PLEASE HELP ME!!! everytime i start Gmod it shows the loading screen then when its done it turns black but you know when ur cursor crosses like singleplayer that noise that i makes i hear that noise so its like its working but i cant see and when i luckly click to play it goes like yours all black but i dont have all the weapons only tools picture and that blue gun :(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

all you have to do is right click the game on the steam library,click "delete local content"and then reinstall the game.

I had to write this separetly because it could fit in the other comment, I know what that window was, i was a window saying that the program couldn't detect my graphics card (in this case CS) and when I clicked ok..it somehow DID detect it, I tried reinstalling gmod and I still didn't get that window again, I even tried reinstalling steam in a different directory... please if anyone knows how to make garrys mod/steam detect my damn graphics card please let me know.

I have a similar problem I think, at least I think it's related to my graphics card. I bought gmod and then a window popped up and I pressed "do not show again" and clicked cancel I think, then when I went to the game, I couldn't see my crosshair, I can't see the weapon select thing at the top of the screen and I have problems when using the spawn menu when many items are on the map, do you know of some code to put in startup perhaps or something to make garrys mod detect my graphics card?

Heh. Very simple fix. Do you have Orange box? The textures come from Orange Box and the source is from HL2 Ep2. If you don't have either then your gmod is going to have a bunch of problems. You should also update your Direct X 10 if you haven't already.

I HAVE A DIFFERENT PROBLEM. when i open garrys mod comes up preparing to launch, then it goes into the game and shows the pic of the 2 guys with a cone on one of their heads, then it shutsdown and says "engine error" a source engine game is required to run mods" which is stupid cause i have CS:S and it runs fine, ANYBODY KNOW, HELP ME! please
