I just loved this claymation. You should win a price or something like that. This was the best claymation i ever seen. And i've seen many. I love the gothic style you put into it.
@dikaks Thank You Very Much! I have entered this into film festival but it hasn't won any awards. Though I may appreciate hearing how much people love and appreciate my animations more than an award. I'm currently working on longer films. I hope you enjoy them as much as my shorter work. Thank you again for the kind words!
@hasaniwalker your welcome. I wanna be just like you. But my clamation are weird. Someday if I put my work in the net. You will be the first persong seeing it :)
@dikaks I look forward to seeing your work someday. Animation is always a challenge but it's always worth it. And with every work you do it'll only get better. Keep creating animations and never be afraid to experiment, some times you'll come away with something strange and amazingly wonderful to look at. Those are usually the best ones.
Wow this is awesome!!! I am a film student at university and want to make a stop motion just for fun and experience as I would love to work in it. How do you make the figures?? Is it plastercine?? It looks so shiny haha so did you cover it was clear nail varnish or something haha?? Do you know of any books or websites which would give me a start on making the models?? I loved your film though - soooooo cute and also a little funny :D
@Annette11155 you can use a large jewelry bead and move it with a poker like Wallace and Gromit. Another method I use is sculpting out the eye, placing vaseline on it, and then sliding a pupil made of paper or clay on it. You'll find that method in a lot of stop-motion as well. I've heard of glass eyes being used such as in Return To Oz but I'm not sure how you would go about doing that. I hope this was helpful.
I think the moral is there's always a resolution to your actions. I mean, she got annoyed and snipped the mouth in two. She realized what she did was wrong, and fixed it.
It kinda reminds me of how people put on a face every day and be someone they are not because people will accept them the way they want them. Sure you might know more people, but the real you will make you cry everytime you put that face on.... :p
Normally I can figure this stuff out, but I couldn't with this. Is there some type of message or moral to this? It's a great animation, but i was just curious.
@BecauseAlexWasBored I've seen and heard many interesting interpretations for this short. As a storyteller I'd rather leave it to the viewer rather than spoil it. I'm glad you like the animation, this one is still important to me.
That's amazingly beautiful and quite haunting for a stop motion. I mean, a simple enough idea, but you managed to twist it into something unordinary and unique
@ConsumedByWonder Sara is a very simple puppet. She has an aluminum wire skeleton and her body is foam covered with cloth. her hands are rubber while her head is a bakeable clay. eyebrows and lips were plasticine clay.
@hasaniwalker Oh, thats interesting I tried to make a doll kinda of like that style but instead of foam on her body there is bakible clay also like her head but how did you make the rubber hands?

I just found this now. Why not earlier? It's great and I got really shocked when the blood came out her mouth like that. Incidentally, what language do the lips speak? Is it german? Thanks and great work x x x
thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the film. the lips that are snipped speak german while the other speaks french. there were going to be more languages but I didn't want to clutter the scene.
woah! I need to check these comments more often, sorry for the late response. the mouth that's cut speaks german while the other mouth speaks french. I actually did the voices so I'm not sure how well my language was, but so far no one's complained :D
I don't actually, I only learned the parts needed for the film. I do plan on learning sometime as the films I'm currently working on seem to lean towards more subtitled work. that and I enjoy it.
Aww i felt sorry for her when she regreted cutting her lips and i cnt see like a moral meaning behind this (thats probs just me) but sometimes the character alone is good enough. Well done
Made me augh when the mouth was like "SARAH!"...and she jogged her eyebrow line
