  • therefore, hence, thus

basicly all the same means 'in conclusion'

    dont mention it :)

  • @Southportzz

Uhh no lol... hence does not mean "in conclusion"

  • @Southportzz yup i got this from Logic class B7 lol

  • thence is so my word lol

  • 'hence' is my fancy 'so' ;)

  • hence means therefore

  • @Oscar847 no, it means in conclusion

  • @Oscar847 well i guess it means therefore aswell, but in my opinion it means more "in conclusion". i know they're pretty much the same but it's dif the way i see it

  • @Aaronx3Sally

    meh..

i'd rather not use it in an essay

  • "everything's changing"

"I know, we;re losing ross... joey said hence..."

  • This just cracked me up, because I didn't know the word "hence" until three days ago when I was reading this really serious philosophy book I couldn't find in my native language and it had "hence" in every single page... so when Joey said that I was like "Hence? From when Joey uses such words?" and then Chandler said exactly the same lol

  • joeyyyyyyy s soooooooooooo cute <3

  • this is the show made me learn the word of "hence" lol

  • whats hence

  • @juliug "therefore"

  • damn this show is my life

  • Comment removed

  • @TheCharlesTolosa no it's cause hence means therefore and it was just suppossed to be something he picked up randomly and its weird because he's suppossed to be stupid.

  • im surprised that joey knows that word

  • :O He said 'hence'!

  • hahahaha

  • TO ALL YOU ENGLISH SPEAKING BASTARDS!!! Chill The Fuck OUT!!! Translators don't get the JOKE!!!

  • is this episode called "the one where joey says hence"?

  • alright i do get the joke, but that's only maybe i watched all the episodes and understand the context... but anyway people, just because someone doesn't understand, don't get judgmental on their intelligence, you have no right to.

  • @bagh98 Yet everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

    Which IS THEIR RIGHT TOO.

  • @Dj4Life777: cursing someone isn't really ''having an opinion''.

  • @bagh98 Lol, although if they were intelligent, they would understand....

  • oh lovable joey

  • How people can not understand this joke? Noobs ._.

  • @Jaumbertazzajm Really, I agree! English has never been my native language, but I laughed a lot on this joke, when I first watched it and I'd never think that native speakers would've had some difficulties in getting this quite a funny joke! "Hence" is a too formal word for Joey that's it! Poeple my advice is - read a lot of quality books in English.

  • that was surprising!!

  • HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

  • Hence=fancy "so".

  • @RamiroR no it's not. Not in this case anyway

  • @Akoan92

    "thus"?

  • @FuckFaceUnited2000 My idea of you in a nutshell!!

  • @KurosakiSamster I don't intend to listen to anyone with a username like that...maybe it's named after his mum?

  • @Skelex20 LOL Probably is....People who think friends is boring either

    1)Dont understand proper english

2)Live in a VERY dark place and no hope can reach them. I think this guys both of the above.

  • @FuckFaceUnited2000 why would you think that? its funny and not many programes are showed in this way and its unique i LOVE friends!!

  • @GeekyGirl1011 awww i'm only kidding, friends is pretty funny sometimes, especially joey and chandler, but rachels a bitch and phoebe's annoying

  • @FuckFaceUnited2000 agreed with you and rachel soo can be like that but without one of them the show wouldnt be the show ;) OMG u have GOT to love Ross, he can be crazy at times but funny!

  • @GeekyGirl1011 yeah i think ross was pretty under-rated, he was a bit whiney but could be pretty funny at times, specially when he went mental about his sandwich lol he deserved better than that cunt rachel - she was too posessive and controlling

  • @FuckFaceUnited2000 hahah! " You threw my sandwich away MY SANDWHICH MYSANDWICH *birds fly away* " LOL!! yhh Rachel is soooo uptight!! and she can be VERY possesive but as an actor shes a good actor

  • loves it

  • omgg wow the second most rate comment is 123 thumbs up haha ...wow i need a life ...

  • LMFAOOOO I COULDNT STOP LAFFING FOR AHLF HOUR BCOZ OF THISSS

  • aha i love joey

  • I <3 Friends

  • yes but english is not everyone's native language... So 'hence' is not such a common word

  • Well, I'm Dutch too. Still, I got the joke. It's not that hard you know..

