Youtube recommended this video to me. I do not recommend it to others. No prep, poor technique, bad lather and most of all he doesn't know what he's talking about. I know the names of the creams I use everyday. Truefitt and Hill not hall. Use this video as a "how not to straight razor shave" video and learn hw to be a man from someone more manly.
That is a real straight. In fact, the Feather straight razors have a sharper tip than do most regular straight8s. Put a new feather razor in that baby and go to work. You'll see.
Did he actually call that Feather Artist Club a "dove shaver"? Truefitt and Hall? Its "Hill". Some of the best cream on the market, not soap as he called it.
Nice video. Couple tips though. skin stretching would dramatically help get more hair cut off with each stroke. also helps make it easier not to get cut. The way that you are holding the razor is also counterproductive.
Proper lather don't try or melt on your face before you have a chance to make your full pass.

Your technique does not look correct and your lather seems to be a bit dry.

I would get a deeper soap mug so you can work your lather better.

The Dove Shaver? I might have heard that wrong. It looks like a Feather Artist Club razor to me.

skin stretching is key and 30% angle holding as well is key

Anybody who tries to learn straight blade shaving from this will run screaming in the other direction.
Nothing good ever follows anything that starts with "This is about teaching you how you can be more like me".

Practice with the left, just go real easy if you're shaky. It does pay off.
