  • Terrible review. You repeated part 1.

  • Part TWO? You repeated most of what you said in Part ONE. REVIEW? Howzabout you leave the building, maybe make a few CALLS to see how the antenna array handles the network. Terrific little phone? I can't believe you people get away with calling yourselves reviewers. Now I know who to avoid in the future: -wirefly.

  • I wish that you would actually do something with the phone rather than just talking about it.

  • @ArchieFan42192 Wirefly has lots of other videos on the EVO 3D besides this one. This is an unboximg and allI do is literally take it out of the box.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • does it have an on-screen keyboard as well? or only the slideout keyboard

  • @xsweetxsolacex Yes, the G2 has an on-screen keyboard. As far as I know, all Android phones have on-screen keyboards, whether or not they have physical keyboards.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • Go to settings -> sound and display -> check orientation and there you go you can now orientate your phone without opening the keyboard. thats for the g1 btw idk bout other phones

  • hey in your part 1 i have seen that there is an

  • Can this phone provide a 3g wireless hot spot? If so how much

  • poor review

  • yeah i tried both i decided for the g2, my wife got the 4g touch, i wanted it but it wqs too late, really fast, and u can see your family while talking, that is cool

  • the part of the screen going horizontally only with the keypad may not be so as true...

the g1 had a setting where you can enable horizontal screen with out the keypad and so may go for the same for the g2.Although i don't have a g2 (yet) so the setting may or may not be on the phone, but the setting on the g1 SOMETIMES was annoying. By that i mean it was enabled, sometimes the screen turned horizontal when i didn't turn the phone sideways and didn't have the keypad out, but still some enable it

  • @tommyv331992 actually the g2 has a 2nd generation snapdragon processer the evo 4g has a 1st generation snapdragon

  • Does it have an accelerometer?

  • bob at wirefly you talk about the same stuff in every video and i wacth all the of your g2 videos and they suck

  • Whats better? G2 or Mytouch 4g?

  • @aznperds101 MyTouch 4G. longer battery life in standby and talk time, there is tethering, the G2 is a 3G but considered a 4G because it can reach 4G, but the MyTouch is a 4G. the MyTouch is slimmer and lighter and it's processer is the 1GHz Snapdragon 2nd generation, while the G2 has the first generation. the display is bigger than the G2 but barely.

google: Wirefly MyTouch 4G Google G2

  • @aznperds101 also the MyTouch 4G has voice dialing.

  • Does it support HD movies?

  • open some apps, surf the web, do SOMETHING with the phone - i've watched both your reviews and i know very little more than i did before!

  • i get hspa speeds on my vibrant all the time i get about 5mbps which is fast enough for me i dont need no 14mbps its not like im using a computer

  • should i get the nexus one or mytouch 4g? it's really hard deciding becasue mytouch 4g has 4g and hd video camera and video calling too! but the nexus one i like it more but has a amoled screen and it looks stylish to me!!?? oh it's so hard deciding should i go with the phone i like more or just get the better one? but i like both!

  • @Mohamedahmed331 they don't even sell the nexus 1 anymore get the nexus s

  • cant wait till christmas to get me a g2

  • does the G2 support videochat and videochat services like skype and ustream.tv?

  • no teather, that sucks, i have a g1 rooted running CyanogenMod 6 (Android 2.2/Froyo) and it has teather build in it, i wonder if you can root the g2

  • I have the G1. Will the G2 be a HUGE upgrade, or not really? I know the G1 was the first Google phone and it doesn't compare. I just wanted to know if it's worth the money.

  • @JhonnyBoyLive yes the g2...

  • Okay..I will only ask you this.

    Does it shoot laser beams?

  • Does it shoot laser beams?

  • can you video chat without a front facing camera

  • what is your real phone bob

  • @4x4ram you mean text to speech that wasnt a mytouch thing it was a 2.1 os update the nexus one had first before the other phone got the feature in the update or came preinstall. tmobile just made a big fuss about it to make more sell of it. is not a mytouch thing it an android feature.

