awesome... i'm SO glad this exists... for a long time i thought i'd imagined it. vincent price reading kid's stories on the disney channel does sound kind of crazy, but yeah it actually happened.
Sadly, my story wasn't picked (my first writer's rejection... sigh), but he did send you an autographed bookmark! And for someone whose mother rented "The Pit and the Pendulum", etc., that was heady, heady stuff.
What a quaint, charming little show...and a such a wonderful way to get kids using their imagination, starting a story for the them to finish themselves.
And how nice to see Vincent Price, of all people, in such a pleasant suburban setting! I'm sure he enjoyed stepping outside his standard horror roles to showcase his warm, sensitive side :)
This may have been from 1986 or 1987...Vincent at the time was associated with Disney via the GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE cartoon movie. I don't have my Vincent notes with me at the moment to clarify when this was put together.
I say holy crap too. I remember watching these segments. I remember some stories other than "Miss Tray". There was "The Time Warp", "The Roundup", and "The Squall".
This makes me want to give Vincent Price a big hug!
But he's dead now so I can't. :(

I was beginning to wonder if this show was real or just some imagined memory from my childhood. There's no mention of it on wiki.

This was the Disney Channel? I thought this was one of those PBS Learn-To-Read programs for Adults.
