"Hollow Body Position"? On a back handspring? Your kidding! Your body is in an arch and not hollow when your reaching back for the floor. I want to see you hollow your body, when doing a back handspring. This drill is to teach the person how to seat, and push off from the floor.
well the bad part is that i cheered for 6 years and im 12 i used to have my back handspring but im afraid to do it now and when i do my front handspring i under cut really bad so i need help i haven't cheered in 3 years
umm lets see she didnt explain anything sooo im guessing u need to be in gymnastics or sum cuz you might get hurt with nothing to protect ur back so dont try that

my friend spots me and she's really good but im too chicken to do it myself cause i feel like i put too much weight on my heels and i dont get enough jump!!! any tips?!?!?!?!
As best as i can help: Bend your knees not too much, but enough to get height, and when you jump, reach for the sky and THEN to the ground, in a half circle motion, like you're painting the sky. remember that all this time, dont bend your arms! Lock them out the whole time, and then shrug your shoulders off the ground (Still not bending your arms!) and snap your feet down. I hope you're trying this on trampoline first! Maybe some tumbling classes will help too! -CheerChickaa

No but far too often kids forget to jump both up and back. They'll either undercut severly or overshoot the distance. This teaches avoiding both.

Learn how to fall. Say what? There's a correct way to fall?! Yep.
TONS of martial arts teach it and you WILL find it on youtube. It also helps if you're about to do a bellyflop or land on your back in a pool too :p
