Wow...watching this video was like listening to myself talk out loud. I live here in New Jersey, they passed the FSC law here in Jan. 2009. Around Mar. 2009 I started feeling very sick, it started with allergies, then led to having extreme panic/anxiety attacks. I had panic attacks previous to this, but not as severe or as long. Throbbing headaches in the back of my head, muscle tightness, and my chest feels like I've gotten punched 20 times. All doctors said "anxiety". I don't think so.

I was amazed to find out about fire safe cigarettes and the use of Ethylene Vinyl Acetate a horrible substance that should not be ingested. Smoking was making me sooo sick that I was desparate for help to quit. In Florida there is a quit line that will send you stop smoking aids and councel you. I found a link for laser therapy, I called right away got in right away and haven't smoked since. My stomach is still all messed up but I have hope that having stopped smoking it will heal.

I roll my own usually, but today I bought a packet. I got so sick from two cigarrettes, I was coughing and sneezing, and they tasted so foul, I threw out the packet. I don't want to risk smoking these. There's something terrible in them, and the government and tobacco companies are holding back information.

If you can't give up, I'd recommend getting a rolling machine and rolling your own, with a filter or two. It's way healthier.

Yes i smoke roll ups but i do buy ready made cigs when i go down the pub. yes. my chest felt tight. i got wheezy....like really wheezy. headaches. my upper chest and lower throat broke out like a hive. they tasted like ass. and for some reason the cigarettes still burn in an ash tray but go out in your hand if you don't constantly puff in it. I've only been smoking for about two years now, but lately when I have my usual morning cigarrette I get a headache and it's not like it goes away it stays for the whole day, so I've been taking so many OTC pain killers for it, and I cough all the time now. Smoked since 12 years old now 56, 44 years. Suddenly last few months big switch from feeling reasonably good most of the time to regualr bouts with nausea, weakness, dizzy, extreme fatigue.

Thought my non filter roll your owns might be it. Been smokng a lot of the FSC filtered cigs in the same time period the unexpained attacks started occuring.

Yeah, I have the same problem, they make my chest feel tight too, and I can't smoke nearly as many as I used to without feeling completely out of breathe. My saliva will become really thick and it will be hard to breathe. The taste is pretty bad but I've thought that since about '06 when I started smoking. I live in MI by the way. I stockpiled my Non FSCs and have been fine since, until the other day I bought a pack because I only have 3 good packs of cigarettes left. They tasted bad, but not as bad as the first fsc. I thought maybe I was making a big deal over nothing and they're not that much worse for you. I started to think I could cope with them, other people are still smoking. But I did start coughing up really thick "carpet glue". It's been 3 days and I'm still coughing alot even though I'm smoking non FSCs again.

I get bad headaches, a sore throat especially when I exhale and my tonsils swell up. They taste like crap. I don't know why some people are unaffected. holy shit......i had heart pains/racing heartbeat last week after smoking the FSCs for a month. one morning i woke up and had a sharp heart pain everytime i would breath out for a few minutes. The FSC started in Florida or I noticed in around Sept 2009. I ended up in the ER 3 times because I couldn't breathe. All tests came back normal. Other things sinus infections one after another. Tired feeling. Needless to say I stopped smoking because I realized it was the FSC cigs. and my chest felt like it was being crushed and I wanted that feeling to stop. If you stop smoking FSC you will feel better they are poison.

To finish up what i was saying in the other comment is that not only they added the FSC paper, there is something in the tobacco. If you can find a pack with a V and R smell each pack, smoke and taste and notice the big difference. Seems to me its an extra Chemical that they are adding or simply we are smoking something else other than tobacco. I cant find anymore R's i have been smoking V's for the past 3 days and yes im getting sick again from these nasty cigarettes.

What i noticed with Marlboro and Basics. There are batch number on the bottom of every pack i have seen some that start with letters C, R, or V. C is non FSC which has been the best for years, i have seen Rs, and Vs with and with out FSC. R's are not the same as C's but no difference between FSC and NON. And finally the V's they are bad with and with out FSC. They smell, they taste diffrent and make people sick. ITs hard to find any that are R's anymore because they are being replaced

I too was ill from FSC(Reds). In brief FSC have increased chems and Ethyl Vinyl Acetate is used in the "FSC speed bumps" of the cig paper-EVA is very toxic when burned. These two things combined are affecting taste and making you sick. If you can't quit, smoke only American Spirit Cigs. I wrote the company and they told me they use 100% additive free tobacco, flax(plant based) paper and their "speed bump" in FSC is made from food safe natural starch derived from seaweed. NO MORE ILLNESS SINCE.

Hey folks! Here is how you get non FSC smokes.

I started by going to a tobacco shop and got a box of cigarette tubes and some natural tobacco. I got a little hand injector.

I make my own now.

They taste better, cost less and I actually feel better than when I was smoking those damn FSC smokes.

It only takes a few minutes a day to pack your own, and you know exactly whats going into yours!

No, unfortunately other states have not pulled FSC from the shelves. FSC is the only type of cigarettes you can obtain except for some of the northern plain states, that have left overs (ie, Montana, Wyoming). Other than that FSC is everywhere, and here to stay. EVA copolymer is what is in those strips, and is now being found mixed in with the tobacco shag.

The fsc butts are the reason I quit cold turkey two weeks ago. I noticed the mettalic taste right away and it was only more pronounced because you have to chain smoke them to keep them lit. To make it even easier for me to quit (I smoked 2 packs a day) Massachusetts taxed them up to almost 8 dollars a pack. It wasn't the easiest thing to do but I know I will never smoke another cigarette.

I'm not a full time smoker, usually just when I drink at a party, but even then when I smoke an FSC, I do feel almost sick and most times cannot even finish the cigarette. On another note, when I smoked a hand-rolled cigarette from a friend of mine, which contained naturally grown tobacco, I had no ill-effects.
