The casting was just totally flawless and the writing was awesome. Why this wasn't rerun in syndication our put out on DVD I will never understand.

It never made it to rerun syndication on local stations because it only lasted three seasons. Most shows need at least four seasons, or about 100 episodes, before it can be reran. However, cable networks have reran shows that came in below that episode count, and to my knowledge, none of the US cable channels (especially USA Network, who historically ran shows that even had a minimum of two seasons) ever repeated Herman's Head after the Fox cancellation.
