Some people like "warble" it's called fluttering, this old guy knows nothing about how people use tremolos....Steve Vai sound familiar?? if there was a ZPS in his JEM he would be pissed.
@metallica5252 you can still do it on zp systems.. there are videos on here demonstrating that...granted they aren't as good for it as the old knife edge systems. i'll keep my rg550 in that regard :)
@sacredgeometry I wish they would just go back to the original edge instead of making the edge zero..and I need to see these videos you speak of..because the ZPS in my RGD prestige makes the tremolo extremely rigid, diving down is a lot harder.
Granted its an awful example but I put that down to her technique more than the guitar even though the dampening effect is pretty evident. I agree I love my lo-pro edge its the best trem I have ever used. After the legal issues with floyd rose I think ibanez are still trying to refine their own non licensed trems with their latest pros being excellent if not better than their licensed ones.
@metallica5252 p.s. arent those systems still using the edge rather than ball bearings? I thought the dampening only really occured due to the ball bearing system in the s series.
@sacredgeometry that's a ZR it's completely different from the edge zero the edge zero is knife edged as opposed to ball bearing it's a different feel and sound..when i take the ZPS system out i lose not only sustain, but tuning stability..I like to think of the ZPS system as a sort of tremolo blocking unit more-so than a tremolo-correcting unit. If you catch my drift
@metallica5252 Oh my mistake, these are the ones with tremsetters built in right? Well that sucks. Is the routing the same as the older edge models? If so you could probably get one fitted. I am glad I bought my RG550 over a 3550 in that case then.
@sacredgeometry it's most likely due to the face that my trem is for 7 strings. the extra saddle does something to the unit as a whole..there's more tension and it's very unstable with my ZPS not left inside..I think it's a common problem with all other trems except for maybe a good Kahler system.
@metallica5252 Have you tried getting your guitar set up? I notice you are also using a RG370, hows the bridge stability on that out of interest? I wanted to recommend the 350 to a friend but didnt know if the lower range edges were trustworthy. I subbed to your chan btw :) nice playing.
@sacredgeometry thanks man i appreciate it. The Edge III requires extra attention compared to a standard Floyd due to the sole fact that it's NOT supposed to sit parallel to the body..Luckily newer RG models have the edge zero-II which is an outstanding trem unit so you don't have to worry about the Edge III..i say avoid it at all costs.
@metallica5252 ahh. i have to agree with you there. Although, it is superior in feel and unlike most production guitars, has a real quilt maple top, not a veneer. I think if they included dimarzio's or some other decent pickups and lowered the price a few hundred, it would be much better. (:
@TheMACcar A couple hundred, maybe a thousand, guitars equals economic war...? I'd wager the billion-dollar gaming industry has a larger effect on the economy than this does, fix that. Start a guitar company, and make better guitars than Japan, problem solved, if you actually believe that's a problem.Boycotting foreign powers is nowhere nearly as effective as strengthening our own industry. And never, ever view the deaths of millions of people as "kicking ass."
my ibanez's screw cosmos black paint started to wear off. i had to fight for a while to get it back to the seller, do they mention that on this video?
I got a question about the Edge tremolo system, is it possible to get good intonation with lower tunings like B standard and like drop A? i cant seem to get my Floyd to.
@Donaldkhaos If you're gonna play B standard/Drop A, might as well get a 7 string. I've played extensively with an Ibanez 1527 and it has an edge zero tremolo, definitely the best tremolo I've ever used.
American made good should be considered first not put down...when your 70 and still having to bust yrou ass...I hope your ibanez and nessan stuff was worth it...I own a ibanez guitar but its because i could not afford a fender or american made guitar...if I DID have the money...american made would be my first consideration

