I noticed that exact same thing. I was front row to his left, and I could hear people behind me singing, and I was trying so hard to focus on him, and he just seemed so unbelievably pissed, as you said, the entire night. Kind of ruined the front row experience for me. :(
one of the things he often does at concerts (there are loads of other examples of youtube, traena for instance) is that he unplugs/ switches off the pa system for cannonball, which could account for the way he seems to be singing louder than he normally would.

The sound quality is terrible. It doesn't mean that he doesn't sing well. Look at other live performance from him before you say he is just yelling.

I think those are jus his ear phones, you use them usually when you dont have monitors to play out of so you can hear yourself, but i may be wrong.

well if you look close, the wire leads down, he has an earphone in his right ear, monitoring the shirt mic.
