Hey this is great. I did my own install in a similar fashion, except my av cables came out behind a media cabinet that sits on the floor, but the shelf idea is great, and looks much better then I would have imagined. With a deeper shelf, it would be perfect. Great job.
Nice work. At least you had the guts to do the work yourself. It came out well. There are other floating shelves that you could use that have greater depth, which should help out with the components.
Anyone criticizing this has obviously never tried anything on their own because if they had they would know that no one starts out a master. So dont worry about those idiots redsbleeding2003. Looks good.
If you had a higher end receiver, it can act as a switch for your components, so you only need to run 1 set of component and/or hdmi cables up to the TV. Otherwise good work, the height is tricky as there is a compromise between asthetics and a comfortable viewing angle.

Good Job. I just think you can route everything to av receiver and run receiver to TV. Use HDMI will also help cut down a lot of cable.
