The Packers have been around since 1919 sweetheart (2 years older than the NFL itself), and Green Bay during the 1920's was a "city" with the population of a small subburb, with no financial means to have an NFL team. Prior to Lambeau field (City Field) being built in the 1950's the Packers used to play on East High School's football field in front a a few bleachers, and they still were beating up teams like New York and Chicago. In essence, Chicago helped finance a team to kick their ass.
