You can "consider" yourself mulatto all you want, but unless one of your parents is specifically black and the other specifically white, then you can't be one. Idk why so many mixed people with black and some other race and a little bit of white in their family want to consider theirselves mulatto? You don't fit the description of Mulatto as you imply. So yes, "fuck me" I don't consider you a mulatto. Why do you even want to consider yourself mulatto, it's just a stupid race, jesus.
Sorry to break bad news to you smrfox99, but the likes of 'Tiff' doesn't consider you a mulatto. Mulattoes are the kids of black and european people. Chinese are't european. You are afro asian or blasian but you're not mulatto. Sorry, you're not 'elite' enough, you don't make the grade but it kind of sounds like your parents are elitist themselves.
@MRBLACKPOWERFUL02 Actually, Mulatto is the mixture of one black & one white parents- none of them have to be from Europe to classify you as one. Being that there is nobody on this earth that is purely one race, I believe I'd fit the description; 1- being I have white in my family, 2- I have black also in my family on both sides. Either way, I'm not looking for acceptance, or whatever- to be honest, I don't care for the labels. We're all human. So fuck whomever doesn't "consider" me a mulatto.
@smrfox99 They don't have to be from europe but they do have to be of european decent. If 2 black ppl have a child but 1 of the parents had a great great grandfather who was white, that wouldn't make the child a mulatto. The % of white & black genes counts. If you throw other racial mixes in to the genepool, you end up with a mixed person, tri racial, or multi racial person. Juidging from what you say you have in your racial background, you are tri-racial but who's keeping track of these things.

Yes, I'm accepted by all of them, and no I haven't gone to China, closest I've ever been was Russia. I plan on going there, hopefully that can come to fruition.
@smrfox99 Jamaican. That's a nationality. Not a race. Obviously there's not a unified Jamaican identity, otherwise you wouldn't say, "Jamaican and Chinese" Indians are just as Jamaican as Chinese, who are just as Jamaican as Arabs who are just as Jamaican as Africans. It's like saying: Hi, I'm mixed. I am American and British. It's simply stating a nationality and possibly cultural affiliation. Culture and race (in our global society) aren't the same thing.
chinese is a nationality also . black=colour and jamaican=nationality , even though the default ethnicity in jamaica is of sub saharian african ancestry. so YES when you think Jamaica its black skin that comes to mind.
@bintasyllah you should be able to realize that he is talkin about a black and asian race. chinese is not a race neither...but you point out that jamaica is not a race. I know somebody who is biracial and grew up in jamaica til 18, and he was referred to as the white boy! so yeah it(race) does matter
@171TITO My comment does not argue whether race matters. If you noticed, after the extensive example I provided about Jamaica I thought the implication of Chinese as a nationality rather than race, was equally inherent. So let me say that both Jamaica and China aren't races for the record. And Asian is not a race either. That is to say, if Asian is a race, so is American. And if Chinese is a race, so is Jamaican.
@bintasyllah There is not enough characters allowed to actually breakdown racial classifications on this blurb. The topic is too rhetorical. However you should have some understanding that Chinese derive from some sort of east asian/Han chinese/mongoloid root/race/ethnic group, and Jamaican majorily stems back to african negro/negroid/black...whatever. I am pretty much sure that's what he was getting at. And you know, now that I re-read your comment I don't know why I responded the way I did: )
Race and class are linked to one another in Jamaica.let's be honest a handful fo white and mulattos are richer than 80% of blacks in Jamaica. clearly race is a dominant factor in this equation. You just put your blinders on. 95% of people killed in jamaican streets tend to be black and very dark skinned.Tha'ts the reality