  • It's not a Snapdragon processor. It's another processor that's a lot faster than the 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor.

  • @UbuntuLinuxKarmic yes it is a snapdragon it a second gen and nexus one was the first gen

  • @add119 It's named Scorpion. It's a lot faster than the 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor. It's like saying a 2.3 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor is faster than the 2.8 Ghz Pentium 4. Which is true

  • @UbuntuLinuxKarmic I know lol

  • is that the only color?

  • Screen doesn't go to horizontal mode without flipping out the keyboard?! That is SERIOUSLY f'ed up!

  • @dreamcatcher68 there are two ways HSPA and HSPA+

  • Can the G2 do the talk text like the 3G slide?? And how can I find out how good the hspa+ service is in the area I live in(Corpus Christi Texas)

  • It's "HSPA+"...not "HSPA"

  • G2, vibrant, 3g slide or HTC HD2???? IM just a regular dude, It would be more for entertainment more than anything. i think im going to go with the 3G slide. please help me make a decision????

  • @4x4ram I'd go with the G2 or the Vibrant.

  • @alexandrehochstatter i do think the G2 will be my choice. and i do like the keyboard more than fully touch only. i want to make sure i have this phone for two years! ive been upgrade ing every year for like the past 4 years lol

  • u sound like my calculus teacher... FOR REAL

  • @kurt23407 he is

  • 1:58 shanedawson- justin bieber is a porn star on the youtube thing!

  • ok personal opinion witch is better the g2 or the vibrant i really don't care about the keyboard

  • do you know if this phone can tether? if so how much does it cost?

  • @gjose57 I was told by an HTC rep this morning that the G2 does not tether.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • @wirefly Actually i recently read a review that mentioned there is an update that is slowly being sent to G2 phones which enables wifi calling and tethering...however wifi calling for some reason still consumes mins...

  • @wirefly it tethers very nicely with 3rd party app

  • @wirefly I was told by a T-Mobile rep that Android 2.2 (Froyo) should be able to tether standard.

  • @wirefly website says it does tether

  • @wirefly Apparently there is a new update that allows tethering again. I'm getting mine in the mail in a few days!

  • @wirefly yes this phone does tether either by usb or wifi, you can setup the name and password as well...goto wifi settings, its free.

  • @wirefly does NOT tether? unfortunate. I was pretty sold on this. But hey, there is always the g2x. And it DOES tether!

  • @gjose57 you can tether just root your phone or wait for next update. problem solve

  • @gjose57 it has froyo. one of the most waited froyo features is wifi tethering.

  • @gjose57 well u should be able to i dont see why not there will be apps to do it all phones now a days sho uld be able to i think theres vids that sh ow you how

  • @gjose57 Yes it does was just updated and its free!!!

  • @gjose57 it can... 14.99 a month, can connect up to 5 devices

  • The 800 mhz processor is the next generation of Qualcomms 1 ghz version. So with the new version 800mhz is just as fast or faster as the old generation snapdragon. Dont believe me? Do your research then get back with me.

  • His info is untrue when you turn the phone it does switch with out opening the key board. the icons do switch when the phone is turned

  • does he realize he said exactly what he said in part 1?

  • The T-mobile G2 does not show 3G , when you see a "H" it could be Regular 3G or HSPA+

  • the only thing i like on android is the launcher and widgets

  • ok. I think this is the best phone in the world as of now! But why make it 800 mhz processor when most others are 1 ghz?

  • would you go with this over the hd2 ?

  • 1:10 Justin bebers a pornstar? lmao

  • @ShaneSwisha yes it does

  • does it support flash ?

  • @ShaneSwisha yep

  • is the web browser better or worse than the samsung vibrant?

  • Screen orientation is an option in the settings. You can set whether or not the phone automatically views when rotating phone.

