  • You did an 8.64 for you 8th?

  • @TuQwik4u I'm gonna assume thats his RT

  • @TuQwik4u nevermind I'm retarded

  • Wow those traction bars must really be worth the penny because I have more mods than you do and run slower

  • love watching this vid :D lol What was your 60 ft times? must have been damn good because on gm stage 2 I got a 103.98 trap with a crap 2.398 60ft and went 14.177. Nice run!

  • saw this vid before I had my ss s/c but I got one and recently went to the track and got a 14.117 with 103.98 traps, what the hell was your 60 ft? lol

  • This run was pre-cooling mods.

Now I'm running dual pass + option-B and a garrett H.E. in series with my stock unit. I've also added a tubular header, highflow/DP, and mandrel cat-back since this

  • nice run. u have a dual pass? or extra h.e? meth? any cooling mods?

  • yo you need to get the front mount cx heat exchanger. espically on that size pulley your inlet temps are probably scorchin.

  • As Kevin said, the 8.64 is 1/8mile. And this was a Test 'N' Tune, not bracket racing, so R/T is not factored in at all, the clock starts when the laser is tripped, not at the last light. I actually usually dont even watch the tree at Test n Tune events, just focus on getting my launch where I want it.

Stay tuned, I've done full exhaust, mid-length header/DP/custom cat back and some other goodies since Ive been to the track, should be quicker in 09

  • 8.64 is not the reaction time. thats more like the 1/8 mile time. reaction on that launch should be somewhere around a .50 or below.

  • Horrible reaction time on your launch which is the posted 8.64. You improve that and you should hit low 13's, maybe high 12's with you r desired tunes and mods. Aim to launch at below 1.0. An 8.64 reaction time is 8 seconds. Launch on the last white light coming down the tree no t on the green light. You'll see. Best of luck and go Chevy!!!

  • Thanks ! I already have 2 of those mods just need the traction bars and control arm bushings .

  • Yep, get the tract bars for sure, they made a huge difference, get those first, and then get the CABs only if you have any wheel hop left.

If I'd bought the trac bars first I probably would have skipped the CABS

  • Running full exhaust (midlength header, high-flo cat, and full SS 2.5" header back exhaust) and some cooling mods for this season, just hafta get time to get back to the track

  • Great run just wondering if you didnt mind sharing your traction mods because im in the process of purchasing some .

  • Intense Poly Trans inserts and Control Arm Bushings, Bwoody traction bars, Ingals Engine Torque Dampener,

  • ummm is there a lil glitch from 28 sec to 29..like it just ummm yeah..just watch it...but good run..

  • Yeah it happened when i edited the video, it isn't in the original copy,,, dunno what happened there.

  • Nice run dude, 13.6 with just the stage 2? How much was it?

  • i love the sound of forced induction

  • cant wait to put my stage 4 in mine... lol only need 1 more thing for a complet stage 4 :)

which will ruin the warrenty.. oh well lol

  • get a custom tune

  • i have HP Tuners here so i was ahead of you there :P

  • why'd you burn out your tires before the race? arent you on stock tires?

  • haha ur car sounds kinda like a rc car..but stil cool non the less

  • LOL! I almost didn't watch this vid cause of the music , but I'm seriously considering replacing my second gen SHO with an ss/sc , if I do it will be in August , just wish I had more info from someone who owns one ( yes I did the test drive ) so far I like it , btw nice run man

  • I know, just my luck, my best pass of the day they're rockin the gay tunes. I've done all the work on my ride and kow quite a bit about them, so ask away man

  • GM stage 2, 42.5 pounders

  • did you put the tensor? because i put the 2.8 pulley and broke my belt. and now i am going to buy the adjustable tensor.

p.s nice race how you didn't burn your tires at the begging.

  • What are your injectors?

  • ^^Thanks man. I don't know if it was a T/A or not, but either way he had a shitty run, or maybe he let off when I passed him. His car should have done better than he did.

On a pos not though, my buddy has an SS/SC with similar mods (a ilttle less), and beat a T/A a couple weeks ago with at Stanton with something like a 14.2 to a 14.3

  • was that a trans am you raced? please let it be so! my cousin just recently got a 01 trans am and my 95 t-bird is no match for it! i'm going to get a cobalt ss/sc in september, but i didn't think it would beat a trans am anyway. i'm not gonna buy a new car just so i can beat my cousin, but after seeing this vid that might come as an added bonus. sweet time by the way.

  • Not to be a dick, but, you're full of shit, or an idiot probably both. Post up the slip or come on cobaltss . net then maybe I'll believe you.

With a 60' of 5.1 and a time of 13.2, that would mean you essentially ran the 1/4 in 8 seconds,,,, not gonna happen man.

  • Did i forget to mention the nos i have hooked up. it's a 75 shot, i hit it when in third. Maybe that take away the confusion, and the fact that the car is also 250lbs lighter then stock.

  • Yes i have the slip my 60 was 5.1 i don't have the LSD on my car, so im very traction limited in first gear. im going to put the LSD next. I think it's gonna cost me about $800 though i ititally only talked to gm about it. I don't think i will be able to do it any other way. the light weight fly wheel along with all my other mods. make up for it in second and third gears. The car pulls very hard with this setup

  • Lol, you have a time slip, or vid man. What was your 60' ? I highly doubt you trapped 111 on the stage 2 tune.

You won't be anywhere near 11's on that set-up for sure.

  • next after that pulley ill try some slicks!! that should make for maybe even low 12's or high 11's!!

  • 13.6 @ 105.77 very impressive, looks like i need the 2.8 pulley. my ss/sc has stage two with k&n cai, gmpp sports exhaust and headers, CA 2.5 downpipe w cat, weapon r torque dampener, spec clutch and lightweight flywheel, not to mention light weight rims and 225-40-18 tires. my best time is 13.2 @ 111 et. could only think what that pulley would do.

  • Thanks, 2.8" pulleyon the M62 with Intake, and completely stock exhaust peaks about 18psi.

  • thats awesome great run, how are you running at 18 psi though?

  • Nice Run!!