@gigglez1101 But i have seen asians with wide noses and dark skin so I guess you have a bit of a point. I just misinterpreted you saying you were white and asian only because you look mostly black. You have some sort of inferiority complex because not everyone has black in them. CALLING JAMAICANS BLACK IS JUST STUPID...I had a jamaican friend and she was NOT black- she was pureblooded Indian.... How can you call her black???? It doesnt make any sense when Stupid people call someone black- when they really are NOT black......
we all got a little extra spice in dem mi dads born here (not jamaican) my moms Jamaican n along the lines theres a whole bunch of indians and 3:45 i've climbed a tree xD
I had the same race based issues. I also am Jamaican (parents born there, I'm born here) with Chinese and German ancestry and people are very ignorant of us, and also are not open to mixed raced people being from Jamaica. Not all but some, but a lot.
@1msbracey My race is: West Indian, Asian, European white. I have no black in me persay- dumbass. Think about the things you type, before you press post comment.
@smrfox99 come on honey get real, look at yourself in the mirror, you look black, at least part black. its obvious. someone who is half asian and half white does not look like you, you clearly look at least some part black. you just prefer to say jamaican to not say black.
@rvggarcon come on honey, get real.....you're generalizing, and you are stereotyping...because not EVERYONE with that mix.....looks completely different from my self, step outside your box.
". someone who is half asian and half white does not look like you, you clearly look at least some part black." <---------------If that's not one of the most ignorant comments I've seen on YouTube, I don't know what to say. Smh.
@smrfox99 Someone who is half white and half asian does not look black, it's physically impossible but whatever makes you feel better, i'm not black but you should be more ok with what you look like because you look pretty black no offense.
@rvggarcon But what does black look like? I fail to understand your meaning. I look pretty black? Michael Jordan looks pretty black, do I look like Michael Jordan? "Look black" = a generalization. All black people don't "look" black. That's a very ignorant statement.
@smrfox99 All black people don't look black? LOL If someone doesn't look black then they're not black, it's as simple as that. If they look mixed, then they're mixed but yes you do look like Michael Jordan only a little lighter. You are dark compared to a white person and if you said you were Jamaican or African everyone would believe you. The people that said you are not Jamaican were probably black or blind. Seriously look in the mirror and accept that you look mostly black.
@rvggarcon what are you blabbing on about? haha...this guy looks like michael jordan just a little bit lighter??...haha I think you better get your eyes checked, this guy quite obviously looks mixed and looks no more than 50% black lmao
@rvggarcon Interesting. There are are quite a few SE Asians (primarily Chinese and Vietnamese) in my area that have married black. It is very interesting how most SE Asian and black mixes look blacker than many other mixes (ex. West Euro + Black; Mestizzo+Black). In fact, China, Vietnam and Mexico very often produce very dark mixes. Honestly, this YTuber is the lightest SE Asian+ Black mix I've EVER seen (unless it's just camera lighting)
@smrfox99 Black is dark skin, big lips, frizzy hair and a wide nose like you have. But i guess i should apologize because you do look slightly mixed. However you must be blind if you think someone who is half white and half asian looks black. If someone has no black blood in them, it's physically impossible for them to end up looking black like you.
@rvggarcon I personally know many ppl that are half white/Asian- and look more white/ and or Spanish..etc..than I do.
"If someone has no black blood in them, it's physically impossible for them to end up looking black like you." <----You need to travel more, and get out from under your rock, if that was an honest statement. Because I don't have a wide nose, dark skin, etc....and guess what- I have black in me. There's no such thing as physically impossible. You must be sheltered.
@rvggarcon According to scientific findings The entire world are a subset of Black Africans .Black Africans have all features from people all over the world bec they r the original people/race..We have changed over the years based upon environment, weather, natural selection etc...As for your very intelligent comment some of my friends who are from Nigeria & Ghana have extremely thin lips, thin/small nose but r extremely dark, some asians who have very large lips & flat wide noses etc..
@smrfox99 Venessa Williams looks pretty black and you don't look anything like her either. You look as if you are of African heritage, and you are. THAT'S why you look black. Black like Michael Jordan, but not like Venessa Williams. You look Asian too. But like Tiger Woods Asian-type, not like Keanu Reaves (Asian Type) --I know Hawaii is Polynesian (but the masses more closely associate ethnically with Asia than mainland USA)
@smrfox99 Ok, I know I've posted alot, but this really is a serious question. In your mind. Do you REALLY think that African+Asian Mixes look EXACTLY the same as Euro+Asian Mixes??? I'm really curious to hear of those you've seen with a Euro mix that you think look like you...
@rvggarcon I do understand what you mean. There are are many dark-skinned people with kinky hair all over the globe (ESPECIALLY IN ASIA) yet, they [obviously] aren't of African decent. This guy definitely has extremely strong AFRICAN features, but I EQUALLY see the ASIAN features in him as well. Even in China, ethnic groups vary widely in features, stature and hair texture. Asia would really shock you. Stay away from the TV and see the real thing!
@smrfox99 Um.. I too think you are at least part black, like most ppl on here.you see most ppl are harping on it cos its there.but you are mixed nonetheless.what most ppl don't like is that you have this idea that everyone uses cliches to describe both ethnicity and nationality.that's really dishonest.you work extra hard to paint most posters as monoracial with an obtuse view of phenotypes.
@bintasyllah its not their fault, they obviously don't need our permission to be what they are biracials this is what people tend to forget.social identification has zero value cos its all made-up.It doesn't suck to be blacker biracials, most are perfectly fine individuals.
@cannoir I disagree with your statement that "social identification has zero value", because it is SOCIETY that places VALUE on IDENTITY. Yes, identity itself is subject, as is value, yet they become real entities in the context of society & culture. Notice the YTuber said IN JAMAICA he thought he was white. Socially, that may be acceptable there --and with such, may come privileges. However, in USA he'll ALWAYS be commonly identified as black. It suck 4 blk bi's that want a "white" identity
