  • Although He was known for his assists - A few years ago I looked at the combination of 2 point, 3 point and freethrow percentages. According to that combination, He was the best shooter in the NBA.

  • He's a good speaker.

  • u should be taking advice from ray allen and kobe bryant

  • epic look 1:28

  • should have told me that 15 years ago.

  • its funny because he said dirk has great beautiful form, lol

  • Steve Nash you are legit! One of the best pure shooters this league has seen!! You would be a top 20 all time if you weren't stuck in Phx your whole career. Stand up and demand out of Phx!!

  • Terrible.

  • what would he know about putting his hand in the rim?

  • how come in nba 2k12 he looks like a retard?

  • somebody show this to Rondo...

  • @pannyrocker I can't even comprehend how someone like Rondo can go through their entire life playing basketball and never correct their shooting form. Shit is ridiculous. Everyone in the NBA should be shooting at least 60%, it's called practice.

  • @macryan19 I half agree. Not everybody can shoot 60%, but I can't get myself to respect a guard who can't shoot to save his life. It's not the shooting form that I mind though, Marion has an ugly shooting form, but is shooting okay for a PF.

  • @pannyrocker Marion would shoot much better with a better shooting form. The key is to learn the best shooting form when young. It takes a lot of repetition to become a great shooter. The definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Improve your form, then shoot, shoot, shoot. With enough repetition using the correct form, ANYBODY can shoot 70% from the free throw line.

  • 1:28 Murder look

  • i was taught BEEF in middle school

    B-Balance

    E-Elbow

    E-Eyes

    F-Follow through

  • @gamerpro4268 haha funny ...D-Wade video right?

  • @gamerpro4268 i use that when im masturbating and watching porn

  • @Aerochalklate plus porn is called beef too,,

  • @Aerochalklate that's a good one

  • So we know how he got better on shooting ......He couldn't stop putting his hands in the cookie Jar........XD

  • That's what Shawn Marion never does :)

  • at 1:28 he looked creepy

  • I am a right handed shooter, when I shoot my thumb on my left hand like flicks the ball, don't really know how to stop doing it now because I have been doing it for so long

  • @1995Bball1995 Practice shooting one-handed. Once you get the ball into your shooting pocket (what Nash refers to as that "L" shape) take your left hand off. Not only will this stop you from flicking the ball with your left thumb, but it will also force you to keep your right elbow in and underneath the ball.

  • Don't flick your wrist, you can't control the ball. Keep your hand and wrist relaxed, letting them flop a little with your release

  • @MrFullComposure I tried that for a bit did the opposite the ball kept going to my pinkie and kept going to right too much. Went back to my nroaml flick form and my shot came back. Goes to show that different things work for different people.

  • He's not strange. He's humble!

  • this guy deserves a ring. OKC and newyork, need to be working his cell 24-7 !!!!!!

  • Cookie jar, yay

  • he explains it so well

  • your elbow doesnt matter if its too the side or straight. ask reggie miller. look at his shot. Peja Stojakovic shots the ball from right to left. all that matter is your base, shoot it, follow through

  • @jaywilson18

not so much that it doesn't matter, but the L shape is the suggested form because then the arm is just putting the ball up and forward. "Elbows out" creates some force from the sides as well. If you practice, you can become adept that way as well, but the "easy" way is with the L.

  • @jaywilson18 Yeah you must be some jump shooter if you think that

  • Shaquille O'neal clicked twice "Don't like"...

  • is this steve nashes house

  • Its really strange! When he was mentioning GREAT shooters he didn't mention himself 0_0

  • @FISHURMOMBALL Lmao. ur ryt.. :D

  • @FISHURMOMBALL not a great shooter compared to those guys! lol

  • @chris23duke He always shoots a pretty high percentage.

  • @FISHURMOMBALL he's way too modest to mention himself... thats why ppl love him so much

  • @FISHURMOMBALL That's cause he considers himself the GREATEST SHOOTER OF ALL TIME! KApow!

  • @FISHURMOMBALL Because he isnt selfish

  • @FISHURMOMBALL just being modest

  • @FISHURMOMBALL Not strange at all...it's Steve Nash, the most unselfish person in sports. Just the opposite of Nick Diaz.

  • @FISHURMOMBALL he's either too modest...or thats a given :D

  • @FISHURMOMBALL One of the best free throw shooters of all time

  • I shot 20/20 using this technique

  • @auburnriversideBball Really?? or only a joke..

  • @pascuajoeljan No joke my friends dad showed me it and told me he learned it from this video

  • why the fuck put music in an instructional video so you cant really hear what the guy says...RETARD...

  • my elbow is double jointed, is that a bad thing if i want to become a good shooter?

  • @HeLLRaVeN19 yes

  • @HeLLRaVeN19 Yes. You should start playing chess, where ur elbow won't be much of a factor. :)))) Seriously though, as long as ur elbow does not skew the natural alignment of elbow and shoulder (like jason kidd's elbow) u would be fine. To help find ur shooting form, you can 2 things. First, practice shooting w/o rim (just shooting the ball up) with just one hand. The only rule is that the ball should come right back down w/o u having to move ur feet and hands. Continued..

  • @dungdungpolo in the time where i posted my above comment, i have adjusted my shot and have got a good form, thanks for the comment regardless though :)

  • After doing the shooting w/o the rim for some time, u will notice that ur feet are staggered, allowing ur elbow, shoulder, and head to almost align straight. Alignment of all three parts will not be possible if you set ur feet squared (not staggered). The second technique is by shooting one handed w/ a basket. Start from 4 feet away. U can do ur freethrow ritual (few dribbles) while u find ur stance, then catch the ball with ur shooting hand w/o help from ur off-hand, take it above....

  • above ur head, then shoot it. Remember, all of this (including the dribbling) must be done only using the shooting hand. Don't think about ur feet, by trying to shoot one handed, ur body will automatically adjust. Try to make 3 perfect baskets (no rim) before increasing the distance by 2 feet. Goodluck
