  • 3:22 on a scratch?

  • @cupster33 holy shit your sharp

  • Gee, a scratch on a used gun.....at least you know A, it was not a safe queen, and B, the previous owner field stripped and cleaned it. I'll take a scratch anyday over a poorly cared for firearm. My 1911 45 ACP has 2 scratches on it and the usual holster wear on the frame, it shoots well and is fully cleaned after each firing. Even though that scratch guard is yellow I'll bet it's easy to loose !

  • @LMHS63 yea I don't intend to go hiking through a yellow forest with it or anything tho..lol

  • Great design and you needed the factory to

send you that little piece of plastic? It's no surprise

it took them until 1983 to put in a firing pin roller block

safety which had been around since 1928, and they

still haven't figured out what a decocker is for. DA

    all the way......

  • @SuperDdy you like that double dildo action in your ass eh??..lol

piece of crap but beats a rock if you're not too big on safety.

DA all the way......not a fan & no offense intended if you got sold,

    hope you live to learn.

  • @SuperDdy your stupid enough to think that kimber is out there sending these things to people, holy shit... human kind has no fucking hope with people like you running around, well little red riding hood had you watched even the first 30 sec you would have found out it was a gift from a friend..lol...go back to nutnfancy's page and don't come back

  • I really enjoy my firearms and don't mind spending the $ for a gun I feel fits my desires, but my desires actually involve using the gun. A gun is a tool and if you are afraid of scratching that tool, then you should put it away in a little box and never touch it.

Oh god look out that gun has a scratch, it must not be able to operate with a scratch like that, it is so bad the gun may even blow up if you fire it!

I don't see the military concerned about scratches, guess they are that bad

  • @ZombiePreparedness its a gift from a friend little girl,

  • I'd rather just keep my taurus, saved money and hit what im aiming at.

Kimbers are like Harleys, you pay for a name and not much more.....

and yes i have owned both , what a waste of money.

I'll ride my Kawasaki to the range and fire my PT 809 9mm

  • @BR0KENT0YS0LDIER there's always someone that enjoys sub par items

  • @lskw1 I dont have any "IDIOT" scratches firearms.

But if you wanna over pay for a "Pretty boy toy" that's on you Bro.

im an Army Vet and would rather have 17 rounds instead of 8 round from a high maintainance toy

  • @BR0KENT0YS0LDIER I was a Marine, 3 tours in Iraq, I have seen Army marksmanship, your right, they do need the 17 rounds...lol..Also I think if you were a regular to my channel you would have known that this gun was purchase by me used with the scratches already there, and this tool was a gift from a friend, and I was doing the company a favor by making a video about it, that is all

  • why are the scratches a big deal?

  • @defragen1 come here i'll put a big one across your face than you can tell me..lol

  • @defragen1 rust dude.. its a breach in the coat

  • @kyoskei don't socialize with retards, it usually ends with you getting mad and them eating a big block of cheese

  • Does the bigger the scratch mean the bigger the idiot??? Cause if it does it must mean I am a HUGE idiot. lol

  • I'll get a laminated sheet of paper thanks.

  • @xboxsteven prolly where the idea came from. your welcome

  • I wouldn't mind one of those to try out since I want to keep my 1911 looking nice since its parkerized and not for self defense but target mostly. Now if it was a defense gun i prob wouldn't worry about scratches unless unplanned on reselling it

  • It's a gun, who fucking cares if it has a scratch on it? I don't think anyone your aiming it at is looking for scratches.

  • @Majik518 you don't own a gun i guess

  • Haha, I just checked my own 1911... guess I'm an idiot, too.

  • @Hungryman97 lol

  • @lskw1 Really do wish the military would go back to the standard colt 1911 for a service firearm. Specops can keep the meusoc i dont really like it but the original colt 1911a1 frame is probably the most legit firearm ive ever handled or fired.

  • @Relovance i understand, but i would want something that is double stacked in combat

  • That's happen because you don't have a glock lol

  • @TheLafranyie i guess that would be the case if i had made the scratch in the fist place..lol.. but umm i def got glock

  • @lskw1 Looks like he was pushing the ejector without the cylinder hanging fully open thus making the spent shells scratch along the frame as they were ejecting. It's not real bad, I can polish it out I'm sure. I guess the moral of the story would be learn to properly operate a firearm before using it, you might screw something up! :)

  • @phantomshtter yea that right there is just dumb

  • I just looked at my GI Springfield 1911 and I definitely have the idiot scratch. I also have some some blood and hair follicles where I bashed an Iraqis head in with it.