@rvggarcon but for the most part, it doesn't really matter if he say Jamaican, Nigerian or Haitian, the associations for each of these nations conjure the same image...if you catch my drift. I mean, after all. While there is SOME mixed and non-African decent folks in Jamaica, the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY are...
Good video. I'm mixed and identify as mixed. I feel that by identifying by what I am, I am not self-hating since saying mixed means acknowledging everything I am. Picking a side when you're mixed, now that's self-hate and denying.
Some people say its all about looks, but that's not entirely true. Confuse a British with a French and see if they simply "go with the flow" because that's what someone thought of them. They will correct you about their reality, regardless of looks.
@Cacicazgos Yeah, but again, you're talking about NATIONALITY. And you sorta have it wrong; The British don't really have a problem with French, but the English do. And the thing about nationality is that while one can be discreetly placed in 1 or 2 or 3 nationality boxes, it is often established through the generation of paperwork, and thus can be forfeited. while race/ethnicity , in these days, can't so easily be changed.
Most bi-racial children don't give a shit if you think they are denying there blackness. That word really doesn't mean anything. You can be completely identical to someone of a completely different race. It all depends on genetics.
When you "most", you put yourself in a quagmire. You, for a fact, do not know most bi-racial children (and if you do that's scary). That word really does mean a lot, to a lot of people. You cannot base your opinion, on mere microscopic speculation. As far as your last two sentences go, that's common sense.
@trevor4king I'm not so convinced that biracials care so much about what the marginalised racial identity they have think. It's the majority race they/you spend countless hours trying to convince that you too belong; are apart; belong to the brethren...that's where the work comes in...
It's a nationality, that's known. I thought saying Jamaican/Chinese (which is a common ethnic group) would hint to you....the obvious..aka Jamaican =West Indian = a black race. But I guess the common sense doesn't grasp everyone.
well FYI not all jamaicans are black not all west indians are black..so you cant refer to them as a black race. I thought u would know that. i guess ur the one lacking the common sense. chinese is the ethnic group, jamaican is the nationality. is it would be a person of just chinese blood but born in Jamaica...and if ur mixed then youd say Jamaican of mixed race
There's a West Indian group, that's considered Caucasian? Because if there is let me know, anything like latin, or spanish w.e is considered black ...and the Chinese stands as it's own.....so what..and all West Indians aren't all black...but I already stated my other mix, so isn't it obvious dominantly...it's not white..
I have a friend who's darker than Seal who thinks he's white, too. Mulattoes aren't the only ones trying to get away from black. WTF!! I think it's funny that someone profiled you as white and black and you turned out to be second generation black and chinese. Wake up people. Love your heritage and stop running away from black.
Yea, people confuse me with being biracial or Dominican sometimes because I have a mixed background. But i quickly tell them that I'm black. (Especially if they are speaking spanish to me--lol). But a lot of biracials love to linger on the topic by asking me what else I have in me. I am so tired of race. Who cares anymore. White and Black is about the same to me these days. Yea there's the racist person here or there, but they are the minority now, which is funny in retrospect. Anyway. Peace.
@WhereYaBoss LOL! This was so funny; Blacker than Seal! This makes me think of ALLL the black people from all over the world that go to the USA and don't want to be called black. Don't want to be aligned with the Black Americans there. Could not care less how the pie got there, but want their slice-- and their RIGHTS too. Yet somehow, over the years, no matter what conclusion they die with, they will be thoroughly convinced that they ARE NOT white. America, the beautiful, will see to it! ;-D
hey, I thought you we're mulatto for a second, so I continued to listen on and realized you were mixed with other things. why not post pics of your parents?
That Jamaican motto is dead. LOL, I'm not Jamaican, but my parents are. I'm frm the UK. You are right about Jamaica being a melting pot. You should see my family in Jamaica. They come in all shades and colours. It's beautiful!!!!!!!
you seem to be proud of your jamaica roots. taking a look at the road jamaica is going down right now, what do think can be done to help the country and would you ever go back?
I think there needs to be a tighter sense of unity, between the government and the people. It's a matter of politics, and the way a country is being governed. The problem is escalated with the fact that, Jamaica is a third world country, and cannot afford the lethargic attitude a government upholds(in comparison to this country). A reform of rights, and reconstruction, I believe can help the country. As far as moving back to the island, as of now, no. I believe America has more opportunities.
But I do however, plan to move back permanently...once I retire. To be born there, and die there, I believe would be good for me(not that I want to die all of a sudden when I retire lmao).
Interesting mon. I was born in Jamaica(Montego Bay) aswell buh none of my parents are jamaican. Father is nigerian and moma is norwegian. Sweet having a whole mulatto family? :D sawnds gr8 mon, peace.
Wow, I loved your responses, and I just wanted to say that I'm a b/w mix and you kind of look like my brother from the same parents. The way you describe Jamaica makes me wish that I might have been born there instead of in the very segregated USA. Anyway, nice perspective, I enjoyed listening to what you had to say.
And so do you, you fucking idiot. What are you, a pure breed with absolutely no mix? No you dumbass, those don't exist anymore.
Lol @ Heil Hitler, that mothafucka would have shot you dead lmao.
Instead of trying to be an unintelligent, moronic YouTube skinhead , why don't you go shovel some fucking snow. You can even pick up a book, because you seem very bored.
You come from a mixed jamaican family like me.You know how the colour thing is rich,in jamaica. They said the same thing about me when I came to america.
Hi Steve! Thanks for the vid! I didn't know the ?'s were in the description either, lol, cuz that video is kinda old. I would've written them down too. Are there many Jamaican/Chinese mixes in Jamaica? Little sisters! So fun. I love how you say "that programmed us." We are so programmed. And the stuff about "you're not Jamaican" cuz you don't have dreads, etc. And thanks for sharing that you thought you were white. I find that so interesting. Thanks for sharing your story!!!
CALLING JAMAICANS BLACK IS JUST STUPID...I had a jamaican friend and she was NOT black- she was pureblooded Indian.... How can you call her black???? It doesnt make any sense when Stupid people call someone black- when they really are NOT black......

