Hey i have 4 african cichlids, tire track eel, bala shark and a bristlenose. I've had the eel for 4 years and just added the cichlids last week. How do i feed my eel bloodworms or shrimps without the cichlids stealing it all?

nice tank i was thinking of getting a eel but dont know if it will bring harm they are african cichlids in a 55 gallon can u tell me if it would work or not thx

Fire eels are compatible with african cichlids, but you'll need a bigger tank eventually and plenty of hiding spaces for the eel. They like to be in caves most of the time and the cichlids can tend to pick on them. And be prepared to hand feed the eel because the cichlids will steal the food from him. They are a wonderful addition to the tank, tho!