amazing designs and finishes on the guitars, I think the plastic cover of the pickup selector seems to be of a cheap guitar .. everything else is amazing
Ibanez have totally re-made themselves. I simply hated their guitars from the 70's and 80's.....bulky, heavy, unstable. They have some of the best guitars in the world now for mass-produced instruments.
@alaanees That's not completely true. Although many Japanese guitars are very well built, they have their "cheapies" too. Overall, yes you are correct. Most Japanese guitars have far higher standards than those made in Mexico, India, Indonesia, etc.
@satjathamma basswood is not a bad wood. it's just different. if you don't like different, stick to your Schecters and ESP.
basswood picks up highs and midrange. good shredding wood. not every metal guitar has to be mahogany.
and did you not hear the part about how the necks on those guitars are hand-sanded, and the frets are hand-rolled? that shit takes work. and the hardware on these guitars is nothing short of top-of-the-line.
I've been playing the guitar for 46 years and I've learned "Made In The USA" ain't the only game in town. It used to be years ago but not anymore. Other people make quality musical instruments too. I've got a 2500 dollar Gibson in my bedroom and honestly......its not worth that kind of money. I don't care what you say...Ibanez is a quality guitar and so is a MIM Strat and Tele. Go ahead, spend 1500 or more on a USA decal, it ain't worth it!
@johnnynocaster i have a MIM strat.. payed 350 for it and upgraded pickups which all costed 300 more.. total cost 650.... wayyyy better sounding than stock USA strats that cost over 1000....
@johnnynocaster Yeah I agree 100% things are different now and I own a Buddy Guy signature strat which is one of the nicest strats ever but damn 2000 grand plus price tag is crazy.
@johnnynocaster Hey... keep in mind in 30 years that the REASON you dont get to retire or have to work two jobs...is because "made in the usa" aint the only game in town. I hate seeing comments like your because it just shows me WHY the were currently fucked... PEOPLE LIKE YOU that buy up every foreign thing avaliable....buying foregin shit & putting down american made stuff is wrong...your country should come firstand any american made good should BE the first one you consider..
@metachozoite This one of the most naive comments I've ever read... country of origin doesn't matter, it's all about the quality and if you like the guitar or not. Putting down other products is wrong, but blind nationalism is also wrong. Just because it's USA made doesn't mean it's universally accepted as the best instrument ever.
@metachozoite This one of the most naive comments I've ever read... country of origin doesn't matter, it's all about the quality and if you like the guitar or not. Your comment is a waste of time spidanez. AMERICA BUILD DAMN NEAR NOTHING HERE! OPEN YOUR EYES. How much do you pay for lets say a Gibson, 1000+, Now get a locking Trem, decent pickups, and well paying guitar and your at lets say 500 to 700 bucks and you get more bang for your buck because everything is done in house. Schaller made Floyds are like 500.00 alone. I like the ZR TREM it's awesome, great design. Japanese have got it going on. Pay 500 bucks for a guitar that plays like a 1000+
@88SuperTrooper did you even read what i said? it was a stab at the american industry for how our executives charge outrageous prices for mediocre products, and they themseleves dont help people that buy products. gibson is one of those companies. Ibanez is what i play by choice.
I own and Ibanez SC1620VV 1999 model. Absolutely fantastic guitar in quality of workmanship and tone. Thick and heavy has never made a guitar sound better. I own Gibson Les Pauls, Fender American Stratocasters and my Ibanez is an equal in sound and craftsmanship. More hand finished steps than either the Gibson or Fender.
and aside from the obvious edge 3 trem suckiness, i have yet to find a build flaw on my RG350dx. the bridge is placed in the exact center of the neck, locking nut never comes lose, wiring was top notch (replaced the pickups( dont like the new bridge pickup gfs crunchy rail i put in it blah)) although i think i got lucky, cause a lot of other ibanez rg350dx ive played arn't nearly as good as mine. i guess it pays off to do extensive guitar searching. ibanez for life!
i dont care what anyone says, asude from the edge 3 tremolo, my rg350dx is the best guitar ive ever played. dont get me wrong prestiges are fucking amazing, but for me the necks are a bit too thin. my next guitar is a ibanez s series ( imported one, amazing zr trem, wizard 2 neck, mohogany body, 3 piece maple neck etc) ive only been playing guitar for about 2 years now, and i think that to get the quality of an ibanez from jackson or esp, you would have to pay double the price.
Damn, if I'd known how the floating trem system worked when I purchased my last guitar, I definitely would've chosen a guitar with these sort of trem systems. I almost can't use the tremolo because the guitar goes out of tune so easily. I also can't tune it in any other way than the standard (EADGBE) without doing major adjustments in the back (or is there another way that I don't know about?)
Should get a new spring to put in the back, though, so that I can use thicker strings than the nines.