To some of the people that were making dumb and stupid comments- NOT all jamaicans are black. Some jamaicans are Indian, Asian, white, etc...

I had the same race based issues. I also am Jamaican (parents born there, I'm born here) with Chinese and German ancestry and people are very ignorant of us, and also are not open to mixed raced people being from Jamaica. Not all but some, but a lot.

@smrfox99 come on honey get real, look at yourself in the mirror, you look black, at least part black. its obvious. someone who is half asian and half white does not look like you, you clearly look at least some part black. you just prefer to say jamaican to not say black.
rvggarcon 1 year ago
@rvggarcon come on honey, get real.....you're generalizing, and you are stereotyping...because not EVERYONE with that mix.....looks completely different from my self, step outside your box.
". someone who is half asian and half white does not look like you, you clearly look at least some part black." <---------------If that's not one of the most ignorant comments I've seen on YouTube, I don't know what to say. Smh.
smrfox99 1 year ago
@smrfox99 Someone who is half white and half asian does not look black, it's physically impossible but whatever makes you feel better, i'm not black but you should be more ok with what you look like because you look pretty black no offense.
rvggarcon 1 year ago
@rvggarcon But what does black look like? I fail to understand your meaning. I look pretty black? Michael Jordan looks pretty black, do I look like Michael Jordan? "Look black" = a generalization. All black people don't "look" black. That's a very ignorant statement.
smrfox99 1 year ago 9
@smrfox99 All black people don't look black? LOL If someone doesn't look black then they're not black, it's as simple as that. If they look mixed, then they're mixed but yes you do look like Michael Jordan only a little lighter. You are dark compared to a white person and if you said you were Jamaican or African everyone would believe you. The people that said you are not Jamaican were probably black or blind. Seriously look in the mirror and accept that you look mostly black.
rvggarcon 1 year ago

