I went to the Gerry Ray Band website. It appears to me that there are two "Gene Clarks". In the credits for their Gene Clark there's no mention of The Byrds.
This Gene Clark currently plays in the Gerry Ray Band. From the gerryrayband dot com bio page:
Gene Clark has been in the music business from an early age, receiving his first guitar at age eleven. In the last decade he has been a part of many bands such as 'The Specialist', 'The Robin Sorrell Band' and Kalamity Springs Band' as well as 'Robin Sorrell's Little Big Band'. Then in 1997 Gene formed the 'Cruzin' Country Band' with Tony Douglas and Ted Walker.
