Alright do u use big gage such as a 24 guage wire or what kind to get high current i get my wire from radioshack amd they have three wires red green and copper
Exactly the 2n3055 will provide the small enifficient peak that you need and will charge in secs WARNING dont leave for more than 5 secs or at least look at repetetion rate because a cap will blow in you face!!!
@Jhfgsjdcd I have started work on a ZVS based capacitor charger and a homemade secondary coil now, seems to be going well so far and I can get low voltage (1kV and below) and a ton of current out of it.
@a380rockerfan You disappointed haha, well 330v @ 2180uF is enough to make a bang when short circuited but its not really enough voltage to overcome the resistance of the banana. I need a 5kV 50uF capacitor like photonicinduction's for that!
get a large 240 to 12 volt ac transformer and connect the 12 volts to the 12 volt winding of another 240 to 12 volt ac transformer. then connect it to a voltage doubler made from two capacitors and two diodes. (caps conected in series diodes conected in same direction, conect the striped end to the + of the caps non stripe to -.put the transfo output to the middle of the caps and the middle of the diodes.out is from the + of one cap to the - of the other.does 1700mf 500v in 10sec.
@jdflyback I am going to use a ZVS driver with a rewound secondary coil on a ferrite core from a flyback. That way I can use my lead acid battery's to charge them and it will be relatively portable for a coil gun use outside in the summer ( : Plus my parents said no to mains-powered home-made circuits.
@MrSciencetificsasuke Yep, its one of those disposable camera circuits which is why it took too long to charge. I am going to make a charger using a rewound flyback and ZVS driver eventually with a bridge rectifier connected to the secondary. That way I can use my lead acid battery's to charge it nice and quick lol. Problem is the capacitors used in disposable cameras are only meant for short term use before they go bad.

@Jhfgsjdcd I think used around 26-28 SWG magnet wire taken from an old CRT TV's de-guessing coil. A video will probably be uploaded by the weekend.

Dude charge your caos with ur flyback use a 2n3055 circuit with one 12 batt
Jhfgsjdcd 1 month ago
@Jhfgsjdcd Voltage will be too high for the bank, plus the 2n3055 is a very inefficient driver anyway.

Sorry about the pre-roll ads, youtube enabled them by default for some reason.

wow! i didn't know you could do that with a AA

@Kurtreidable This is more portable lol, plus my parents would probably be annoyed if I tripped the MCB or RCD at the consumer unit ( :

@twirlywirly555 thanks, 2180uF @ 330v max (although it was not fully charged up here).
