  • nice tut. very useful man. Thx!

  • nice painting, some words would help.

  • wow... photoshop seems weird in the past...

  • How is that not sped up? I mean really all jokes aside. Nice painting by the way

  • @FeedtheMachine100 : I use a tablet day in day out and have done for 10 years now (and this was done over 4 years ago), I guess I'm just fast...and the dotty brush makes it even faster using this technique...have a look at my other hair painting tutorials (the new one as well)

  • @3DGameResources Oh i will see those then..

  • wow amazing! Just beautiful

  • what are the brushes u used?

  • was this the oldest version of photoshop? great tutorial btw!:D

  • Very good and simple!

Just fyi... some of us do prefer the quick videos, personally I hate when they are slow. I need to get to the steps ASAP.

  • WOW! that easy THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!.. ive been seeing alot of art work recently and the hair looks awfully hard but now i know its just simple easy steps.. agian really appreciate you uploading this!!! :D

  • freaking hourglass makes me really really uneasy

  • yeah, it's cool, but unfortunately it's not a tutorial... you just show that you are good, you don't teach

  • Man I hate sped up vids like this.

You make it look so easy :/

    Good job

  • @funlover163 : It's not sped up!!

  • were is the blur tool in pse 7.0

  • @bakugantottalyrox13 i use ps cs4 atm and have used pse9 in the past but im sure most of ps use the same stuff .. if they do, blur should be under ...*Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur*... there are many other blur techniques but i always stick to and have found the most effective is Gaussian .. if you havent already found this out because ive just seen your comment is 2 months old lol, well i hoped i helped ... i bet you dont even have ps anymore lmaoo =D

  • Awesome but I wish it wasn't so fast!

  • Wow nice and thanks!

  • thats hardly a turtorial! No advice whatsoever!

  • sorry buh photo shop sucks gimp is way better and gimp is free 2

  • Holy snozzberries. From a few lines, to human hair.

  • as far as mi mind let me think this is not realy a tutorial, but it helped me to figure some things out... thanks a lot ^^

  • this is great, since its 4 years old. just a shame u dont say what ur doing in the vid.

please write step-by-step what u did in the description

  • @ggggdad I'm Agree, I really need a tutorial like this, that explains some basics, cause I'm totally newbie to drawing hair in PS...

  • do the brushes come with gimp too? can you send me a link of the dotted brushes?

  • Hours of step by step hairstyling videos and professional hairdressing DVD training. ToniMoretti dotttttttttt TK

  • :D This was very helpful to see! (I suck with hair... lol) Great job, even with just that one little section of hair. And thank you for posting it! I'm going to go and try it out now~

  • nice XD

  • Do you use a tablet?

  • very cool but...why u do not use the new version of Photoshop..like cs3 or cs4

  • Because this was recorded 3 years ago they didn't exist at that point. ;-)

  • All I can say is "Boom headshot".

  • @HackedVision LOL I assume you've played Creepy Doll?

    n00b. Learn to read.

  • genious !! love it

  • Thank you so much for this video on hair!!! I have been using text (PDF) tutorials all day on how to make hair and they are all so damn complicated. This is much easier for me to do and is working nicely with my Poser/Vue renders.

    !!!THANKS AGAIN!!!

  • The final effect you managed to create is great. But I still couldn't figure how to create a "Dotty" brush on Gimp :<

Shame, I think I could actually put your method to use =/

  • Search for 'create brush in gimp' on here.

  • i think you should try to recreate these tutorials with sound for beginners but i get it because i am an experienced gimp user.

  • i think u guys r dumb for like complian 24/7 gosh

  • when can I download the brushes in the video?

  • When can I download the brush in the video?

  • ok havent u heard of using the Circle brushes? those brushes r actually for us mousies. not ppl wit a tablet. i want a tablet so i can do hair the EASIER way insted of using the BRUSHES tht i freakn hate. i hav to use the path tool and btw i use gimp. i can make it look like i drew the hair with a tablet. ^.^

  • Am sorry I couldnt learn much from this cause I culdnt even see wat brush size u were using or anything???

  • You cant see that I'm drawing with a thin brush sometimes and and thick one at others?