  • @Alex04HeadHunter if you know what the word means then it is easy :) but if you don't then it's not ..

  • @xNOUKSTARR well not really. Because honestly it's a somewhat difficult word. Everybody knows that Joey is kind of stupid and for the people that don't know hence you would probably interpretate it as a hard word, which Joey wouldn't use. So actually, without knowing the word you could still get the joke;)

  • @Alex04HeadHunter "interpretate"???? That was a joke of yours, right?

  • @GaolisVideoLog Don't bother. I know it's just interpret.

  • @xNOUKSTARR inderdaad at @Alex04HeadHunter, je hoeft helemaal niet te weten wat het woord betekend. Als je het woord niet kent, is de grap toch alleen maar duidelijker? Joey gebruikt een of ander 'moeilijk' woord, wat niet vanzelfsprekend is.

  • @roosnadinee @Alex04HeadHunter i understand what you mean. but it's nice to know the word ..

  • höhöhöh make fun of the dumb italian, but let's make jews normal on show höhöh

  • this is so hilarious

  • i love it because it's not even a big word. Just not something that Joseph would ever say! lol

  • what does hence mean? ( I'm dutch... )

  • @sfmaniak21 hence is just a fancier word for "therefor"

  • @sfmaniak21 it basically means therefore

  • @sfmaniak21 it means "therefore"

  • @sfmaniak21 vandaar, i'm dutch too, it was kinda hard to understand that..

  • @sfmaniak21 its another way of saying therefore or so

  • Nobody expects to see joey use a sophisticated connective like hence

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAAH!

  • Haa xD

  • my drama coursework is due in tomorrow an i haven't started it hence i'm gonna die

  • Hey I remember this,I was watching it in 2008.

  • cuz joey's so stupid, he's not expected to know words like "hence" lol

  • @theazn07

or at least not expected to know how to use words like hence... correctly... like the air quotes...

  • @theazn07 yeeeaahh, thanks for explaining that too everyone... without your comment, I don't think anyone would understand that was the joke...thanks for enlightening us, reaaaallly!!!!!

  • @theazn07 Ohhhhh, now I get it!

  • what about that word?? Is it archaic?

  • Finally, did Joey say anything wrong? When he used "hence" there???

  • He's dumb, noone sees him saying a big word like that.

  • i am doing a politics essay hence my funeral is going to be held tommorow. Everyone is invited!!!

  • it's kind of sad that so many people are commenting and asking what hence means... xD

  • iknowwrighht hhaha

  • hence, means, therefore, however, in other words....if you get it....

and LOL! at this part in friends!

    actual hilarious.

  • @iloveefriends so could I say...? "I don't eat meat hence I'm a vegetarian." correct me if I'm wrong :)

  • @carlosubeda I would say "I am a vegetarian hence I don't eat meat" ("hence" = more sophisticated "so") :)

  • @miracless1 oh, got it... I'm studying English right now hence any help would be appreciated xD!

    thanks a lot :)

  • yeeeh...pretty much...but you would prob want to say it around the other why like miracless1 said (:

  • hence means therefore

  • what it means hence???

  • it means "therefore"

  • what does hence mean?

  • therefore ?

  • its like more sophisticated for of "so". Weird word ^^

  • therefore

  • my younger sister thinks chandler looks hot in this episode. :P

  • thats coz he does ;)

  • yeah i know.. we're loosing Ross... Joey said 'hence'...

    -.-

    rofl

  • Lol...loosing

  • haha--"hence"

  • hence i swear it seens

  • Hahaha, I also love it when Joey really unsuspected corrects Ross saying "whom", and after surprised looks "THAT'S RIGHT!".

Anybody know what episode that is? =(

  • Yeah, it's the one when they are trying to see the video of Ross and Rachel when she got pregnant. It's the 3rd episode I think from season 7. (The one after the one with the sweater)

  • Sesaon 8, Episode 4

  • i think its TOW the videotape, or something like that. its the one how ross filmed him and rachael doing it.

  • Ohhmyygodd i wanna see that noww xD

  • Wow, the amount of people that don't understand this joke is kind of saddening.

  • Saddening? Well, don't you know many people was born without sense of ENGLISH? That is saddening! Anw, cheers and Friends rules!