@rvggarcon Interesting. There are are quite a few SE Asians (primarily Chinese and Vietnamese) in my area that have married black. It is very interesting how most SE Asian and black mixes look blacker than many other mixes (ex. West Euro + Black; Mestizzo+Black). In fact, China, Vietnam and Mexico very often produce very dark mixes. Honestly, this YTuber is the lightest SE Asian+ Black mix I've EVER seen (unless it's just camera lighting)
bintasyllah 1 year ago
@smrfox99 Black is dark skin, big lips, frizzy hair and a wide nose like you have. But i guess i should apologize because you do look slightly mixed. However you must be blind if you think someone who is half white and half asian looks black. If someone has no black blood in them, it's physically impossible for them to end up looking black like you.
rvggarcon 1 year ago

@rvggarcon I personally know many ppl that are half white/Asian- and look more white/ and or Spanish..etc..than I do.
"If someone has no black blood in them, it's physically impossible for them to end up looking black like you." <----You need to travel more, and get out from under your rock, if that was an honest statement. Because I don't have a wide nose, dark skin, etc....and guess what- I have black in me. There's no such thing as physically impossible. You must be sheltered.
smrfox99 1 year ago
@rvggarcon According to scientific findings The entire world are a subset of Black Africans .Black Africans have all features from people all over the world bec they r the original people/race..We have changed over the years based upon environment, weather, natural selection etc...As for your very intelligent comment some of my friends who are from Nigeria & Ghana have extremely thin lips, thin/small nose but r extremely dark, some asians who have very large lips & flat wide noses etc..
classydivabitch 1 year ago
@smrfox99 Venessa Williams looks pretty black and you don't look anything like her either. You look as if you are of African heritage, and you are. THAT'S why you look black. Black like Michael Jordan, but not like Venessa Williams. You look Asian too. But like Tiger Woods Asian-type, not like Keanu Reaves (Asian Type) --I know Hawaii is Polynesian (but the masses more closely associate ethnically with Asia than mainland USA)
bintasyllah 1 year ago
@smrfox99 Ok, I know I've posted alot, but this really is a serious question. In your mind. Do you REALLY think that African+Asian Mixes look EXACTLY the same as Euro+Asian Mixes??? I'm really curious to hear of those you've seen with a Euro mix that you think look like you...
bintasyllah 1 year ago
@rvggarcon You're an idiot!! You are the type of asshole that causes further division trying to classify instead of UNDERSTAND!! Great job!!
RedSkullthagreat 1 year ago
@rvggarcon "you look pretty black no offense." Why would that be offensive? lol
CameronCourts 1 year ago
@rvggarcon I do understand what you mean. There are are many dark-skinned people with kinky hair all over the globe (ESPECIALLY IN ASIA) yet, they [obviously] aren't of African decent. This guy definitely has extremely strong AFRICAN features, but I EQUALLY see the ASIAN features in him as well. Even in China, ethnic groups vary widely in features, stature and hair texture. Asia would really shock you. Stay away from the TV and see the real thing!
bintasyllah 1 year ago
@smrfox99 Um.. I too think you are at least part black, like most ppl on here.you see most ppl are harping on it cos its there.but you are mixed nonetheless.what most ppl don't like is that you have this idea that everyone uses cliches to describe both ethnicity and nationality.that's really dishonest.you work extra hard to paint most posters as monoracial with an obtuse view of phenotypes.
cannoir 1 year ago
@cannoir I agree. But this is unfortunately a phenomenon with the blacker-looking biracial people. It's really sad. I'd hate to be them.
bintasyllah 1 year ago
@bintasyllah its not their fault, they obviously don't need our permission to be what they are biracials this is what people tend to forget.social identification has zero value cos its all made-up.It doesn't suck to be blacker biracials, most are perfectly fine individuals.
cannoir 1 year ago
@cannoir I disagree with your statement that "social identification has zero value", because it is SOCIETY that places VALUE on IDENTITY. Yes, identity itself is subject, as is value, yet they become real entities in the context of society & culture. Notice the YTuber said IN JAMAICA he thought he was white. Socially, that may be acceptable there --and with such, may come privileges. However, in USA he'll ALWAYS be commonly identified as black. It suck 4 blk bi's that want a "white" identity
bintasyllah 1 year ago