The Red Viking one that you're talking about has a Flame Maple top on it. If you go on the Ibanez site, and look at the S Prestige line, you'll see two different types of S Prestige's, one with a Flame top, and one with a Satin Oil finish. Click on the flame top one, and you'll find the guitar you're looking for.
I own an S5470 SOL (one of the two 2008 prestige models). It is an absolutely flawless guitar! The neck is amazingly fast and comfortable, the bridge can take any abuse you throw at it, pickups are a decent quality, and the finish and body is the sexiest out there. A highly recommended guitar!
They btw didn't even talk about the possibility to split the humbucker into an single coil pickup, which the SV prestige has. The SV gives you the ibanez rock sound, and with the singlecoil en tone knob udjustments you'll get a clean bluesy Fender Strat sound, which is a great feature in combination with the SynchroniZR bridge.
Why did they not play anything? Not even a pluck of the string!? C'mon! lol I nearly died holding my breath till the end of this video. We all know, if he even slightly brushed that E string an orchestra of Bach and Beethoven would have echoed throughout our ears... The wonders of Ibanez...
@ARVNpistola313 yeah because those japanese have no clue about technology and building lasting products that dont do near as well as american made products. i mean look at all of the car companies that had to file for bankruptcy in japan in comparrison to american car companies.
@slipknotfreak289 im being sarcastic to the people that always take pride in buying an over priced gibson and to the ones that just love chevy because they are american made...
@spidanez I have to say i disagree with every aspect of your comment; The Japanese have no clue about technology? Ridiculous statement, their skilled workers produce to very high standards and are world leaders in this respect, as they tend to innovate and the rest of the world follows- especially in the TECHNOLOGY sector. The only reason GMC and Ford didn't fail in the recession is because of big fat government handouts to protect jobs, and it's not the first time they've begged for money.
@RyanMcMusic dude... i was being sarcastic. i play only ibanez by choice. i have a custom made rg. yeah i would love to own a custom les paul, but if you break it you are fucked unless you are rich. for the price of one custom paul you can buy 2 custom rg's, or any combo unless its a special edition.
@spidanez *and it certainly won't be the last, whereas manufacturers like Toyota survive on their reputation of quality. In terms of guitars, take for example the inconsistency in production standards of 70's and 80's Fenders AND Gibsons-whilst some were superb some were really awful. An 80's Burny or Fernandes however was built to a much more consistent standard.
I'm not saying I don't love american axes, i'm a Gibson man over an Ibanez any day of the week, but be fair to the Japanese here!
@spidanez Oh an um sir, that shitty guitars your thinking of are made in Like CHINA, INDIA, BRAZIL, MEXICO ( Fender lol ) Some Companies in KOREA, VEITNAM, SINGAPOR, THAILAND, JAPAN. EVEN RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA WE BUILD SOME REALLY SHITTY GUITARS TOO! So dont go saying anyone is better than anyone. You want PERFECTION, GO CUSTOM WITH EVERYTHING YOU WANT AND ITS WHAT YOULL SAY IS PERFECT. THE JAPANESE ARE FURTHER THAN WE ARE IN TECHNOLOGY YOU DUMBASS. Your ignorant face needs fisted.
@88SuperTrooper man. i was being funny. before you go being an internet superman, and say i need to be hit in the face, you should probably know that i am a 6'3 285 powerlifter on the verge of getting a pro card, so if you think youre the man, then bring it. but you are just tough on the net right? because everyone can talk shit without backing it up. i love ibanez. by choice thats what i play.
@spidanez ...hahahahaha you retarded fucking dickhead!! Are you really that stupid? Japanese have no clue about technology? Let me think here? When did I last buy a US made TV? Radio? Camera?...oh never!! ...and dont start me on how fucking shit American cars are!!!
@coltsuperocean10 man this shit is getting old... if you had one fucking shred of intellegence or could read on a high school performance level, you could see that i was being sarcastic to all the fucks that put all their pride in overpriced american made junk. and and to get you started on american made cars, most japanese car companies are more american made than the domestic companies. ford, and gm are made in mexico and canada, while there are toyota, nissan, and honda plants in ky, tn, oh
Well you should the major difference between the different edge tremolos seems to be the quality of materials used and thats about it. But good luck finding an edge zero bridge, you would probably have to shop eBay. I'v had a hard time finding Ibanez parts online.
I'm not so sure. I'm pretty sure that would be quite difficult, atleast where I live anyway. If it's possible, then you'd have to find someone who really knows what they are doing
I don't know I bought the new S5470 Prestige like the one in this video, I'm very happy with it and it costed me 1100 Euros... not that expensive compared to other companies
model of the first guitar, please!

