Opium didn't merely go up... it went from nothing when the Taliban burnt all their opium fields in 1999 (therefore going from being the leading producer of opium in the world prior to 1999, with a 90% world wide production down to 0% after a nationwide incineration of the crops)... Yet the minute we entered Afghanistan opium production levels began to increase exponentially... and in 2006 Afghanistan had over 600 000 acres in opium fields.
You'd figure since opium in Afghanistan has become Al Quaeda's highest source of revenue (providing billions of dollars yearly to Al Quaeda) the U.S. would do something to eradicate it. And yet both the gov't & military have turned a blind eye despite the efforts of many advocating the need for measures to be taken to destroy Al Q's most significant source of funds. Is the U.S. purposely funding Al Quaeda by reluctantly avoiding to target or eliminate our enemy's primary source of income.
9/11 is Bill Clinton's fault!
Attack after attack after attack throughout the 90's and Clinton did nothing. CIA told Clinton to kill bin Laden but Clinton refused

This war was not started to be won, it was started to continue for generations to come.