Mixed is mixed.
Cacicazgos 2 years ago 11
@Cacicazgos Yeah, but again, you're talking about NATIONALITY. And you sorta have it wrong; The British don't really have a problem with French, but the English do. And the thing about nationality is that while one can be discreetly placed in 1 or 2 or 3 nationality boxes, it is often established through the generation of paperwork, and thus can be forfeited. while race/ethnicity , in these days, can't so easily be changed.

Most bi-racial children don't give a shit if you think they are denying there blackness. That word really doesn't mean anything. You can be completely identical to someone of a completely different race. It all depends on genetics.
trevor4king 2 years ago 4
When you "most", you put yourself in a quagmire. You, for a fact, do not know most bi-racial children (and if you do that's scary). That word really does mean a lot, to a lot of people. You cannot base your opinion, on mere microscopic speculation. As far as your last two sentences go, that's common sense.
smrfox99 2 years ago
@trevor4king I'm not so convinced that biracials care so much about what the marginalised racial identity they have think. It's the majority race they/you spend countless hours trying to convince that you too belong; are apart; belong to the brethren...that's where the work comes in...
bintasyllah 1 year ago
um my yute..Jamaican is not a race yuh shoulda kno dat. betta yuh seh ur black and chiney.
junkafras 2 years ago
It's a nationality, that's known. I thought saying Jamaican/Chinese (which is a common ethnic group) would hint to you....the obvious..aka Jamaican =West Indian = a black race. But I guess the common sense doesn't grasp everyone.
smrfox99 2 years ago
well FYI not all jamaicans are black not all west indians are black..so you cant refer to them as a black race. I thought u would know that. i guess ur the one lacking the common sense. chinese is the ethnic group, jamaican is the nationality. is it would be a person of just chinese blood but born in Jamaica...and if ur mixed then youd say Jamaican of mixed race
junkafras 2 years ago 4

WhereYaBoss 2 years ago
I agree with you 100%, people are trying to run away from blackness like it's a disease. Self hate destroys only yourself.
This kid seems to have found who he is, it will only get better as he grows up. A lot of mixed kids have no clue.
ladybott5 2 years ago 3
Yea, people confuse me with being biracial or Dominican sometimes because I have a mixed background. But i quickly tell them that I'm black. (Especially if they are speaking spanish to me--lol). But a lot of biracials love to linger on the topic by asking me what else I have in me. I am so tired of race. Who cares anymore. White and Black is about the same to me these days. Yea there's the racist person here or there, but they are the minority now, which is funny in retrospect. Anyway. Peace.
WhereYaBoss 2 years ago
@WhereYaBoss LOL! This was so funny; Blacker than Seal! This makes me think of ALLL the black people from all over the world that go to the USA and don't want to be called black. Don't want to be aligned with the Black Americans there. Could not care less how the pie got there, but want their slice-- and their RIGHTS too. Yet somehow, over the years, no matter what conclusion they die with, they will be thoroughly convinced that they ARE NOT white. America, the beautiful, will see to it! ;-D

you seem to be proud of your jamaica roots. taking a look at the road jamaica is going down right now, what do think can be done to help the country and would you ever go back?
jamaican2009ev 3 years ago 2
I think there needs to be a tighter sense of unity, between the government and the people. It's a matter of politics, and the way a country is being governed. The problem is escalated with the fact that, Jamaica is a third world country, and cannot afford the lethargic attitude a government upholds(in comparison to this country). A reform of rights, and reconstruction, I believe can help the country. As far as moving back to the island, as of now, no. I believe America has more opportunities.
smrfox99 3 years ago
But I do however, plan to move back permanently...once I retire. To be born there, and die there, I believe would be good for me(not that I want to die all of a sudden when I retire lmao).
