Yeah, Scott Thomas Lowe, who wrote the song, wanted you to laugh at "fat gross stupid emmy" and also realize the cruelty of laughing and also damn the singer of the song for being a heartless bastard until you find out at the end he is even worse off than her, but also remember that he loves her. It seems like fat bashing but it really isn't. I was in a band with Scott and played the electric guitar on the track and made the film later.

Interesting, Im sure what you stated was the true intent, But the still video stereotypes fat women as stupid and willing to accept that they can only scrape the bottom of the barrel in life and relationships. Fortunately in real life this isnt always true.

Well its a rather difficult and touchy subject and it naturally will be viewed in different ways. The net is just stuffed full of people who have the opinion that the overweight are somehow less than worthy of being called human. Unfortunately the song and the animation at least to me, comes off that way. Please understand that no offense to you is intended. Im sure your intentions were purely for entertainment purposes only.

No offense taken, I assure you. Your comments are appreciated. A viwer can take away whatever they want from the experience. There ARE circus fat ladies- do they embrace and exploit their condition? How do they feel abou it? Fat Emmy "just don't give a damn" we are told. Scott's songs are often controversial.

We have become a far too PC society to allow the obese to exploit and objectify themselves at the present time. But as you and I know this wasnt always true and from what I have read most circus performers were quite happy with their lives. You have to remember that in the heyday of side shows it was a simpler time. As for Emmy I come away with the idea that she doesnt care about her size but she is not quite as crazy about being used and exploited against her will.