@TheMetalHeaD256 I can agree with you up to a point,
it's not really a tone wood but it's not that bad for tone really,
but what is the problem with it, is it's too soft,
I mean really soft! it doesnt take much to make ugly marks on it if you ding it just a little,
and you often get the problems of scruws getting loose from the wood
because there is no wood left in the holes to make the scruws tight,
it's a really cheap wood, and shouldn't be used on high end guitars,

Damn, if I'd known how the floating trem system worked when I purchased my last guitar, I definitely would've chosen a guitar with these sort of trem systems. I almost can't use the tremolo because the guitar goes out of tune so easily. I also can't tune it in any other way than the standard (EADGBE) without doing major adjustments in the back (or is there another way that I don't know about?)
Should get a new spring to put in the back, though, so that I can use thicker strings than the nines.

Anybody know what color that S Prestige was in? Red Viking...? Didn't look like that in the site; in fact, it looked brown on the site.
Anemoneji 1 year ago
The Red Viking one that you're talking about has a Flame Maple top on it. If you go on the Ibanez site, and look at the S Prestige line, you'll see two different types of S Prestige's, one with a Flame top, and one with a Satin Oil finish. Click on the flame top one, and you'll find the guitar you're looking for.
xXNeoShredderXx 1 year ago
I want a S5470 prestige satin oil mahogany, and RG1550M prestige poisoned pumpkin.Relatively 'cheap' Ibanez prestiges, but knowing Ibanez Im sure theyre top quality.Anyone tryed either?
rockerdude29 1 year ago

ARVNpistola313 2 years ago
@ARVNpistola313 yeah because those japanese have no clue about technology and building lasting products that dont do near as well as american made products. i mean look at all of the car companies that had to file for bankruptcy in japan in comparrison to american car companies.

@spidanez your comparing guitars to cars? 2 tottaly diferent things,
ragingLIAM 1 year ago
@spidanez I have to say i disagree with every aspect of your comment; The Japanese have no clue about technology? Ridiculous statement, their skilled workers produce to very high standards and are world leaders in this respect, as they tend to innovate and the rest of the world follows- especially in the TECHNOLOGY sector. The only reason GMC and Ford didn't fail in the recession is because of big fat government handouts to protect jobs, and it's not the first time they've begged for money.
RyanMcMusic 1 year ago 2
@RyanMcMusic dude... i was being sarcastic. i play only ibanez by choice. i have a custom made rg. yeah i would love to own a custom les paul, but if you break it you are fucked unless you are rich. for the price of one custom paul you can buy 2 custom rg's, or any combo unless its a special edition.
spidanez 1 year ago

@88SuperTrooper man. i was being funny. before you go being an internet superman, and say i need to be hit in the face, you should probably know that i am a 6'3 285 powerlifter on the verge of getting a pro card, so if you think youre the man, then bring it. but you are just tough on the net right? because everyone can talk shit without backing it up. i love ibanez. by choice thats what i play.
spidanez 1 year ago
@88SuperTrooper Tagima is a brazilian guitar company that makes better strats than Fender.
MysterioFan02 1 week ago
@spidanez ...hahahahaha you retarded fucking dickhead!! Are you really that stupid? Japanese have no clue about technology? Let me think here? When did I last buy a US made TV? Radio? Camera?...oh never!! ...and dont start me on how fucking shit American cars are!!!
coltsuperocean10 1 year ago
@coltsuperocean10 man this shit is getting old... if you had one fucking shred of intellegence or could read on a high school performance level, you could see that i was being sarcastic to all the fucks that put all their pride in overpriced american made junk. and and to get you started on american made cars, most japanese car companies are more american made than the domestic companies. ford, and gm are made in mexico and canada, while there are toyota, nissan, and honda plants in ky, tn, oh

i have an RG ibanez, with tremolo i was wondering can i get the edge zero tremolo installed in it?
daehkcarc024 2 years ago
Well you should the major difference between the different edge tremolos seems to be the quality of materials used and thats about it. But good luck finding an edge zero bridge, you would probably have to shop eBay. I'v had a hard time finding Ibanez parts online.
DanDantheMusiqueMan 2 years ago
I'm not so sure. I'm pretty sure that would be quite difficult, atleast where I live anyway. If it's possible, then you'd have to find someone who really knows what they are doing

ALMOST bought that first RG but found a BRAND NEW Les Paul Standard Plus with thin 60's neck for $1880 tax included.
Was only $180 more than a RG and it's a Gibson USA with Mother of pearl inlays, Burstbucker 3's and a beautiful hardshell white lined USA case.
Never thought I would own a Gibson, was always a Jackson, Ibanez person but the thin 60's neck is what sold me!!
