@TheDiddlysquat I loved the Eddie Murphy skit where the Beatles were called the Larrys. And Eddie felt that he was given the shaft because he was cheated out of playing the sax with the group and they totally erased all of his sax parts in their songs. Lol
he has a great attitude. Im a frigging landscaper. Id be proud to be known for having a connection to the greatest band of all time. I make peoples yards look nice and day dream of fam. Pete..wana trade? lol
Wait... Pete did leave real late 62', like January. So Pete was with the Band During the Decca Sessions. He is even in a recording of love me do, I think.
I don't know the circumstances but musicians are not family members. They are business men who make music....until they get rich I guess. So the competition is tough and they have to constantly make change. Reinvent themselves...but this situation just blows. Not so much for the money that he is out but because he did not get the fame that entertainers need when they do a good job.
actually the reason that Best was let go was because of George Martin. Why Pete Best seems think there is some other reason is interesting.
After the Decca recordings of New Years 1962 and initial Love me do sessions; George Martin felt that Best was not keeping up with the band and that they needed a more professional percussionist.... Every book that I have read on the subject gives this reason.... Strange that Mr Best doesnt acknowledge this.
apparently macca's dad didnt like the girls chasein pete instead of the rest of the lads, mainly his paul..,..true,...what a guy and what a story to tell,..the 5th Beatle....

He's a great guy! Here's a man that took a blow in life and could still hold his head up high. A great life's lesson to to learn from.
