  • This man is the Real Deal.. what a solo..he kicks ridiculous amounts of ass

  • Kinda surprised that guitar didn't catch fire during the solo.

  • @kingofthemosh

There is little doubt it was quite warm to the touch.

  • Whoever uploaded this, I .. LOVE .. You, thx again

  • Only one chords. Pretty awesome.

  • Outtake???

  • No other guitarist comes close to the genuine sincerity Stevie had.

No grandstanding egos, just killer playing for the sake of the music

  • KICK ASS

  • I am 66 and I miss this Guy, the "so called" music of today is crap compared to the real sound of this Man, wish He was still here.

  • @Super3851 I agree with you completely, and I'm only 21 haha.

  • Love Chris Layton drumming on this track.

  • SRV= Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris= God. See where this leads?

  • @sableantelope77

Yeah, it will lead you straight down into hell.

Jesus Christ is God and He is the ONLY way to the Father in Heaven. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, repent, obey and be saved!

  • @edadan2009 ok, mabey i didnt make this clear. i am a christian. i'm just saying that SRV is the god of the blues and chuck norris is the god of epicness. though i really dont know what chuck norris has to do with SRV. well, my point is, SRV is the king of the blues, chuck norris is the king of epicness, and God is the king of everything.

  • @sableantelope77

Much better! Just make sure that you always put Jesus Christ FIRST in everything. God is jealous of His realtionship with us. Peace.

  • @edadan2009

Oh dear. Unless he's actually directed a prayer at SRV or Chuck Norris, it's probably best to assume it's more a figure of speech than worshipping a false idol. And if God's jealous of Jesus' relationship with us, perhaps its an idea not to upset him further, and praise the Father and the Son equally?

Or just lighten up and notice how Chuck Norris references on the internet are often made tongue in cheek.

  • you can feel the bad ass blues!

  • out take my ass!Ending that song was like stopping a train. So much energy in that song I'm tired

  • for information, im a big fan of satriani & steve vai.but when i saw this, my goodness i was quite shocked!!!! his touch is incredible..!

  • u make me cry!!!! waaaaaaa!!!! u re so fucking amazing!!!

  • is that lenny he playing?

  • @BigTimeBluesFan989 scotch or butterscotch as he called it

  • A rhythm that makes your body wanna move.

  • @LEOJ024 what year was this?

  • simply awesome

  • 3:17. WHAAAATTTT!!!!!

  • watching him makes me wanna get laid....even in heaven i prob wont b good enuf 4 him

  • This is the sound of excellence and definitly one of the greatest solo performances i've ever heard in my life.

  • I respect SRV and his rendition is actually hot, but i think it lost a bit of funk...

  • oh my god! cant even say with words what i just saw! it is so fucking unfair he died when he was on his peak! just look at how he played here! simply amazing! fast, precise, groovy. THE ONE AND ONLY SRV!

  • This was an outtake? OMFG - he was brilliant! Thank you for posting this!

  • how come they didnt put this song in the SRV boxset?? they put all the other "outtakes" on the dvd, this is the best version of this song fo sho!!

  • What a player, and the coolest thing is that SRV got saved before he died, so he is in Heaven now playing with the band, wohooo! I can't wait to hear him again.

  • how is this an outtake???

  • Srv came so much longer with his music than Clapton in such a short time!

  • Why the hell isn't this on the DVD!?!

  • Who's the dingbat that produced the Austin City Limits DVD...and left this off it!! I also have the outtakes mpeg which also includes possibly the best version of Voodoo Chile i've ever seen him do, he was on fire at this show.

  • The solo is by far the sickest solo i've ever heard!

  • 3:03 = omfg!

  • A great artist,a great man,and all around decent human being.He all 3 man,he had all 3.

  • da paura!!!

  • He absolutely TEARS IT UP in this performance, and at the end all he says is "Thank you so kindly". Man, I sure miss him and his music.

  • I have a copy of this performance, people! It's in .mpg format and it's on my mp3 player. I had completely forgotten about it until now! If you want a copy of it, send me a message with your e-mail address!

By the way, people, just so you know, I am not a spammer. I just know a lot of people want this performance, so I figured I could be of some help.

Also, the video isn't in the best quality at all. If you're expecting DVD quality, then please, do not message me. If you want it, I got it.

  • @2Fast4U0921 I totally agree with you. He absolutely tears down the house in this second performance. I would love to have a copy of this performance for my mp3 player. My e-mail is taxman583@yahoo.com. Also would you happen to know if they have released all of these out takes on dvd? If you get a chance catch Couldn't Stand The Weather. Each member in Double Trouble has an awesome solo and Chris tears it up. Long Live Stevie!!!

  • Why would they not release all of these performances?!!

  • Does anyone know where we can get a copy of this performance?? Smokin hot!!!

