Senna was using slick tires in the rain, that's why Schumi and the others passed him(not easily). He was the only one with slicks at the time. He did his pit stop afterwards. He was the greatest driver indeed.
Same race where Ayrton stopped on the race track to help Érik Comas after his crash by cutting off the engine, preventing a fire/explosion, and possible death as Comas had passed out in the car.
I meant Schumacher would have beat Prost. I had huge respect for Prost, but I don't think he would have beat the young Schumi.
And Schumi finished ahead of Senna in 1992, don't talk about the reliability of the Mclaren, only a multi word champion could have done that in his first season.
@SchumiSutil Then look at Ayrton's 1993 season... With the not so good Ford motor, being 100 horsepower down on the Renault motor, finishing 2nd in the championship behind Prost in the FW15C, one of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history. He had arguably one of the best races of his career at the 1993 European GP at Donington park. Going from 6th to 1st in the first lap, in a slower car, then dominating the race.
Oh yeah, Michael SCHUM-HACKER... come on all the drivers can easy tell you that the most professional, talented and genius driver of all times was Ayrton Senna. This guy had no real rivals when he was at ferrari, Senna won races against the best (Mansell, Prost, Piquet).
@SchumiSutil First of all, you need to consider that 1992 and 1993-Ford Mclaren couldn't compete with the best Williams, Ferrari and even Benetton. Senna proved to be the best of all times in Donington 1993. Schumacher is of course one of the greatest, but he got a super Ferrari and technical improvements in his cars. Then there is big difference from Fangio era, manual transmission era and automatic gearbox era. Considering all this, think what have done Senna...
@goldengab Well, Senna dropped back only because he had an fat and thirsty V12 Honda in the back of his car and than that he decided not to change on to wets..
@SchumiSutil Well, Senna also had a dominant car in 1989 and 1988...but difference is there a bit, as he had to fight for it with his teammate. Barrichello was able to beat Schumacher only few times and mostly in those cases he wasnt allowed to do it
At one of the stops, Brundle in the 2nd Benneton stayed out one lap longer than planned while running ahead of Schumacher. This was to do with the change between wets and slicks on a drying track. Schumacher saw the state of Brundle's rear tyres and knew he had to take slicks then, so he pitted and took slicks before going on to win the race.
"Michael uses his famous car control and clever tactics for the first time." So he didn't use them to get into the good results he had before his first win?
"Michael uses his famous car control and clever tactics for the first time." So he didn't use them to get into the good results he had before his first win?
that ninety one and on bennetton seemed to be the first to have the lifted nose that doesnt flow into the front wing. Seems to be a staple today that this car pioneered.
Yeah, and they introduce the air splitter under the car too. Anyway i think the first that make experiment with the lifted nose is the Tyrrel with is reverse gullwing wing.
No,he will not....he crashed at bike in february and the recent tests done by some doctors shows, that his neck is suffering from it and is not fit enough to do the race
Not really. You forgot that Michael was in this race in leadfar away from Brundle. Then Michael did to much and end up in green. That's why it looks like that they were together, but they weren't. He was in the green and at the end he won with a huge lead.
How cool is this. I still remember when I watched the race. And now to know that he is back is awesome. Very nice clip with excellent music. Perfect! Epic!!!
Fangio came well before Senna (2 different era's)..when F1 drivers grew up in the 70's 80's..the hero (person they looked up to)..was Fangio..just like Ayrtons case,
In todays era..most look up to Ayrton Senna
Hence - Hamilton, Alonso, Barrichello, Button, Hill, Hakkinen, etc etc etc..i could go on and on with the list..I dont want to be rude because you seem to be a nice guy..even a monkey could tell you Ayrton Senna was above the rest by a mile :)
I really miss Michael... I think the 90's were a really good decade for Formula 1. All those changes that the FIA is trying to do are bad for the sport
@el1986th I 'm not agree . The best period for the F1 was end of 70th and 80th. In that period there was many champions like Lauda, Senna, Piquet, Prost, Villeneuve, Rosberg, Mansell and so on. During the Schumacher era only HAkkinen was able to compete with him. In my opinion Hill was not good and Jacques Villeneuve (not able like the father) won only once. Furthermore there was not show. NOw I think it is a better show: we can see Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel, Weber trying all together to win
It may be,but this video,as you can see,was taken prom Premeiere channel, which is an german channel. Not only not everyone understands the german language but I also dont like the commentators