  • i agree with JGthedirector ur not telling us wat settings u have on the brushes or anything

its just u doing it. not a tutorial at all dont label it as such

  • ...because there are no settings, back in 2006 when I did this photoshop had no brush engine as it does today...and the pen pressure controls the opacity so theres nothing to tell, and as I've mentioned lots of times I didn't have a mic back then lol!

  • Nice Video! :D Your a really great drawer.

  • Are you using a tablet?

  • yes, a wacom graphire.

  • that's awesome o: it inspires me to play around with photoshop ^_^ ..if only i had it atm though u.u;

  • thats not a tutoral,

thats just you doing something :S?

how is ANYONE ment to learn off this ?

  • I actually learned something....

  • if you put in the effort to see what they're actually doing instead of needing someone to spoon feed you information, you'd learn something.

i actually learned quite a lot from this just by watching

  • i learned plenty..

  • Hi mate. Watch and learn is a philosophy in many things. Same here. Look for the brushes which are used and when. You surely learn something:)

  • do you think you could do makeovers?

you see, i kinda want to get a haircut but idk if itll look good or not. So i was wondering you could photoshop me (:

  • sorry, but i kinda fail to see how this is a tutorial. i'll bet you could make some baddass speed painting videos, though.

  • it would help if u talk

  • Didn't have a mic at the time lol ;-)

  • do you have one now? you could add some explanation that way...? good video otherwise though

  • Do you know any good program which I can use to draw? I mean, other than Photoshop

  • try sumopaint, its a free online program - google it

  • gimp

  • Painter is very good to draw i think..........water color , pastel , color pencil strokes etc

but only draw, not photo editing.

  • looks so sleek n shine

  • what brush did you use?

  • its the airbrush with the standard brushes...but you can make your own quite easily (read the help files)

  • thnx.. i was about to ask

  • your good are you going to log in imvu or make imvu hair styles

  • What version of photoshop do u use?

  • This tutorial is a couple of years old, even so I stuck with version 5.5 until last year as it was so fast and stable!!

  • GOOD TUT!

by the way did you use a graphics tablet? If you didnt then your awesome!!

  • Yes a wacom graphire!!

  • OMG that looks so so...real

  • no everything needed is a naked chick around that hair.

  • can you make one like this step by step please. Cause this doesnt realy explain much its more a visualization . Also what brushes do you use ????

  • how do i make my brush look like that ???

  • can i ask u a question ?

what tools are you using their ... ?

  • Thank u for sharing. good technic. It looks realistic.

  • While this is amazing... you just drawing, without explaining anything is definitely NOT a tutorial. Kudos though.

  • Nothing to explain really. Just use your brush tool, eraser, smudge, and adjust the opacity and strength as needed. A filter blur might work well, if needed. All that's left is to follow the brush strokes that he does.

  • WOW!!!!!!

  • Whats up with your cursor o.O

  • its just the video recording software I used at the time...couldn't quite keep up ;-)

  • i think his pc is a little slow to record and his cursor show the waiting cursor.

  • Brilliant! i love it! [:

  • i feel so stupid right now

    insanely stupid

  • WOW that is amazing but its not really a tutorial its more like watching you draw hair

  • ya i agree

  • oh .. my .. gosh, I feel like such a goof! I spend hours obsessing over every strand, & my results are no where near your natural flowing effect. Back to the drawing board I go to try this out! Thank you so much!

  • requesting somthing...can you make blond long curly hair?for the sims?plz!!!!!

  • brilliant

  • Your hair is so gergous

  • u genious!!!!!

  • Holly crap, you are an amazing artist! I know those techniques, but can't get hair to look that good. Nice one!

  • This version is much nicer then the red hair. I think it looks a bit more natural...

  • My hero! You just saved me a load of time. This will now replace my fill+burn/dodge style.

  • Nice! Wish my hair was shiny and black like that <3

  • omg thats cool

  • that's awsome :)

  • what is the tool he uses next to the smudge tool?

  • Thats the Dodge/Burn tool, it basically darkens areas or if you hold the ALT key while drawing it lightens areas!

  • hmmm are u using a tablet? cause ive got no such control over my ordinary mouse... =/

congrats, this is a gift! =)

  • Drawing hair is very useful if you can draw good, want to become better at drawing ((On the computer)), and to get better at art period. :)

  • outdated version...

  • if you are god, there is no difference...
