision.....give me a break.

  • do people not play ak, aa, kk, or qq, if there opponent waits 20 seconds to act? so does it matter?

  • we got a guy talking online tells, we got a guy talking high stakes its helpfull, and we got a guy says ftp is awsome full of beginners easy money,...... tell me how anything professional works?

  • lol are you kiddin me? online tells? does my frog ribbit the wrong way?, what happens when i start at a table run to the kitchen to get a sandwich being 30 seconds into my timer, your saying now i need to waite 30 seconds allthe time? as if people care? or are you saying i should run and grab a sandwitch every hand? then im not worrying about loosing money im worring about getting fat.

  • Great vid!

  • @tenshitress8032

Lol, I can spare 20 bucks my FTP name is tolcie0345 =)

    And yeah

You might have saw people talking all over their facebook walls currently you should register with the promo code SPECIALS on the Full Tilt webpage.

I think it is the best way if you're a beginner to start with a nice bankroll.. Your 1st deposit get DOUBLED also a few other important perks. Sadly limited to the first 4500 players that register using it

  • hey peeps, I've played on many poker sites, and Full Tilt Poker is definately the best - it seems alot of the players on there a newbies so u can take advantage of that hehe. Use code: GRAB600 on sign up to get $600 free to get u started and make some big money! :D

  • I agree with what he says however i also use my timing to trap ppl so I will bet quick and to be honest i do that so it looks weak and i have profited more doing it than not profiting from it so it does work for me. I do use his theory tho i always bet when not trapping after a quarter of the time has gone so i give no tells. but when i am not doing that its because i am trapping or representing in a calcualted position.

    Good video Paul agree totally

  • That is honestly an amazing tip and its so simple! at the higher stakes this is necessary

  • Want to play poker? Get free $500 at Party poker using this bonus code: DEAL500

  • people ripped this WTF??? This is a brilliant point, I play all the time and I rely hugely on what he's saying you should conceal.

Another tip maybe, put a piece of tape on the screen so you know when to act, when the timer has gone down

  • Good point. Faultless.

  • @SpamDetective3

Over time you can pick things up that will help in later pots.

Yeah I can answer that question, What I would tell a newer cash game to player is sign up with Full Tilt Poker with bonus code ACEOFCLUBS

Using this method, they pay new players to make a deposit. So just make a first deposit of $60 to your new Full Tilt account, and they will award you an additional $60. This will work all the way up to 600 dollars! Perfect for everyone just starting off.

  • i disagree tho

you can take as much time as you want but when you call that alone says enough

  • what if you are playing 12 tables

  • @gaminkalv if u play 12 tables u can only play ur cards anyway!!

  • the 99,99 surefire online poker tell... if someone uses the word donk or fish you can be 99.99 sure the guy cant play

  • Good vid, but I prefer taking it to another level - actually using my timer to make bluffs. When someone raises and I am sure I have the winning hand, I take my time to check him so I keep him raising till the end and then I reraise. Works like a charm most of the time.

  • What a bunch of little assholes who "responded" to this video. The advice is good if you're playing 2 or 3 tables max. He never said this was ALWAYS the ONLY way to play. Get a life you losers who can only be negative. I like his advice and am using it right now on PokerStars.

  • this is true but it will also piss everyone off cause ur waiting for the timer to go down every single hand! if everyone did that .. the game would be so slow..

  • just wait 4 seconds every time you can mix up auto mucks in and like 10 seconds like ur waiting htough with good and bad hands..

  • well throw another shrimp on the barbie then why don't cha and don't forget to eat ya porridge.

  • If someone wants to try to read me they can go ahead and try. Im purposly inconsitent with my bets.

  • just play the game and you can learn more from watching what cards they bet and raise with and what position (places away from the button) they are when they bet with these hands. for example if you know someone is a good player you can be pretty sure they are betting (raising) with AA, KK, QQ AK under the gun (first off the button). It takes time and practice to get good at poker not advice like this.

  • Last thing. I (as do many, many players) play up to 5 games at once. That may cause me to take longer to act at a different table. It is not a tell. Also most tourneys are long. If i have to go to the bathroom and run back to my puter and bet my pocket aces after time has run down is that a weak tell? of course not.

  • Comment removed

  • I play professionally and i can tell you that if someone continually takes too long to bet i will make a point to make thier game hard. i will be raising and reraising them just because they waste my time. this is true when you get under any good poker players skin. they will make your life hard.

  • terrible advice. if you play online poker enough you dont need people to tell you this crap. this guy is a flabby waste of time. if you want to learn poker play with play money first then very small money games. watch how people bet and the timer can be misleading.

  • That makes me laugh

  • Good advice, thank you.

  • i dont know why people are ripping on this video because he actually makes a good point. Im a experienced and winning MTT player and i get alot of info by betting speeds, and i even use it myself for repesentin. Everything this guy said is correct.

  • TY. It only seems like experienced players 'get' what I am saying and its all the losing players that seem to miss the point.

  • Im touched you watched it all the way through to the end. Plus you have also wasted another 20 seconds responding to this video and a further 10 seconds reading this comment. AND you are STILL reading. Even now. You cant stop. you cant actually stop yourself from reading this reply. O my God.... I wont take up any more of your precious time, Im sure you have many, many other helpful comments to leave on other peoples videos.

