The wrestling Legion of Doom, Hawk and Animal, was the name the Road Warriors went by in the WWF/WWE, probably originally for copyright reasons. Later on, they called them "Road Warrior Hawk and Road Warrior Animal", but still kept the LOD name.

The wresting Legion of Doom were pretty amazing to watch when they first came out..they "dined on disaster and snaked on tragedy" or something like that. I like Hawk and the way he talked. "Well," he'd say...hehehe

I wasn't so much a fan of theirs as I was of Demolition (which, admittedly, was a Road Warrior knockoff)... the first time I really noticed them was the first Royal Rumble (right after I started watching wrestling), and they were the first two entrants... even being tag team partners, that didn't keep them from tearing into eachother till the next guy came out.
