Thanks for posting this. Lived in Philly between 4-6 and Watched this, Captain Kangaroo and another local show called Hickory Dickory Doc-haven't been able to find that one though.
was pixanne based in philly? I loved Gene London too. and Sally Starr. Chief Halftown didnt come in as well- you had to keep adjusting the rabbit ears
@inputmodule Yes, at first only once a week (Sat morn) but her popularity grew so quickly,No Surprise there, that she went 5 days a week, then National. I have 2 CD's by her,One of various songs some original & one of Christmas/Holiday tunes. Both are Great!! I remember the 'Rabbit Ears' also!!
I love Pixanne! I grew up in the Philly burbs and remember her, Gene London, Captain Kangaroo and Sally Starr, among others. I'm still trying to remember the show about the underground worm family portrayed as puppets....not sure if this was a show that ran in conjunction with the Pixanne Show. Thanks for bringing back memories!
To Malcolmmoore1970, Thank You very very much for Posting this. I grew up in the Early 60`s and Love this. A Favorite show of mine as a kid. Can you Post some more Please. I Love Jane Norman. Thanks again.

My Mom watched Pixanne as a child. When we were little, she would sing "Welcome to the Forest" to my sister and I. She passed away a few years ago when I was 19. I have never been able to find this on the internet---not even the words. I'm afraid I'll forget the lyrics to it one day. Done anyone know where this can even be found? I'd be so appreciative.
I never thought I'd see pixanne again. Thank god for YouTube. I grew up watching her on channel 10 in Philly, along wif the gene London show. Great times these kids shows of the glorious 60s.
It has been almost half a century since I watched Pixanne. It was such a short time, back in 1963 when i lived in Chestertown, Md. I picked the signal from Philly. I would have forgotten "Windy the Witch" had she not been included in this clip. Ya know, now that I'm an old man instead of a young boy, I can understand why I had such a crush on her - lol! What wonderful memories! Thanks for posting this.

I lived in south Jersey from 1966-1967 and every city had its own local children'sTV shows. I went from Popeye & Knish, Ricky & Copper, and Paul Shannon in Pittsburgh to Philly's Pixanne, Sally Starr, Lorenzo, and Gene London (don't remember Chief Halftown). When I visited my grandparents in northern Jersey I watched Soupy Sales, Wonderama, Chuck McCann, Birthday House, and Sandy Becker--not to mention all the cartoons on Saturday mornings! I loved it all, thanks for uploading Pixanne!
The greatest and funniest moment on the Pixane Show was when jane was trying to show kids how to put out a fire with an extinguisher and the fire just would not go out and they finaly had to call the fire department afraid that channel 48 in philly was going to go up in flames.Priceless.sadely the kids today dont have this kind of wonderful programming, there to busy with there texting and sadely cannot communicate one on one with other people.
I loved this show. I went to see her in person at a local shopping center, The Merchandise Mart and it seemed magical to me that she appeared in person just as she did on tv, that she was "real". Wonderful times and memories.
Here in the Deleware Valley we had the greatest Local Celebrities of all time,Sally Starr,Gene London,Chief Halftown,Dickery Doc,Atom Android,Lorenzo the Clown,Al Alberts,Larry ferrari, and of course Jane Norman.Hi Janie...
The gentleman..who performs the magic with "Pixanne"(Ms.Norman)was Mr.Jack McAdams.Who is sadly,no longer with us. Mr.Wesley Addis manipulated and voiced the puppets.
I loved Pixanne just like all of the other kids. Does anyone remember the cartoon (for lack of a better word),with real animals in it ? I think it was something like down by the river side.
I was a four year old guest on PixeAnne's show and recall asking the Star if Auggie the Owl was real. She kneeled down and explained quite patiently as I must have interrupted taping several times.
I punched in Pixanne and can't believe a clip popped up. I was 11 when this show came out kinda old for a show like this but, I still watched it. She's damned talented and this show would be a great kiddy show today. And yeah, I feel ancient.
I grew up in Trenton, and loved this show. I used to pretend to fly around my backyard. also loved a children's game show called something like "Shenanigans". Does anyone out there remember it?
I grew up in Trenton in the 50's-60's. These shows were broadcast out of Philly. I loved Pixanne, Gene London, Chief Halftown, Captain Kangaroo, Sally Star, Mr. GreenJeans and the 3 Stooges. God Bless them All.
Wow! Thanks for finding this clip. I watched this show when it was on. My greatest memory of this show was I watched this show the day after my brother was born.
I grew up watching this....it's amazing to be able to see a glimpse of these childhood memories that we thought were gone forever. THANKS for posting this!
Okay, so I'm new to youtube, as far as posting comments. I've tried posting a link with pictures of Jane and Gene, but for some reason, it didn't take. Could it be that we're not supposed to post links to other sites?
Let's try this instead. Type the following(exactly as written) in the Google search engine: Jane Norman Gene London Pictures

Thank you for posting this video. I remember watching this as a kid, back in the mid 60's in Philly. Jane Norman & the Cast visited Mifflin Elementary, when I was in the second or third grade; what a blast that was. My Family moved to So Cal in 66', and I missed seeing this show, as well as Sally Starr, Chief Halftown and Gene London's Cartoon Corners Store (always thought it was called Cartoon General Store, for some reason). I also missed Autumn and Winter; still do, to this day.
I remember this show when it aired on Channel 10. Back then, there were more locally-produced early morning shows before the network's daytime lineups.
Nowadays in the morning, it's nothing but news, news, and more news. Good Morning America, the Today Show, and the Early Show.
Oy, just found Pixanne(Jane Norman)'s website...it's just not fair that she looks like she's barely aged! One of my favorite stories about my late father-in-law was of him dragging all the kids (my husband, his brother, & sister) to meet Pixanne...not because they wanted to go, but because he had a crush on her.
In one of the summers '72, '73, or '74, I met her at Earl Clark's Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster PA, in costume and all. She was very nice and appealing. I don't think I had ever heard of her before that, though.
I loved Pixanne so much! Grew up in Central Jersey where we got her on Cannel 10. Also Gene London. And does anyone remember The Prince Street Players?
Chief Halftown (and Chippy), Pixanne, Sally Starr, Gene London, Lorenzo, Wee Willie Webber and Cpt Noah...all made for an entertaining childhood in Philly. Did I leave any out?
I was born in '62 in south Jersey, so seeing Pixanne on Channel 10 is among my earliest memories! She was cheery, cute and friendly! Never sappy or condescending!
Thanks so much for your nice comments, and I'm glad you enjoyed the Dandelion clip. It's one of my favorites, as well. Have a very Happy New Year! -Pixanne
Pixanne was way before her years. I met her as a child in the 70s, What a nice person. I loved the clip of her singing with the dandalion. Thanks Jane.
