I just replaced my GTX 260 with a Saphire HD 5870 Vapor X and its a beast thats runs much cooler and quieter and slightly faster than even the stock 5870. Now we are seeing more after market overclocked 5870s at lower prices. Before you even think about either of the newer brands, you might want to consider some of the recent 5870s

Depends on the game, some are very cpu-heavy, others aren't at all. Most likely thing for you to happen though, is that your GPU will be slightly bottlenecked in most games.