  • does anyone know if that's an ebony or rosewood fretboard? It looks pretty dark like ebony but I can't quite tell. Thanks

  • @GuitarRonnie13 On Numer One he had a pao ferro fretboard. On this one, i think rosewood or pao ferro

  • It is like heaven has opened up and the music simply pours into him.

  • That is truly amazing, everytime I watch this it gets better. He played the guitar so effortlessly, it will never be matched. He was the true "Master of the 'Caster".

  • Anyone know the main chord he starts playing at :10?

  • @skippy3840 Eb7#9

  • anyone know where i can get this on dvd i have the cut version live in texas and even one night in texas but not this song

  • Everytime I see this, it gets better.

  • epic version love him <3

  • that's how you do it

  • That was bad to the bone. The music video version with the black cat is kind of funny, but SRV is ripping it to pieces in this performance. This one definitely got saved to my playlist.

  • This performance is in a LEAGUE ALL IT'S OWN, no other version-performance comes close Period

  • by far his best performance of superstition :D

  • i would agree to that

  • i love 3:03

  • Comment removed

  • 4:39-:4:41 DAMN SRV is going ape-shit on Butter (Thats the name of the guitar).

  • i thought this guitar was scotch.. haha butter scotch ha

  • Yeah, its Scotch, My bad lol.

  • actually, you were half right, he called it scotch but i did some quick research and apparently, it was also called butterscotch haha

  • From the video before and having just watched 'where the light is' and then coming back to my good old austin city limits concert DVD and wanting more from youtube - I have to say whenever Mayer switched his guitar it was like seeing a big plate of food untouched by a small child, I wanted to say - hey you haven't done all you can with that yet! But Vaughan... Man He deserves his guitars, every one. Mayer has over 200 btw.

  • Please stop the insults by mentioning Mayer's name in an SRV video.

  • @capaneo aforementioned unmentionable is merely a cut out 'superstar' like a Disney prop sent out under contract to siphon money from the 'believers' and children who just can not tell the difference between an act and the real thing.

  • The best ending to any song... EVER!!!! lol

  • my GOD.. this guy BLOWS MY BRAINS OUTT

  • Stevie Wonder who? from about 3:00 on, once his solo began, it was officially SRV's song.

Man, I feel sorry for the Austin City Limits producers who had to decide which performances to leave out of their show. If I was them, I couldn't decide. I mean, everything he does man....he's the definition of a god!

  • YEs!!! from 3:00 onwards and for all the haters out there you can see every TECHNIQUE clearly on display, you just don't recognise them becasue he plays them with something you tech heads are not familiar with..... P-A-S-S-I-O-N!

    SRV - The Real Deal

  • God knows I would never say anything against SRV, he's my idol but you have to say that this blows the Live Alive version of this out of the water, we all know why and I'm glad he got where he did in the end, I just wish Stevie was still with is.

SRV STILL is the Real Deal...

  • You got that right! This is best version I've ever seen or heard! By anyone!

  • @gimickuk1

The extended solo alone blows the Live Alive version away.

  • totally agree....we need to see some of the live concerts from his last year.....he was playing at the top of his game!....and yep live alive is pretty poor.

  • @gimickuk1 Too true, reading his bio at the moment, so much I didn't know about him, and I am like a fucking SRV encyclopedia, he was THE BEST guitarist on earth, bold statement, but I think it's true, he was so unique in his look, feel and sound, sure he borrowed alot from other guitarists, but he modded it to make his own style, a true idol, and a king of the blues guitar, he maybe gone, but he will never, EVER, be forgotten.

    RIP SRV!!!!!

  • These audience was/are som of luckiest in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You cant be so tight on guitar unless your Name is SRV!!!

  • You got that right, Stevie's playing is as tight as a ducks arse!

  • the best rythm/lead guitar plaver ever hands down.

  • YES YES YES YES YES!

  • WOW!! That was so hot I swear I saw smoke comming out of my speakers!

  • ...and one of the best SRV lead breaks I've seen

  • Thanks my friend

    great video!!

  • Thankyou - this is great

  • These were the days when Stevie Ray was most comfortable with himself and his talent. His cool, calm and his relaxed character comes shining through in this video.

Why it was cut is a shame.

Why he died so young, is a mystery. A extraordinary man indeed. Sexy too!

    Peace.

    Terri:)

  • agree with all that completely!

  • I have the Live from Austin, Texas DVD and I cannot believe all this footage was not included, it is simply amazing. "Thank you so kindly" for posting this, haha.

  • como siempre excelente!.

  • This......a plateau unreachable for mere mortals.

  • straight to my favorites! thx man

  • GREAT GREAT!!

  • oh yeah!!!

  • a fired up srv, always pushing himself to the limit,to reach excellents.
