  • Cool hair, Chris Farley..

  • Meatloaf can play guitar! :D

  • @Fluffypopcicle What I ment was that prog metal musicians are unique. Opeth doesen't sound like symphony X or Dream Theater at all. And yes odd meters are progressive. But it's not the only thing that defines progressive. I personally think symphony X are more innovative than hendrix. I've never heard anything as beautiful and creative as A Winters Dream, Sea Of Lies, The Accolade etc. But that's just me.

  • hes got two things you dont, sick guitar skills and a belly, be jelly.

  • Hey videopoli like polipoli8 ! :D ..... =.=

  • is he symphony x guitarrist? and if he doesn't stop moving his head and smiling like a freaking psycho i'm launching a tomahawk right towards him.

  • u shud change this video from "Best Tapping Riff" to "Beast Tapping Riff"

  • He ate up to Yngwie Malmsteen

  • Comment removed

  • oh god! malmsteen fucked timo tolkki and had this great guitar player!!!!!

  • at first i thought he was Yngwie Malmsteen

  • weak...

  • why is yngwie using an ESP and not wearing pirate clothes?

  • @funofsk8ing not yngwie.........

  • @spiffication Sarcasm....

  • @funofsk8ing hmmmmmmmmm, i think, i think, its because he is not malmsteen?

  • @LuffyGearSecond10 jeez wtf i know it's not him it was a joke ok???? forgive me for thinking he looks like him, and trying to put a bit of humor into this comment page...

  • I knew Petrucci was getting fat, but damn.

  • pfft! i could do that with my penis!

  • God, I hope I never master this technique and will evolve into playing guitar straight from the soul.

  • @KitchenMarshall You idiot. Playing pentatonics doesn't mean soul. Playing with soul means that you love what you play. Which Romeo obviously does (note the smile).

  • @1bol1 That's your definition of playing with soul, not mine. Plus you have absolutely no clue of what i'm playing. ..With the voice of Ren (from Ren & Stimpy:) "You full blooded EEDIOT!!!! ;-)

  • @KitchenMarshall Exactly, you just proved my point. That's my (and others) definition. What makes you think that your definition is the right one? I was just guessing that you were a pentatonic wanker (I hope you're not) because it's usually them expressing their jealousy on these kinds of videos.

  • @1bol1 Troll harder haha, pentatonic is almost always present with lead work, I like to think of it as the spine of anything melodic. I hear ya though, many players never actually grasp how scale degrees relate beyond pentatonic, far less articulate work from those fiddlers.

  • @flanzashreddah Pentatonic is always present because it's the easiest scale to apply to any rythm. It doesen't require a significant amount of creativity, technnique or originality. If you play the blues scale, you will get attention from non/new-musicians while you will get either the evil eye or a sigh from an educated musician. Romeo does use the pent scale but he does it either lightning fast or with creativity to make it sound different. Don't be a Rosinni-Rosenberg.

  • @1bol1

That's bull shit dude. It's one thing to wank on pentatonic and blues scales like all those run of the mill blues guitarists you hear at Guitarcenter and it's another to truly master it IE SRV, Eric Johnson, Shawn Lane etc. non-musicians aren't impressed by blues scales. When I sucked I thought that the people that could do hammer ons and pull offs really fast were amazing while I thought the better blues players lacked talent. Playing pentatonic doesn't impress people.

  • @Fluffypopcicle I'm saying that you can't get that creative playing blues as you can playing progressive stuff. Shawn Lane wasn't really a blues player. He had his own style. When I sucked I thought that the people with most creativity, technnique and melody were amazing. And I still think that. And yes. playing pentatonic does impress non-musicians. See kirk hammett, Zakk Wylde, Slash.

  • @1bol1

Slash impressed me because of his phrasing, not speed. He underestimates the amount of musicality in his music and so does most of the guitar population. I was impressed by kirk when i was a noob because of his speed, not the fact that he used pentatonic, and zakk only impressed me when I saw him do some really nice hybrid picking stuff on an acoustic guitar. The blues can be plenty progressive too. I made a blues riff with 2 meters of 4/4 1 meter of 5/4 and the last meter in 9/16.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Ok, that you. I've always looked deeper into music than if it's slow or fast. So their speed doesen't really mean anything to me. I sense something deeper when I hear for example Michael Romeos solos. And playing progressive doesn't mean odd time signatures. Progressive as originally a word to describe unlimitless or evolving music. Blues is Blues. Progressive stuff could be anything.