  • I don't usually tell people they need to stop.. but you do.. first off the screen rotation is an option in the setting most people like myself keep it off cause it's a pain in the ass when your laying down or something and the only other reason it would need to turn is for movies and web browsing and it has it auto for movies and a option in the browser menu. I'm just done.. i won't be back for more movies.. sorry.

  • Can you take a picture? and possibly record a short video? you guys usually do great reviews, this one is kinda below average. Especially being that this is a signature phone that basically started the whole android google revolution.

  • the speed toggles based on usage, if your phone is idle it's not going to use H, it saves battery that way.

  • FOR AUTO ROTATE - I don't know if G2 has this option on the menu, but you can check. Maybe is OFF.

Settings --> Display --> Auto Rotate Screen [X]

  • FOR AUTO ROTATE - I don't know if G2 has this option on the menu, but you can check. Maybe is OFF.

Settings --> Display --> Auto Rotate Screen [X]

  • ur an idiot amazed cuz the screen flips when the keyboards out. great phone imma get it comming from a sideick 08, lx, slide, g1, cliq(:

  • y do u say the same thing u say in part 1? doesnt even know what hes talking about

  • wow that toggle between edge and hspa is alarming! another nexus one? sheesh!

  • does it support tmobiles 3g network?

  • @KINGGPAT Yes, the G2 works seamlessly with all of T-Mobile's data networks from Edge to 3G to HSPA.

    Wirefly

  • @KINGGPAT His info is untrue when you turn the phone it does switch with out opening the key board. the icons do switch when the phone is turned

  • You should really get familiar with the android OS before critiquing it. Just my opinion / advice.

  • Just a tip: You didn't show me anything in this review that I couldn't get from a product description and a few still images. We want to SEE the phone work, that's why we came to YouTube instead of t-mobile.com. Go to Android Market, download some stuff. Browse the web. Download some more stuff. I wanted to see how fast it operates when you actually make it DO things.

  • does G2 support UMA?

  • @chiachung1 @chiachung1 Since the G2 is Android 2.2 (Froyo), it supports UMA. Here's more information about a UMA-based product that provides a seamless phone experience through WiFi networks:

    Bob at Wirefly

  • When Can Wirefly Customers expect to get their G2 shipped?

  • @ChargerANG Wirefly will start shipping the G2 on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010.

    Thanks!

    Wirefly

  • And isn't it a 'Scorpion' processor?

I've heard both, but most reputable sources (including an HTC datasheet) are calling it the Scorpion.

  • @Z4KJ0N3S All the discussion of the processor is indeed confusing. The bottom line is that the G2 works both smoothly and fast.

For what it's worth, here is what T-Mobile lists on its Web site regarding the specs of the G2's processor:

    "Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ MSM7230 mobile processor"

Is it a Scorpion or a Snapdragon? T-Mobile calls it a Snapdragon. I'm happy to simply say that it's fast.

    Bob at Wirefly

  • What was with the cut between the phone changing from HSPA+ to EDGE?

  • hspa+ you mean? O_O

  • pretty much Android phones don't rotate orientation if you turn it, even non-keyboard Android phones

Better yet, pretty much every smartphone doesn't do that.

  • Thumbs down for not knowing your stuff.

Landscape mode on home screen is a software ability not hardware which isn't standard with 2.1 or 2.2 launcher at least not on my nexus, launcher pro however it is

  • dam i raly want this phone but the landscape part really made me not wanna get it but im still gettin it i need a phone a fast phone to b specific, and i hope the landscape thing gets fix by OTA update

  • Smh you guys are slow.. Software features are unavailable not impossible..

In other words..landscape homescreen isn't available on the regular launcher..then download Launcher Pro..Duhh

  • @Oskie425 sorry but im new on this smartphone android thing but thnx so i guess its fixable, so ill b buyin this phone thnx

  • @drgangster809n yeah srry i went hard guess im kinda a fanboy lols.