  • @hcdub thats what the fuck im talking about!!!!!

  • I did the idiot scratch many years on my 1st 1911 . I did a number on it , this would've been handy.

  • @rcruz003 its a neat little piece but alot of people are freeking out about this and being real negative towards the whole thing

  • After seeing this vid last week I bought a pack of these. They are great! Well worth the $10 to protect my Kimber. THANKS

  • @hdtruckguy cool man glad your enjoying them

  • @hdtruckguy you could just make your own.

  • @lskw1 I just get pissed off because there's a whole plethora of stupid myths about the 1911 - like how one must have the most expensive equipment there is, or that the most expensive stuff is better, etc. Half the time, it has more to do with the fit than the name on the slide.

  • @lskw1 And the question is whether you really need one of those expensive, super-accurate 1911s? Yeah maybe if you're hitting the range, or you can afford to buy a piece like that and scratch it all up and put it through hard use, but again, a bone stock GI Springer or Rock will do the job too. Not as accurate. Not as nice to look at, but they work. I've owned both and they went bang every time.

  • @lskw1 Well I just don't see the point in buying one of those high-dollar 1911s unless you're using it on the range all the time or keeping it in a display case to look at. I just think that Colts, Springfields, S&W's, Kimbers, Rock Island, STI's, etc, are better values. If I want something that will shoot a 2" group, yeah a Wilson Combat will probably give me that, but my $500 Springer GI and my $900 Loaded will do the job just fine for a fraction of the price.

  • @xhogger129x i hear ya, this kimber i picked up used with the scratches already on there, and a friend of mine gave me that piece as a gift so i figured fuck i'll do a vid on it, and all these losers are freeking out saying its just a scratch and a gun is a tool and blah blah....so come spring time im going to mow the lawn with my AK..

  • @lskw1 You can get it refinished too. Like I'm sure you know, but they make Duracoat and you can take it to a smith and have it refinished.

  • @xhogger129x Too late now, I sold this gun 2 days ago

  • @xhogger129x

A GI 1911 has a crappy hammer and beavertail safety. It may do the same job, but hammer bite is a bitch. Ill spend the extra bucks and get a 1911 with more features and a company with a better rep. Will I get a Wilson? Hell no..... Would I get one if i could afford it? Hell yes. Look at it like a car.... there is a reason luxury brands exist.

  • @xhogger129x

A GI 1911 has a crappy hammer and non- beavertail safety. It may do the same job, but hammer bite is a bitch. Ill spend the extra bucks and get a 1911 with more features and a company with a better rep. Will I get a Wilson? Hell no..... Would I get one if i could afford it? Hell yes. • @Thereisonlythetruth you don't know anything about guns do you

  • @Thereisonlythetruth I tried changing a tire yesterday with my M1A, and it just didn't work out very well

  • i dont think idiot scratch is the proper term for this....more like factory gunsmith fuck up.

  • @Bmwood121 ummm yea

  • @mjmcg no what i really need is an idiot comment preventor...lol

  • did he took the slide off whit out using the slide noch

  • @zacharydelgado don't know

  • @luap82099 Thank you. I agree. I often wonder if people get so freaked out about their flathead screw drivers ,i see so many goofy people on yt that want to get into fist fights over some one telling them that their guns suck ,wonder if these same people will fight for saying their crescent wrench sucks ,People got to remember its a Tool

  • @luap82099 In the case of the idiot sctach on a 1911, its not just a scratch...It illustrates that someone does not know how to reinstall the slide stop.

  • @slt223 i see what your saying, but knowing how and making a mistake are different, especially if you just cleaned it and you have a little residual oil on your hands

  • The worst scratch was the first one. Now my weapon is unique. It is mine, there are none like it.

  • @oostanalua i hear ya

  • @luap82099 A GUN IS NOT A TOOL, IT IS A WEAPON, DESIGNED TO KILL, A TOOL IS WHAT YOU USE TO TIGHTEN A DOOR KNOB...AND I DON'T WANT MY KILL STICK ALL SCRATCHED UP SO GET OVER IT

  • @lskw1 That's not true at all. I use an M16 to prune my trees.