  • @1bol1

I think you're getting innovation and progression confused there. Progression in music is if the music progresses as in the songs themselves progress and change with no specific structure. Prog metal isn't called prog metal because every prog metal band is extremely innovative. Changing time signatures changes the flow, thus odd meters are progressive by nature. I do agree with you though, the blues is very limited in many aspects (mainly that it has to be sad, no exceptions).

  • @flanzashreddah Sorry, i meant Orsini-Rosenberg

  • 0:16 Jack Black Face

  • Guthrie Govan is better.

  • Chris broderick... nuff said

  • @NahaleGuitar broderick is a good tapper and incredible musician, but i'll tell you there are people out there who do tap better than him. Romeo is not 8 finger tapper, never saw him do it at least, but his solos sound so cool, appropriate, and brilliant everytime he uses it. So my point here is: this is not about who does it technically better, but about who knows how to make tapping fit cleverly in a solo/song and most of all about who can make it sound cool, like mr romeo here:)

  • eddie van halen created 135 accounts to deslike this video !!!

  • Psh, can you play Smoke On The Water???? Yeah...

  • guitar playing pig?

  • @TheCOB98 in soviet russia, yep

  • lol @ butthurt fags who cant do this. maybe you should make another fat joke to divert from the fact that youl never be as good as Michael romeo

  • So many awesome comments here, cleverly pointing out the fact that he is obese. I admire you guy's!

  • Wow, I knew Petrucci was getting fat, but damn!

  • sponsored by KFC

  • looks like he ate his girlfriend!!

  • he's not fat, just full of talent

  • @OlieGuitarFREAK and ckicken

  • @OlieGuitarFREAK and no soul

  • @leeportcam

And what magical device are you using to measure his soul? I feel lots of soul from this. who are you to tell him that he has no soul? It takes somebody really ignorant to say that somebody has n soul just because they don't like him.

  • @Fluffypopcicle with a name like yours....what could I say to convince you what soul is....um...maybe...squat! One day many years from now....you will find it, and when you think of me....think well.

  • @leeportcam

I like BB King, SRV, Hendrix, jazz greats, Clapton, Hendrix etc. I like music of all sorts. I obviously have a much broader and experienced taste in music than you do. Just know that just because YOU can't feel it doesn't mean that it's not there. i have never claimed that something had no soul because it isn't there. I don't feel much from The Beatles, in fact i can't stand most of their stuff, but i never claimed that they had no soul. Pull your head out of your ass.

  • @Fluffypopcicle you named all blues guitar players except clapton and you named most of them twice so how is that a broad taste in music. you like jazz greats, but dont care to name anything lol. you suck the meat popsicle

  • @dean0o0o

OMG ANOTHER TYPO!!! Want me to go on? Fine then, John Coltrane, Johnny Winters, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson, Louis Armstrong, Howling Wolf, Dexter Gourdon, Pat Metheney, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Allan Holdswrth, Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, Frank Gambale, Shawn Lane, Return To Forever (has a combination of some already mentioned), Buddy Guy etc. do I have to state any more? I can take up a good 3 full comments mentioning the artists and bands that I like in jazz and blues.

  • @leeportcam

Continuing: typo. I never claimed something no soul because I don't like it. That's what I meant to say.

  • Michael Romeo is...God!

  • that isn't even a Good FAKE!

  • You sho it watch mab live

  • Did it really take u 18 hours to comeback with that??? Michael angelo batio can do that way better

  • I'd be surprised if this guy has a girlfriend

  • @malamsenen hahahahaha

  • @malamsenen he hasn't a girlfriend

  • @deadstarassembly666 But he can play guitar like a demon. You don't have a girlfriend and can't play guitar.

  • Imagine what he can do to women with fingers like that...

  • @greg1553 no. what?
