Is the Countryman Isomax II wireless? I've got a Fender 25 amplifier. could I connect it to that. And, how do you think it would sound with a Yamaha 221 flute? I also like to play along with cd's.Again, great flute playing Birnie!...

Simply great!...really enjoyed Bill McBirnie's super flute playing!. I noticed he put something onto his flute and can't figure what it is, but LOVED the sound he made with it.

Bill, if your reading this please tell me what's on the flute to make it sound so fabulous..again, your playing is superb!.

...The sound is actually much better live!...

Anyway, it is a high-quality clip-on condenser mic; namely, a Countryman Isomax II (with a hypercardiod pick-up pattern). I have been using it for probably 15 years. It never feeds back! Soundmen love it! And I learned a few years ago that this is what Ian Anderson has been using for decades...So I am obviously in good company in having made that choice!...

Only "classical" flutists are concerned with posture. Jazz flutists can play upside down in a bucket of jello with one arm tied behind their back.

Well, after the cops left, and I argued with my girl, I came home an listened to this. Such joy! Stick around Bill. You are my sanity.

...That's the nice thing about using a clip-on mic and not having to use a fixed mic/stand...I can move around!...

Also, this is a NON-classical playing environment...so the conventional rules and "posturing", if you will, do NOT apply! :-)

Thanks, RMPNG, but actually it sounds better in real life. I am using (1) a Haynes flute, (2) a Countryman Isomax II clip-on condenser mic and (3) a Galien-Kruger 200MV amp...so, believe me, it all sounds much better in real life!