  • @slt223 pretty shitty gun to use for that

  • @subeyguy66 were you one of the bums from bum fights?

  • it sucks but yes I put the idiot scratch on my frame! On my S&W E-series Stainless version! It sucks to be an IDIOT!

  • @MrByronodmon lol that sucks!

  • ....i hope he didnt pay for that.... a piece of tape works better....you only need to protect where it will rub/scratch.... if using tape you also have a free hand to compress the plunger tube...use a small screwdriver if your having trouble

  • @TeamLeaderPG naah i think he got it for free as well..i just do it the old fashioned way but if i still have a lil bit of oil on my hands its a nice item to have

  • I picked up a 1911 when i turned 21, and put a nice scratch on her. I love going to the range with it and letting people rib me about it, and then out shooting them. It is a lot of fun. Do i wish I had not scratched it? HELL YES, but you just have to own it. I remember doing it and saying well I just learned that the hard way.

  • youtube needs an "idiot comment protection tool" or add on,so many dumb people

  • @SCSpictures yep!

  • Cool video. And dont listen to the people on here giving you crap about it. The best part of being a firearm enthusist is sharing tips and tricks with the rest of the community for the better of the sport. I have had my smith 1911 for a four or five years now and put a small but noticable idiot mark on the frame. I love shooting it, and plan on keeping it forever so I really dont care about the value that much, but if I had a Colt Gold cup or something like that Im sure I would be more carful.

  • @motorcycleguy451 people on youtube know everything though didn't you know that :))

  • @motorcycleguy451 people on youtube know everything though didn't you know that :))

  • @motorcycleguy451 the world is full of losers sometimes...thanks for watching man

  • Great video. I don't understand why all these jackasses are giving you a hard time about it.

  • @rhcmlc cause there so coooool

  • we always used a piece of the side of a beer can and it's FREE

  • That mar gives it character. Kimber Grand Raptor II. The best of the best shows signs of use.

  • @DobermansRock just tryin to help out a small buisness in the USA

  • @lskw1 I understand. Some people do not like character on their guns.

  • @illuzion54 if everyone was as badass as you.. the world would be a cooler place

  • @lskw1 theres much truth in that, its hard work but i try... but its really amazing what a little bit of common sense will do for you.. especially in regards to the "idiot scratch"

  • @illuzion54 it was a gift from a friend, just trying to help out an american company..

  • Cool good job!

  • @TheDrpaloda thanks

  • Nice gun.

  • @Cr0cket20 thanks

  • lol what if you already have the idiot scratch

  • @captiancarnagee try hard not to have any more..lol

  • Can't you just insert the slide lock straight in, instead of swinging it?

I've never has any kind of issue....

  • @skyhop yep you can, but on some it doesn;t push in very easy unless you swing it

  • @bullhavinfun you dont seem to understand the need to care for a weapon, i have a colt 1911 that is my everyday carry, and while a scratch isnt the end of the world, some people just like to care for their weapons, this video actually led me to buy one, and i love it, so why dont you quit being a troll and go play with your airsoft guns in moms backyard

  • @RapidPlague lol.. your way was much nicer....

  • Alternatively, don't swing your slide stop in an arc. Or use a business card. Or a piece of tape.

  • @Vincerama business card is a good idea

  • you sound like Joe Rogan...

  • @Jaymn2589 lol so do i say thank you or fuck you...lol

  • man... that is an awesome looking gun.

  • @Kclaybond thanks!

  • is there any way to fix the scratch once u get it?

  • @CptBongbreaker yea call the manufacturer, see if they'll take it back to re finish it

  • @lskw1 Or save you rmoney and just live with the scratch!

  • Thats a cool little protector. I really work hard to prevent that scratch but i know one day ill slip lol

  • @stainlessfour5 it seems to happen when u least expect it

  • mine already has it from previous idiot...

  • @COLT45keith same here..lol

  • Very nice, always good to have a tool that will help prevent and unnecessary scratches to your weapon.

  • @Semiautomaticshooter right on

  • Cool tool fool. Wish I had a 1911...

  • @8bitdigitaltv if you don't have a 1911.. your GAY!!

