It's a means of communication. It's not that hard to figure out. Why did people ever write letters, emails or blogs. Why do people make movies or take pictures? Vlogging is just a different medium of expression.

And it's a craft. Some people are WAAAY better at it than others. For example, I don't ramble on for eight minutes about my day.
