In Europe 530i V8 was made from 92 to 11/95 for sedan cars and to 06/96 for touring car. Mine is german and from 05/1996. You're wrong, 535i has a 3.4 L6.
540i was made from 93 to 95 and 96 for touring. That's why 535i was made up to 93. So 530i L6 production stop in 90 i think because of the 525i start (192 HP vs 188 HP in Europe).
I See in ETK that 540i touring didn't exist in the US and there was no E34 touring in 96. I didn't know. And 530i L6 didn't exist anymore !
@stigsfatcousin you'd be fine in Neutral, Since no gear is selected and thus the transmission is bypassed. Only thing you've got to worry about is the British government taxing you revving your car lol. (Global warming is just a vehicle for control and shouldn't be taken seriously)
@m19921992 Tell me about it mate, suprised they haven't taxed oxygen yet, I am picking my e-34 v8 up tomorrow and have to tax it, god knows how much that will cost not to mention petrol being £1.20 a litre at the mo. To hell with it at least I will have an m-60 lol
@weetnietgeen I think I answered that for someone else already... but I'll say again. In Park the transmission doesn't get fluid(oil). The stress/heat generated from that reving could do damage. If you must rev, Neutral is safe.
@crazymac15300 First off, e39 was from 97-03 and the 530i didn't stop production until the after the 2007 e60...in 08 there was no 530i. The e34 was from 89-95. Third the e34 530i was only made in 94-95 with a 3.0L V8. Before that, it was the e34 535i with a 3.4L V8. There was also a 525i during the e34. There was no American 5 series in 96...cmon Mac...everyone knows that.
Apparently they built 37,292 of the 530i V8s as opposed to only 20,279 of the 530i straight-6's. So the V8's should be more common. Maybe the figures are wrong I don't know.
not wrong.bmw more his cars renovate every 3-4 year. they buiit v6 in 1988-92 and it has 188hp then they modif v8 from 1998-96 and ti has 218hp and I think it is much better then 535 e34 1988-95 because it has only 211. can you imagine?
Your car needs a service...well it needed a service when this video was taken anyway. Its a nice motor.

No, there is 530i L6 (1988-1993) M30 engine and 530i V8 (1992-1995) M60 engine, like 730i E38.

I don't mean to bother, but you really shouldn't rev it up in park.

UHHHHH WHY NOT
Asim1Killa 2 years ago
The transmission doesn't get oil, may lead to pre-mature transmission failure.
m19921992 2 years ago 2
@m19921992 May I ask why ? does it cause damage to the gearbox ? Just asking as I really dont know ? Regards ;-\)

@stigsfatcousin yes it can , my other post explains why.

@m19921992 I just read excellent advice chap, would the effect be the same if it was in N or is the gearbox oil then circulating ?

@m19921992 that'd be "for" revving your car.

The e34 530i was a V8. The e39 530i was an inline-6.
wingeater 4 years ago
The E34 from 92 to 96 was a V8 and the E34 from 88 to 92 was inline-6 (M30 188p). The E39 530i from 00 to 05 was an inline-6 (M54 231ps).
This V8 (M60) has 218ps. It was replaced by a 3,5L (M62 235ps) in the E39.
