This happens to me all the time, most of the time is because, I'll minimize GW for some miscellaneous reason. Then when I reopen it, you can see underneath the ground, the screen flashes such as this, and you can see the program that i had opened when it turns white. If I can i might post a video of it on my comp. (maybe)

Its a graphical error, sometimes this could even mean that your card it going out, or if you are overclocking then they are most likely artifacts (bad things) kinda funny though.
