I've wanted to know this for two decades but is it possible to have the original Ultrazord on top of Tor the Shuttlezord? I started collecting PR during its second season so I don't have the orignal three.
Anyways, there is no way to stabilize Titanus (or any Ultrazord you make with it) on top of Tor. They are simply not compatible with each other in any way. (I doubt the 2010 Ultrazord would be any better.)
last comment i promise EVA_Unit_4A thank you for introducing me to Masaaki Endoh version of go go power rangers. I'm in a 90's cover band and we have been talkign about doing tv show themes for a while and i think im amped enough to convince the others to do this theme. Thank You
The Revolver Mammoth must be friggin huge. I own the Hurricane Power Megazord and its size is already beastly. Just to put it into perspective, my hurricane power megazord stands right beside my Transformers Cybertron Starscream (check it out on CollectionDX).
Yeah it is true though Ultrazord combinations haven't really been better since the MMPR1 I was looking forward to hope that Gokaiger had something interesting, but.. sadly it was a Machalcon limb swap *which I feel that Machalcon is too big for a racer* the Gozyujin *sorry for the spelling* was barely part of it too, which the Gozyujin was my favourite Mecha of the series. Just makes me think of the ridiculous 12 or 11 piece Mecha from Go-Onger, and Shinkenger, so odd looking.. ^^;; Good review~
That theme sounds similar in ways to the version used in PR: the Movie, but DAMN if this doesn't give the original theme a run for its money!
I would like to see the In Space sets reviewed, but hey, I enjoy seeing nearly any Power Rangers/Super Sentai review you do...aside from perhaps *ahem* Goseiger. I'm sorry to remind of its existence.
@EVAUnit4A Ahh the continuity issues of Saban and Bandai America never cease to amaze me, and their usage was ridiculous they shot water that melted clay(super putties) -_-, but that doesnt even come to the debacle that is the pink shogunzord two seasons later
Nice review, well worth the wait. And I agree, while the Cluster F Megazords do have their place in my heart (I do like them, but Samurai Ha-Oh was too much for my tastes), the original Ultrazord is the best. My other favorite is probably Super Live Robo.
Super Live Robo is not an ultra-class combo, it is only a super-class. An ultra-class combo is not only the end of the toy line and largest combo, but also has a minimum of seven component mecha. Therefor, Kyuukyoku Daizyujin was indeed the first ultra-class combo.
@EVAUnit4A Ah, I see. So I guess Kanzen Gokai-Oh would only count as a super-class combo and Gokaiger isn't going to have an Ultra Class from the looks of it?
We don't know what Gokaiger is going to do. We only just got Kanzen Gokai-Oh. however, this is mid-November, so we should be getting word very soon regarding any ultra-class combo, if they're planning any.
A mega-class combo isn't as constrained as an ultra- in the number of component mecha. Basically, a mecha is a combo of two major robos (which can themselves have separate components or not). The Super Live Robo was the first combo to use two separately-sold DX sets (Live Robo and Live Boxer). First- and second-level limb-swaps are exempt as well. (Ex: Killer-AbarenOh is a mega, but DaiBouken Drill and Shovel is not.)
Super Muteki Shougun and Super Kakure DaiShougun are both mega-, but not ultra- even though that is far as their mecha systems go since they are each six components.
DaiTanken is a basic-, not a mega- even though it uses five separately-sold components (though some say it is).
Zutei Daizyujin is a mega- because of its component count, but the Goryuujin also is because it combines two separately-sold robos.
One final exception would be pretty much the entire Power Animals line-up. All of the [known] combos use a minimum of three components, but no more than six. (An exception would be using weapon-only PAs like Gao Elephant, which would then boost a combo to 7, but doesn't necessarily make it an ultra-.) So, using only the toys, technically no PA combo can be labeled an ultra-, including the Gao Kentaurous.
@EVAUnit4A Turboranger did do this before Zyuranger. The primary robot combines with the secondary robot to form a combo, and then combines with the fortress mecha to form the same type of mecha we saw in Ohranger. Fiveman does this afterwards.
Wouldn't Ultimate Dai Bouken be the combination of two mecha's? Dai Bouken and Dai Tanken (The secondary mecha that was never really used).
I love clusterfuck megazords like g12 and samurai haoh. to me the more things that combine into one giant thing. the more powerful the combined mode is. plus its interesting to see how all those parts attach to make one giant robot. even if its just useless kibble
Some revel in fluster-cuck combos, and some (like myself) don't. If I had seen the Jukou Kiden (Thunder Ultrazord) first, I might have been singing a very different tune here; who knows!
lucky you, my lil sisters a complete dumbass, she hates power rangers/super sentai to the point she nearly destroys most of the ones i used to own, you can only imagine how pissed i am
I was 6 when MMPR premiered in 1993, my younger sister was 2. Fortunately for me, she only liked the Pink and Yellow Rangers, and getting them as barbie dolls.
I just found it totally pointless to get the 2010 Titanus since the 2010 Dragonzord wasn't even made.

i've felt the same pain that you did with your little sister... but at least your power rangers action figures never had to use a dress...
i still think my Tommy/Green Ranger toy regrets the mariage with barbie's sister...

Yeah, there are echoes of the MMPR:TM ver. in the Masaaki ver., but the latter doesn't feel as constrained thematically as the movie's was.

Another exception is FireKaiser, which is a mega- even though it has only two component mecha but also merges two separately-sold toys.
Another low-component-count mega- is the Super Galaxy Mega, which uses only two mecha even though it is made of two-separately-sold sets.
