@slash5155 Nah I haven't changed the pickups. They're pretty shit compared to my other guitars but not completely awful. The action was perfect when I got it so haven't bothered lowering it

Its fairly close. But when they do a chord and let it ring, Paolo usually keeps on playing, Usually using gallops until they switch to another chord or they change up the riffs.

How do you do the sweeps at the start of the first solo? normaly sweeps arent that hard for me lol

At the very start they're just bog standard 3 string sweeps, so just start off extremely slow and make sure your technique is smooth and clean, then build up speed little by little. For the next part you can either alternate pick or sweep, I'd recommend alternate for it really.

Yeah it is, and for its price it's a very nice guitar to play. Good low action and smooth fretboard. The only problem I have with it is the stock pickups which don't have fantastic tone, but they're replaceable obviously. Id' say get it!

You could have a go at Ember to Inferno, it's got a good downpicking speed to build yourself up on and the solo is tricky but not too hard. The solos in shogun have also got a lot of different techniques in so that would be good to practice. Another song to learn really slowly thats tricky is Black Star by Yngwie Malmsteen. Good luck!

Been playing for almost 4 years now, I started out on stuff like SOAD, tenacious D and Trivium. I recommend learning easy stuff but find one song thats too hard for you but you really wanna learn it, it's good motivation!

Also make sure you broaden your musical taste, practice everything like jazz, acoustic, metal etc. and you won't go wrong!

actually, the part right after the intro requires open strings on the low b string which are only playable on 7 string guitars (6 string guitars have an e as the lowest string, not b)

tuning the low e to a low b ruins tone quality because it is too thick to be a proper low b. It also will increase the speed the string goes out of tune by alot. Yes, you could do that, but then you lose the low e and many parts of the song have to be shifted around from string to string and it wont sound as good because some of the solos were meant to be more linear for various tone reasons (such as buzz from distortion). You could tune down, but it wouldn't be nearly as good as a real 7-string
