When I saw Chong Li in Bloodsport, it made me think of the way Liu Kang looked in MK3.

I wonder....

Was Liu Kang's MK3 costume supposed to be based on Chong Li's appearance in Bloodsport (or just Bolo Yeung in general)?

I know Johnny Cage is supposed to be based on Jean Claude Van Damme (who plays Frank Dux in Bloodsport who had a costume similar to Johnny Cage's MK1 costume but without the sunglasses & did a full split & crotch punch).

Don't get me wrong Bolo was a great fighter in his prime, but he only understood the art of punishment, pain, agony, destruction, he didn't really understand Bruce Lee art of Martial Arts! And I'm not surprised one bit that Bolo lost to Bruce Lee, because Lee was in his prime and so was Bolo but the point wasn't who was in his prime, the point is Lee was faster, he wasn't stronger than Bolo but strength is overrated if you don't have the speed to match your opponent! Lee's speed was GOD speed!

I don't know if you guys know Bolo didn't like Bruce Lee at first, when they were shooting ENTER THE DRAGON, he wanted a piece of Bruce Lee in a 1 on 1 fight, because he didn't believe Lee was that good, so they had a fight and guess what, Lee came out of that fight, with not 1 bruise, not 1 scratch, not 1 cut, nor did he bleed, while Bolo was on the ground bruised up, battered, beaten, his face was covered in blood, they had to separate them after they saw Lee was winning!