  • What if I'm multitabling, moron? I respond according to if I'm still on the table, or I switched my attention off to something else, I might even request time before an obvious decision, since I have too much action on other tables.

  • totally agree on multitabling.

    (but not on moron)

  • lol ur a genius

  • Obv an expert in showing weakness ... lol.

  • I never bet, I insta-shove with 9 high and suck out on the river.

  • I always bet right away

  • Not too bad, as long as you're betting the same consistently. You might start betting after ten seconds every time to give yourself some time to think in case you need it. So long as you're careful to act the same way every hand, you'll be doing pretty well.

  • dude with multitabling such a big part of online poker, I bet less than 5% of online players pay any attention to the time you take to act ( who knows what you could be doing i.e taking a shit, jacking off) people who multitable take varied amount of times to act because they could be involved in many hands at the same time.

  • Certainly, and if you're multitabling, you can't adequately control your time. Howver, if you're only working one or two tables, then you should try, because there are a lot of people who don't multitable and will sit and make notes on you. That rare person who uses details well may get a good read on you over enough time.

  • @jonny8what Seconded.

  • really there is no way t teach this cause every player is different u just have to know the ropes and after u play allot like me you will be able to have easy reads at the cyber tables 5 stars for effort

  • Wow. What's your screen name? I'd love to get together and play sometime! XD

  • why do you want to play with me? you dont want me to take your money from your now come on! also you could not afford some $3/6 Heads up now can ya?

  • Not at the moment, had to rape my bankroll for a medical problem so 3/6 is a little much. But I'll look you up when I can.

  • shut up man, keep that shit for urself

  • ok but what if im betting quickly to make you think im excited about my hand?

  • That's usually pretty transparent. Most people ahve a hard time NOT being deceptive. This means that you can often count on the opposite. If I'm looking at a really quick bet, then I might expect a weak hand. The important things aren't general tells like that, but patterns over time. I'll pay attention to how a person bets, and apply that to the hand they show down or how they react to my betting and raising. After a while you can get a sense of how an opponent plays.

  • That's why it's important to bet the same way every hand. You don't give your opponent any patterns to pay attention to and reference later.

  • Good point for beginners but still, good point.

  • I think this is a real beginner technique...a skilled player would strategic time their bets to disguise their hand.

  • spidermans big brother

  • very nice call man. Can def see that one. had to give respect to that one

  • yes agree with time u take to bet always make it the same but the other stuff u came out with is bull, your completely wrong about waiting for timer to fall right to the bottom most good players play on this and wait right til the end to to trick you in calling most of the stuff u came out with is bull

  • great video

  • madinwes thanx your right i play multi games so this always takes place w/ me pocket aa to 72 right

  • yea this is absoulute bullshit

  • using this against other players is a bad idea, I should know becuase i used to take in account how long they take but in the overall this seems to have lost me more money then won

  • A very quick call online (and live) often means a draw. A long wait usually means they're telling the truth, ie if they take ages, then bet, they have it (also true live). A quick/confident bet being a strong hand is generally true. I make profit when ppl raise pre-flop... I watch how they bet the flop LOOKING FOR HESITATION, this usually means they dont like the board so can be bet off the hand. NOTE: Try to watch/learn these tells on hands you're not involved in before you use them for real.

  • Some useful sounding advice here, some people let the timer run down as a reverse tell, in my experience its really difficult getting much of a read on someone by how long they take to act online, betting patterns give you a better idea. . il be sure to try this out though thanks

  • Useful idea - thank you.

  • These tells are overrated. Probably a bad idea to rely on them. I've played profitably online for 4 years. The biggest tells you receive online are betting patterns.

  • Delaying the same DOES work well -- in combination with betting same AMOUNT for draws, medium made hands, or the nuts.

Delaying (esp. even b4 FOLDING!) works really well at SPEED (including MTTs) because typically you "slow down" the momentum of the maniacs, and even sharks/nits will unconsciously be frustrated with you, and soon THEY will bet faster. :) Then if you wait a LONG time then smooth-call, their next bet is almost certainly FAST=strength, SLOW=frustrated their bluff was called ^_^

  • Ive used these types of online tells against my opponents before... It works! And by finding this out, I always keep my speed consistant, even in live play now.

  • Here's why this doesn't work (in my experience) People play on varying internet speed connections. Often times the data of the play takes extra time to reach those on slow connections. So it seems like they are taking a long time to act, however it's more an indication of their internet speed.

  • Even if they are speedy on one hand, and slow on another it's not assured they are making a tough decision, their connection may have had a hiccup and so it seems slow.

Besides most 9 handed games take so long to get to you, your basic decision should already be made (if folding to a bet, or check raising, and even what you are doing for varying bet amounts (call if he bets 50 but fold if he bets 100)) it makes no sense to not act as quickly as you can.

  • i had always used the timer to make bluffs. like trying to show weakness when i actually had a strong hand. hadnt thought about my general play tho! thanks!

  • wow....great idea.. never thought about that before... *bored*

  • lol someone sounds a little frustrated because they can't win :)