  • I believe it would be "were born", LOL, "double english fail"

  • @mrfool2

lol. well, not everybody knows its meaning. not everybody's native language is English. think abt this next time you write a comment.

    peace.

  • @mrfool2 It really is. Makes me wonder how many other quality jokes go unappreciated in the show.

  • @Cookie89Kupo they cant.. cause basicly almost with every jokeline.. u hear the fake laughter in the show... meaning.. it was a joke.. ;) but the question is.. do pp actually understand it :) even though they knew someone made a joke...

  • Comment removed

  • @Cookie89Kupo Indeed. A lot of the shows make references to past people that only viewers who watched Friends back then knew. But the jokes that are similar to these videos are easy to get.

  • @mrfool2 are you talking about those 5 dislikes??????

  • @mrfool2

i know!!! its so sad.....they should watch this show....its the best!!`

  • @mrfool2 very!! it was kinda obvious! didn't they ever watch that show!?

  • @mrfool2 They probably don't watch Friends, so they don't get it (how can anyone NOT watch Friends????)

  • @celinuchis90 I agree!! i watch it whenever i have ome spare time! nothing cheers a person up more than a little bit of Joey going Commando!

  • @mrfool2 what 6 people?

  • Chandler makes fun of Joey because he said 'hence'. And it's a big word for Joey! :D

  • @gurunduce not even a big word...just a word Joey would never use!

  • @gurunduce Really? explaining the joke?

  • @innerasylum

    someone asked why its funny

  • @gurunduce No shit, sherlock.

  • best !

  • I liked it a lot while watching the show because I noticed it and thought it was weird and then Chandler pointed it out so it was like a funny coincidence

  • yeh i agree do you have any good films on your channell do ya

  • yeaah so did I ! :-)

  • @1080bpm haha i did that too

  • actually its funny because chandler mentions it otherwise hardly noticeable.

  • I noticed.

  • You must have bad noticing skills

  • 0:05 haha cute :D

  • haha lovee it

  • maybe joey isnt as stupid as he makes us believe!

  • hahah

  • haha it's really funny !!! xD

  • could someone explaine to me what hence is?

  • hence is just a posh way of saying 'so'.. 'therefore'.. 'thus'

  • I love learning from Joey!(by the way thank u for the explanation!i didn't know either)

  • either did i lol

  • Yeahh ennit I cant believe they didnt know what it meant

When I first heard it I knew what it meant without having to look it up

  • haha love it. the writers on this show were brilliant and the actors did such a great job delievering everything

  • why is it so funny Joey said 'hence'?

could somebody explain it to me? : )

  • Beacuse hence is a grammaticly difficult word and Joey is very stupid ^^

  • thx xD

  • allinlodz :

mentally Joey is not the brightest tool in the shed. "hence" is not something one would expect dumb people to say lol

  • loool. i love friends.

  • LOOOOL "were loosing ross - joey said hence xP"

  • Joey and Chandler are fantastic!!!

"yea i know, we're losing ross, joey said hence.."

    LMAO

  • i love chandler he is so funny

  • bahaha classic

  • i love how the gang treats joey like hes super retarded.

  • and the worst is that joey knows that

he thinks of it as normal haha

  • that's because he is

  • well he is.

but it's all good! CAUSE IT MAKES HIM FUNNY AS HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • joey and chandler are the best

  • What is wrong with joey saying hence?

  • clever ppl say hance. joeys stupid. its strange 4 someone who doesnt know long, formal language 2 use hence.

  • Hey guys. Yo, yo yo;

Can anyone find me this episode on youtube?

    I CANT.

    :(

  • Ross is my fav friend.

  • HAHA!

Yah i know where losing ross, Joey said hence.

  • All of them lol they are all so funny!

  • i know i remember being shocked that joey said "hence" hahaha

  • am not that much in english but whats the problem with saying hence?? seriously

  • it's out of character for him to say "hence," which makes it funny. hence is a fancy word for "because" or "therefore"

anyway it was funny coz joey said it

  • thanx and sorry for the late reply

  • It's because his character is a bit of an idiot in this show, and it's out of place for him to be using that word

  • Rachel and joey and chandlerr<333333

  • rachel, joey, chandler, ross, pheobe, monica---in no particular order
