  • Why doesn't the Church just fire these Bishops, Priests and Deacons outright without hesitation? I know this would be like an earthquake through all American parishes. Many would leave the Church but it would be honest. When I paint my house a color that my neighborhood covenant does not permit I have to either re-paint my house, or move to another neighborhood. Why are we haning on tot hese dinosaurs and there followers (the bigger problem)? FIRE THEM NOW!!!

    Ok, what am I missing?

  • I like that "AND Bishops". We need Generals. We don't have enough Generals.

  • Clear, insightful and fearless analysis. What we have come to expect from Michael.

The nub of the issue as I see it is that the hierarchy simply has to accept the reality that most nominal catholics do not accept the teaching magisterium and hence are not catholics in any real sense. OK the numbers presenting for Hatch match and dispatch ceremonies will fall if this fact is recognised and acted on but what of it? Should lies be winked at to pretend numbers are big?

  • Keep up the good work, we need more like you. People,... please keep Michael in your prayers so he can continue speaking the truth!

  • Hi Michael - please keep up the great work! Just wanted to correct your pronunciation of Cardinal Ouellet's name. His name is pronounced: "Wellet", rather than "Ooolet". Just wanted to make a small fraternal correction. God Bless, Michael! (That's the way we would pronounce his name up here in Canada!) ;D

  • @thesaint11006 We have heard a dozen different pronunciations from different Canadians . . . .

  • News!! !!!! "Congratulations to Archbishop Burke, who was just named "Cardinal" by Pope Benedict XVI!" Via HLI ON FACEBOOK!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Cardinal Burke & Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!

  • When I, as a Protestant, look at the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church versus the current state of affairs within the Roman Catholic Church, I become terribly discouraged. How can I reconcile this calling toward Catholicism with the reality I see every day? How can I defend Catholicism when I look at the antics of many of the supposed leaders of the church? What can I say to my Protestant friends when they see prominent "Catholic" politicians, judges, and celebrities mock church teaching?

  • @kingshounds You should make sure those quotation marks you put around "Catholic" are audible! Make sure your listeners know these people are wrong!

  • @kingshounds Re: How can I defend Catholicism when I look at the antics of many of the supposed leaders of the church?

In addition to RCTV's response, you can compare what these, so called "Catholic Leaders" do with respect to Catechism. Are they in union with the teachings of Catholic church (more specifically the Magisterium)?

Question those who call themselves "Catholic" and do not follow their own faith. Let them know that they are not "Catholic" when they mock church teaching.

  • - Archbishop Raymond Leo Burke, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, (and from the USA) is being made a Cardinal. See the list today ! ! !

  • I think many converting Protestants bring an understanding of essential Roman Catholic doctrine because they study it and compare it to Protestant doctrine(s) as they struggle with their decision to embrace Catholicism. Protestants who convert often face strong opposition from their fellow Protestants while also trying to cut through all the garbage that surrounds foundational Catholic Church teaching. That garbage is strewn there by both ordained and lay Catholics!

  • I am a Protestant who is currently a part of an RCIA class. We have only met a couple of times, but I am already defending the Bible and the true Catholic faith (Magisterium)....against the ramblings of one of my teachers! I AM A PROTESTANT DEFENDING THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AGAINST A CATHOLIC.

Faithful Catholics, please do something! I know many Protestants who are being called into the Catholic Church and I think we are being called, in part, to restore the true teachings of the church.

  • @kingshounds God bless you, kingshounds, and keep going. Some of the most zealous defenders of the faith are converts. You're being called home for a reason.

  • @kingshounds You are not alone. My husband left RCIA about 13 years ago for this very reason. Thankfully he tried again about 6 years ago and had a wonderful, faithful RCIA teacher. Please don't give up. Pray about finding an orthodox parish to take RCIA in or whether or not God wants you to stay and educate the people at the one your at. We thank God for you and pray for your perseverance.

  • @kingshounds Re: I AM A PROTESTANT DEFENDING THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AGAINST A CATHOLIC.

That is awesome! I love it.

I hope you join the faith and help weed out the wolves who teach their own doctrine while calling themselves "Catholic".

  • Ok Michael, a concern. Lay faithful MUST realize that the mission of the Church is the responsibility of all the baptized. Bishops are leaders, of course. However, all must realize that the Church cannot do this mission without prayer, the ordained need to be men of prayer, but so must the laity. The laity MUST know that their bishops NEED their prayers. St. Paul reminds us that we are in a battle with evil. No one can fight that battle alone, without Christ nor without our mutual prayers.

  • That was intense. And so full of truth. God bless you, Mr. Voris.

  • This is the time! We have an inquisition ahead of us to all of these proud and public sinners, either they repent or we excommunicate them.

    Salve Regina!

  • His Eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke!

  • Good Luck khall 356, Still waiting for a response to my Emails from 2 years ago to Jose.

I See this as Strong Words, now how's bout some Action. Keep it Up Michael, you're being heard and growing in #'s. I see the Graying and Shrinking of the Church, Daily.

  • If the heritics were thrown out, the child abuse problem would disappear...

  • It is way past time for these heretic politicians to be denied Holy Communion and to be publicly excommunicated. Now, let's pray our Bishops have the guts to actually do it.

  • I want to be hopeful, but we've been hearing strong WORDS for years and years.

God bless Archbishop Burke, but when I see someoneNancy Pelosi turned away from communion, I will be impressed. Instead, I've lived in L.A. for decades, and I watched Cardinal Mahony left there to do his damage. Now it will probably take the new bishop decades to undo it. And our children's souls in the meantime? Stop talking. DO SOMETHING.

  • 3 gauntlets baby!

  • Let the excommunications begin!

  • @rjpancerniCAUSA Agree!!!!!!!!

  • Bishops should take His Grace Archbishop Burke as an example. Too bad, some don't. God Bless him!

Also, I have always wondered what does the S.T.B. after your name, stand for? God Bless!

  • God bless Archbishop Burke!

  • What should I do if the bishop in my diocese(I"m not sure if I spelled that properly) Doesn't do anything bad, but doesn't do anything good. I guess not doing anything good is bad. for example, he doens't change our watered down catholic schools. Our catholic schools teach things I knew when I was 9, in grade 7