  • @Oskie425 lol its ok i dont blame yu, yu didnt know i was new on this and that the G2 is gonna b my first true smartphone, lol wen i mean true is cuz i had a sidekick 2009 which is a "smartphone" and i dont consider it a smart phone so to me i never had a smartphone

  • r yu serious it doesnt go landscape wen yu tilt the phone wow this really makes me mad specially bcuz im buyin this regarless fuck man why cant tmo make the perfect phone!!!!!

  • @drgangster809n most slider phones are like that...

  • @ur0fficialboy well but its gonna get fix i also saw it on a page where yu can customize that yu click on the box if yu want it to rotate automatically depending on how yu hold the phone not necessarily flipin the keyboard this guy doin the video is terrible he shouldve known better and go to menu is ppl like this that bad advertisement and change ppls mind ppl who dont do research and believe anything

  • you can make the phone adjust it's orientation in the settings menu under display. its really smooth too.

  • Ugh, it is people like this that sway the market too much because of bad information.

  • This review is a little light , you haven't made a software tour of the phone overall good review

  • The launcher is what controls the screen rotating on the home screen. Since the G2 comes with the stock froyo launcher you would need to download something like launcherpro or adwlauncher to enable such a feature. Not worth making any big deal about since froyo launcher isn't that good to begin with.

  • I would rather have a STFT LCD than an AMOLED screen any day. Using the phone outside explains why

  • Dude where is the data speed test???

  • 2 things is this using froyo 2.2,1 or 2.2 base

and for anyone who truly uses a android device ud probably have to root it to do the things youd like so i recommed you go to xda developers to turn your sucky samsung, htc and motorola phones into something good have fun

this phone will be hard as hell to take apart and put together but when i get mines ill root it same day

  • Great video and demo. But this new phone sucks! It won't go landscape unless you open the keyboard?? Pathetic!

  • @stmpoodle he does not know wat he is doing that only happen on the home, if he opens the browser it will go landscape.....

  • @stmpoodle obviously youve never used android before within the past 3 years...

  • @misirlou234 My rotary phone has a nice spring hook like that! LOL

  • @stmpoodle "its not automatically going horizontal cause your automatic orientation is off in settings-display" dont believe everythin yu hear!

  • LOL. The screen says "Vag Bubbles" in the beginning! LOL.

  • its not automatically going horizontal cause your automatic orientation is off in settings-display

  • @KINGVAJ23 How could he not know that?

  • @Maxwellwebb5 Cuz this 'professor' doesn't know much about android phones, it's like he's seeing it for the first time in his life. all in all a really sub-par review imo.

  • @KINGVAJ23 thanks for that info

when he said it doesn't i was like damn it

i don't wanna slide it out all the time i wanna go horizontal

  • @KINGVAJ23 I was going to say that lol

  • @KINGVAJ23 actually android never goes landscape on the home screen unless you slide the keyboard out

  • @aleks138 False. I'm looking at my G1 (Android release phone) and if you have your settings right, it will go landscape when you rotate it. In fact, I just did it. It's just a pain because I have such a slow processor that it can really get in the way of things.

  • It would be really great to get a real "review" other than an overview of the device. Can we see some apps opened, the HPSA in action?? What you do/don't like about the phone....anything?!?!I'm looking for a new phone, so those are the kinds of things I personally would like to know.

  • @fishatl Then you are better off reading a review of it, cause written reviews are usually a lot more detailed.

  • is the tmobile g2 unlock version have the regular htc sense ?

  • @S69NER idk but the uk version does

  • @S69NER yes

  • Could you show us FLASH video playback.. please as its got FROOOYOOO !!

  • guy doenst really know what hes talking about

  • i was amped bout dis phoe till i seen da windows 7mobile phone, xbox on tha go, zune based of the zunes hd version on it, and well tons of power big ass multi touch screen and state of the art ui, microsoft pulled a windows xp on that shit millenium mite have suck but xp made a comeback same thing for the phone.