  • @lskw1 I'd respond to that, but there are flowers that need to be frolicked through

  • @Chromefreak123 the Kimber is the idiot prevention tool ;D

  • That's pretty cool. It's awesome the way some companies look out for the retards lol

  • @thestubby0032 I know right..lol

  • I just snap mine in, since I scratched my frame the first time during reassembly. Good prevention though.

  • @pr4runner no biggie, they look better used

  • I only have those on my used 45's :) Looks like a great tool ! I'm all about the right tool for the right job ....

  • @krazy45cat exactly

  • @theArmedJanitor right on man

  • I'll have to check mine again. I don't think my Colt 70 series has a scratch there :)

  • @ArtisanTony it better not, cause if it does, your an idiot..lol

  • wow that is a great thing to have man. Lord knows I could have used one for my Kimber, because it showed that I was a BIG Idiot! lol

  • @mrlaminin lol i remember seeing yours like that..lol.. but guns look better used than brand new

  • @mrlaminin That brought tears to my eyes :(

  • @mrlaminin did u ever get it fixed?

  • Why didn't I think of this simple invention? Marbles is a good dude. Nice kimber bro

  • @prchico520 if this little piece takes off im sure you really would wish you were the one who thought of it..lol...its always the real easy things that the majority seems to overlook.

  • Pretty swift, I seen Marbles video also, great little tool. I wonder of we can come with an idiot prevention tool to go along with idiot scratch prevention tool. lol.great video Frank.

  • @ChromeFreak123 i know right

  • I feel so restricted when I have my comments pending approval ... just saying

  • @GlockPunisher1 its easier for me to find them and respond to them, sorry you feel that way

  • @lskw1 I was messing bro! I know there are stupid ppl with stupid intention and that is a good idea man I miss soooo many reponses the eay I have it set up

  • meh, just use that piece of plastic to depress the plunger. Insert slide stop, take off piece of plastic, done.

  • Those are great little tools. I have had to repair so many idiot scratches for myself and for other people.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal there def worth the price, so if this has happened to you multiple times is it safe to say your an idiot?....lol just messin with ya man

  • @lskw1 That question was uncalled for...I think I have proven time and time again on here that I am indeed an idiot.

  • That's a great lil tool man, I'm sure we've all fumbled with the slide stop n nicked or scratched the frame at some point. Def worth it.

  • @CarmineZDA12NV totally worth it !!

  • It is simple and it works! Something else to throw in the cleaning kit! Thanks for the vid bro!

  • @Lookinformemarbles right on.. thanks again man.. seriously.. i really appreciate that

  • that's really funny. have you seen the idiot scratch on the AK 47? the upper hand guard/gas tube lever that you have to rotate UP to remove the hand guard. the idiot scratch happens when idiot rotates that lever DOWN, and then back up.

  • @barnettzack lol yea seen those...

  • i have the same scratch on my springfield...it sucks $1100 gun

  • @Blk05titan26 call springfield man.. there the best out there for taking care of their own product,

  • Man with the price of one of those guns that problem should have been addressed during production. You shouldn't need that thing to prevent scratches. Kimber fail. Only my opinion man.

  • @GlockPunisher1 if i was smart enough to fix that issue, i would

  • @lskw1 You'd be a rich man!!

  • Pretty cool :)

  • @robbie574 it really is man.. and its so simple..lol

  • thats pretty sweet actually. if i had a 1911 i'd get one.

  • @chaos311clarity if you don't own a 1911,,,your GAY!!!..lol

  • That's pretty cool man.... Dam good idea

  • @JoeDaddy40 you got that right

  • very ingenious, pretty cool

  • @brotherskeepers111 isn't it tho..lol

  • man that is real kewl

  • @42cujo right on

  • i love your 1911

  • @ChrisreadIRL thank you sir

  • Someone needs to introduce a simple idiot scratch repair kit! That would be sweet. I let my dad try to reassemble my 1911 once and the first thing he did was push the slide release HARD against the slide.. IScratch. I kina like it though.. haha

  • @noBuzzkillin it makes it look like its been there done that..lol

  • I am digging the 1911 ISP ... great easy tool to prevent everyones nice 1911's from staying scratch free! Simple yet very effective!

  • @kwgunworks K.I.S.S.

  • Cool.

  • when I get a 1911 I will probably pick one up.

  • @willwood487 its wanna those things where your like, "why didn't I think of that?"..lol
